Asking for info on fellow hobbyists ????

Recommended Posts

Something has been bothering me a bit for years. Every now and then and SP or MA will mention something to me that was told in confidence (usually via PM) to another hobbyist by me. Or the provider will tell me of another hobbyist asking for personal info about me from them (ie, real name etc).

Maybe I'm wrong but the vast majority here (or other similar boards) are fairly protective of their anonymity. We share info and stuff but except for the ones attending the get togethers most stay anon. I enjoy talking here and sharing info but when personal inquiries are being made about me I wonder if perhaps I should share less and keep a lower profile. I have thought of this before but have always resisted and most likely will again.

Yeah, I guess when I wrote a running journal of my exploits a few years back on another board I opened myself up to some scrutiny but I certainly did not reveal personal info or infer that I wanted to. That was a fun and somewhat interesting time in my life and a lot of us had fun with it. I just don't get why anyone would be interested in anything personal about another hobbyist? We all seem to dislike the idea of running into other clients when seeing a provider, so why do you want info on them?

I have shared some personal info with a few via PM as those people seemed trustworthy and have proven to be so. They are not the problem as they have kept the trust with what I've told them. It's the random person I've trusted with a bit of confidence that occasionally break the trust. I have stopped sharing things with certain people due to things they were told getting back to me from a provider.

I can honestly say I've never been tempted to find any personal info on anyone I've met online and shared info with. It kind of shocks me when I hear someone is inquiring about me. Why bother? I'm a guy who is average in most every way. Nothing special here, I have an average job with average pay and live in an average house and drive average cars. I'm no celebrity or of any import on a local, provincial or federal level. Just plain old me. I have no idea why anyone would be interested in anything about me.

I've had the rare instance where an SP has asked me for info about someone online and I just tell them that we are all anon here and no one really knows the other. So any info we might have could be bogus and is not able to be verified. When I recommend someone to an SP I always give the caveat that I don't really know the person, only what they say online which may or may not be accurate. They will need to screen clients themselves in their own manner.

Has anyone else had problems with others asking an SP for personal info about you? I am not posting this due to any recent events, this is something that comes up once in a while and something made me think of it so I thought I'd see what others think. And while I have not had any problems caused by these requests regarding me, I do wonder if some day this may not be the case.

Everyone is entitled to a certain level of privacy in this hobby. To me, the girls are the most in need of info to be safe and secure. So I can see them inquiring about some things. But for another hobbyist to be asking for info on another hobbyist? What's the point?

I have not run into this situation either. If I had, it would make me a bit nervous. I just don't see the point, so why would anyone ask.

This has happen to me, strangely enough. And like you I'm about as average as the next Slurp.

Why it happens ? My only guess is curiosity especially if you have been interacting with someone long enough. Interacting could just mean posting thread that they find (dis)agreeable or even seeing the same SPs.

Just means I have to be more cautious is all :)

That's just wrong, anyone have an axe to grind, old history?

Not that I'm aware of. If that was the case I wouldn't be wondering .....

One guy in particular seemed to be pumping me for info on a provider, exchanging experiences via PM. Next thing I know he's telling her everything I told him even though it was supposed to be between just me and him. I thought maybe he was jealous and wanted her for himself and he thought he could turn her against me somehow. I would never tell anyone things that important so he did no real harm. But other than trying to cause a rift, I can see no reason for doing what he did. Net affect was zilch but seemed so odd.

As for the others it shall remain a mystery it seems ...... unless someone steps forward which is most unlikely ..... :butt:

I can see a hobbiest enquiring about an SP and vice-versa, but that's it. Being fairly new on CERB, I haven't experienced much with other hobbiests other than to ask for info on SP services in some cases which I did receive. I think we can help each other out in that way but that's about it for me.

I have all the information I need on people here......your handle.

but I guess some people want to learn more to see where they fit in....to see if they are different from others...or do they share other interests or similarities in life.....

for me...I only care if the ladies are safe and we are not putting any one at risk....in thier private life of in any other way.

That's odd someone would care to inquire about personal information on SP's or hobbiests. I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go around and we shouldn't be shocked to find odd behaviour here as well.

I have gone out for beers and a little strip club fun with a fellow member on CERB. But really, it was just for fun, talking about the hobby, what girls in the club we knew, and never exchanged much in the way of personal information. It was great to share different experiences with someone who understands, as I'm sure most on here don't talk about their hobby to there regular friends.

The idea of being involved in this hobby for me is fantasy and discretion. I don't care to share personal information with anyone. The only exception would be an SP I had a connection with, she confided in me some personal stuff, we have become friends.

Let's play safe, have fun and leave the personal stuff at home.

I have never come across this situation. I have no interest in personal information of other hobbiests or of SPs. Be kind, be discrete and be safe.

I said somethimg to an SP in Pm and thought was private, then found it mention in one of her writings. I was actually very upset about this, and I lost trust in this person and respect for. I thought she was cool when, I first met her, but I was wrong and I will not say who!

But I have found one person on here I trust very much and will return to see her soon I hope, if I'm feeling better.

So slurp it does happen, but I believe most SP's will treat you with respect and keep your pm's private.:o:roll::ablow:

I do not think there is any excuse for exposing anything in a pm. It is, after all, short for private message. Anyone who reveals something said in pm should suffer some sort of repercussion, like banning or restricted access. We should all feel perfectly comfortable in saying whatever we wish in private. If what someone says is offensive or threatening, they can easily be reported privately as even then it shouldn't be revealed.

On the topic, I think it bizarre that a hobbiest should be enquiring about personal info about another hobbiest. I have rarely met board members who admit to being a board member anyway, but to admit to it then ask about another one is just wrong. Personally, if it were I that that guy had come to see, I would have warned the subject of his conversation and, if I knew it, would report his handle to the mod. Further, I would not see him again and would include his info into the blacklist forum I belong to. I would probably do much the same for anyone who pries too deeply into the life of an escort member.

Could it be that this SP was more "giveing" to you than him and he wanted to try to get a bit more service than she would normally provide for him.... YMMV !!

I am sure that every one here has read a raveing review then seen the SP and felt that it wasnt, "all that" or seen an SP given a raveing review that was well deserved and then read that others didnt think their experiance was "All That" ???

Just my 2 cents....

Private Message is really akin to email, no more no less.

It does not imply privacy in any way shape or form, unless there is a prior agreement between both parties. I don't expect any of my email correspondence to be private either.

On the topic, I think it bizarre that a hobbiest should be enquiring about personal info about another hobbiest.

I had two or three incidents reported back to me. In one case the hobbiest is someone I talk to on a regular basis and he was just curious about me. No harm no foul. I definately don't want him reported or kicked out of cerb just for idle curiosity.

In the other cases I have no idea what the motivations were.

The fact that the ladies were willing to report it back to me was sufficient proof for trusting they would keep my personal information private.

I did'nt read the whole thing... (Sorry Slurp) Barely the first paragraph... But for me, somebody (client) asking ANY kind of info on a fellow is pure DANGER.

What's the point? You want to f**k him, or what?

If a info is asked in a purpose of gang bang, I will gently, but firmly reffer him to the poly group. Otherwise, I think it's disrespectful, and even disgraceful...

I'm not looking for trouble, and won't cause any...

That's one of the reason I don't remember names or faces of my clients...

And even for VERY FEW SPs (2 or 3) with well establish reputation, I am very carefull (gentle, nice gentleman, not a treath, that's about it...).

Also, I don't like any info given at another SP. Again, she won't pay me, so what's the point???

Some how I to end up at the center of controversy with these types of things. I have chosen a different path and that transparency. This can lead to many other problems but at the end of the day it all ways it self out. I think anyone who has met me know the kind of guy I am, I would rather stand in front of you and let you judge me than speculate behind my back.

I think a few things are very clear to those that have met me;

1. I am not a pimp

2. I am not bankrupt

3. I am a professional and not a hoodlum posing as one

Slurp from I read about your posts online you are also a stand up guy, when we this much passion for the Hobby people are currious about us that's all.

Yes there are bad people out there but they have no credibility. One of the things I learned early in life is if you are having a problem with someone or some people don't be afraid to show your face and confront them. This is a secert hobby and we fear if our business associates or families find about us. The oddest things come back to bite us as careful as we are if you are active things will happen.
