With YoungStudGate having occurred maybe some thought should be given to restarting the vote. Those who voted for YS now have their votes nullified and should have the opportunity to vote for a qualified member.

 

I also didn't realize it was a multiple choice poll (hate multiple choice radio buttons, totally counter intuitive). Perhaps others didn't realize it as well. There were many deserving members that I would of included in my choice.

 

We haven't run one of these in ages so whats another couple of weeks?

I don't think we need to restart, it is multiple choice (Sorry you overlooked that). If it was not multiple choice a re-vote would be in order.

For you to gracefully step down after a few people mention they have issues with you winning (yet another award, that you totally deserve) was very diplomatic of you, but I can see where they were coming from which leads me to my next shout-out:

Perhaps this award should have two categories- Provider and Hobbiest, it does seem a little unfair as providers are more likely to have many more admirers than a hobbiest might, except in Pete's case as he is such a sweetheart, was definitely a tough decision to choose between the two of them... So to even out the playing field (but still allow a provider to earn the valued member award) there should be two categories, just like in boxing: you wouldn't put a heavyweight with a flyweight, it just doesn't make sense!

I'd just like to apologize to everyone again for a stupid prank that got out of hand, eventually lead to some dumb action in this thread and now continues to have repercussions in what should, as Emma says, been a fun process.

 

None of this probably would have happened had I not been off on holiday for the past couple of weeks and had some extra time on my hands. I'm one of those people who in high school would get 80's and 90's in classes I really liked but be booted out of others for jokes and pranks. Too easily bored, I guess.

 

I created the Dude as an alter ego to make playful posts in various forums and threads. I just saw the Dude as this big dumb but likable goof like the Jeff Bridges character in The Big Lebowski (the Dude's avatar), another aging harmless hippy who could "unintentionally" inject some humour into various situations.

 

But as quite rightly pointed out by Mod, we probably don't need Cheech and Chong-type humour which could only reinforce certain stereotypes about the business which are really the exception rather than the rule among professional escorts and their clients

 

By the way, while the Dude may have some issues with substances, it was one too many brews at the pub by me (I'm on holiday, remember - lol) which lead to sloppy vote box checking on the Dude's behalf. It has been decades since I've indulged in anything smokable, including cigarettes. Yes, I have tried it in the past. And, yes, like Monica Lewinsky, I did inhale. Lol. But only in my foolish youth.

 

So, again sorry for causing all these hassles. I think Emma should stay in the contest and let the members decide. She or Pete or whomever the members chose would be most deserving of the award.

Aw Emma, I think you should just ignore whatever comments were made that you found upsetting. We're having a vote and unlike a regular private vote, some people are publicly championing who they think should win and it might sound negative against someone else. I don't think that's the case here and even if it were, majority rules and that majority so far has said that you are the best choice for the award.

 

To be perfectly honest, PistolPete and YoungStud (but not the dood!) were of 2 of 4 posters I selected, and you were not...but if you were to win, I would think that's awesome and you are fully deserving of it. There's a lot of people on that list that deserve it, but you've been an amazing contributor to this board and if you end up getting all the extra bling to show for it, kudos to you. Without posters like you, CERB would be a dull place to be and would likely dry up and die. Stay in the race sweetie!

When they were first posted, no one objected to the terms that stated who was eligible for this award. No one objected to the suitability of any of the nominees before the voting started.

 

I feel it is very unfortunate that objections have been raised now, with only a few days left in the voting. What would have been a strictly theoretical question had it been raised before the voting started, now inevitably carries unpleasant and directly personal overtones --because of the current voting results. I do not say that these overtones were intended to be there -- but nevertheless there they are.

 

I still wish all the candidates the best, because they have all contributed a great deal to Cerb. All are deserving. But I also feel very sad. Cerb itself seems somehow diminished to me today.

Initially when I first saw the nominees for the Cerb Valued Member Award and it consisted of Hobbyist's and Provider's, I was going to suggest to the Mod that there should be two categories. I now wish I had made this suggestion back then.

 

There is definitely room for two Cerb Valued Member Awards to be presented, as it stands now it would be Emma and PistolPete of which are extremely deserving of these awards.

I would have to agree. Pete deserves the recognition, and I understand why we allow SP's to be nominated because of course they are members and they are highly valued, but I personally feel that the SP Award is their valued member award since they get it for contributing to the community. The hobbiests deserve their own award for their contributions. And I realize some will disagree with me on this, and I hope I don't step on anyone's toes, but I do have 2 left feet so I'm sure it will offend someone.

 

As you can tell by the numbers it is a lot easier for the SPs to get votes considering 4 SPs combined have more votes than almost 10 of the hobbiests combined. If I set my status on msn to vote for me for the cerb valued member award I would be lucky to get one vote. But if any of the ladies do that, they are going to get a lot of their guys voting for them.

 

Maybe an increase to the frequency of the SP award to 1 a quarter might help as the community grows and more ladies start contributing.

 

 

The SP award is for your favorite SP member the Valued Member award is for members contributions to the site. Many SP's contribute a lot to this site! Emma and many of the other ladies contribute to this site, taking time to answer your questions and to be part of the community. They deserve recognition as much as the guys who contribute.

 

Now, maybe we should offer TWO awards when we do this? One for the SP with the highest votes and one for the Hobbiest with the highest votes? Would anyone object to this?

 

This award is just a way to show some recognition to everyone who contributes. Just to be nominated means at least 1 person on the site values your contributions (that says a lot about you!) and to have additional people vote for you here shows that more then 1 person values your contributions and wants to see you get some recognition for it.

 

It's nice to get the MOST votes but really everyone involved in the poll is already a winner.

 

Personally I think Pete and Emma both contribute a lot to the board and would love to see either of them win the recognition (or both)... but the vote is not over yet and I am not going to withdraw anyone from the voting poll. We only have 89 voters so far and 1000's of members.

 

So far 2,104 people have viewed this thread and 89 have voted. That is just 4% of the viewers... hopefully we can increase this number.

Why should we look at 2 awards:

 

At first even before I was nominated I sent a pm to Mod asking for 2 service providers to be on the list they were Annessa and ErinXO.

 

I felt that ladies here contribute a lot of good information on this board, hence my thumbs up for these 2, Emma's name was already on the list.

 

I felt that I did not have a snowball chance in hell of even competing against these ladies.The fact would be that the Providers would seek more votes from other providers,which has already been determined by Beth's comment and Paige's.

 

The LAST thing I want from this vote, is anyone feeling un-easy or if fact backing out.

 

The whole concept of a Valued Member such as, Dreamer,Dummpy,Cowboy Kenney, Cat, Emma was to acknowledge their efforts here at CERB, not to get into a popularity contest.

 

It is not about who has the most post's, look at what is happening now, we all can post pictures,(I've posted pics too).... but the fact is we love the information,sharing it, safety for ladies and hobbiest(Thanks CK now we have bait and switch), recommendations, now we got groups started, it is all about the wealth of information a member can bring to the board and contribute to others.

 

On a daily average I get 3 to 4 pm's asking requesting information on ladies and I share my opinion (BTW it is always good).

 

I feel whatever happens, I will always continue doing what I enjoy, pleasuring the ladies treat with the upmost respect, share my information,post recommendations bump into threads and throw my 2 cents worth, and keep laughing and enjoying life.
