I think this little devil's advocate has lead the conversation completely off the rails.

I'm such a pain in the ass, but I'm grateful for the debate. Cool thread.

Yeah, my bad -- I definitely dove all the way in there, but didn't mean to grind the discussion to a halt.

It would be interesting to hear firsthand from some dating site "consumers" who discovered after a few exchanges that they were dealing with a professional companion rather than a civilian.

Well there was me. A lady on LL, back when I tried dating sites, in her profile suggested that if she was just given the money a guy would spend on dinners out he would be guaranteed to take her to bed. BTW no, I didn't contact her

Also, twice while on LL Russian brides hijacked my email. One contacted me and said for, I think it was over $10,000 I could send her the money so she could fly to Canada to be my wife.

Another said she would fly to Canada to be my wife but her mother and son would be coming too

When I first started "stepping out" I tried LL because it had an "intimate only" section and I foolishly thought there might be likeminded women who were looking solely for NSA fun. I talked with a few women who, while placing a profile in the intimate only section, were actually looking for relationships. Arrgh! I asked them why they didn't stick to the dating and relationship sections and they said the intimate area was more interesting and they didn't want to miss an opportunity. WTF? I found it frustrating and deceptive. Kinda like guys claiming to be interested in relationships just to get sex. Who knows, hopefully these people are finding each other!

I also talked with 2 SP's who had profiles on LL. They told me after a few messages were exchanged. It never went anywhere as I was caught of guard and didn't know what to make of it. Truthfully, I was more frustrated with the women claiming to be just looking for NSA fun but really wanting a relationship. I eventually gave up on these sites as I really did not want any relationship or attachments. Thankfully I found CERB.

I know of at least one site that actually has PAID COMPANION as a selection to tick off on your profile. xxxmatch.com

It also can be posted in the first line of the profile. (PAID COMPANION) I forget the word that use for the line.

Let me flip the situation here just to show my point:

I have account in one of the dating websites and I clearly state that I am not seeking MEN and despite that clear advertisement I get tons of emails from men every day and find it really annoying since my profile is very clear about my interests!

I presume because I use the same pictures (which work will for my purposes) and they might have recognized them from other escorting websites, they think that they can get a free pie using that avenue. Of course this would never happen! Ultimately the same men give up and book a session with me. So they must must have known who I am in order to get my contact information, since I don't post any contact information on my profile in the dating site.

The point I am trying to make is that does it really matter. If a girl is using this avenue inappropriately she is not forcing them to accept the conditional engagement. There must be a mutual agreement for their advances to succeed. I would therefore be more inclined to call it inappropriate use (or unprofessional) rather than unethical.

Last, I really doubt that those websites would allow soliciting as most of them have strict policies and would terminate any reported account!
