Where did I go wrong?

Recommended Posts

I was making a one night trip to Winnipeg..

So I did my homework, picked the person I wanted to see. I emailed 3 weeks in advance. Set up the appointment, everything was a go.

2 weeks before the appointment, I emailed again letting her know how excited I was to be seeing her. everything still good.

I week before and the day of the appointment I emailed everything was still good.

The plan was I was to call her between flights and let her know everything was still good. Even if she did not answer I was suppose to leave a message stating I was still interested in the appointment. When I called her at the arranged time, her message box was full.

I was suppose to call her again from the hotel when I got there. I did, her message box was not full, and I left a message. She never showed nor returned my phone call.

My question is what did I do wrong? I spent a lot of time on this and was left with aching blue balls. I am not sure now, if ever want to do this again, and if I do how can avoid this situation again.

Thanks

it happens. what can I say?

in my experience this is rare.

next time make a list of `possibles` and arrange for the encounter when you arrive

It is rare but there is no way to guarantee 100% an encounter will occur. Unexpected things can come up even for the most reputable SP's. The best advice is to have a back up plan in place.

Ask her. Chances are she got a cold or flu, maybe something in her personal life drew her away from the business.... etc... it happens. This is a problem when dealing with any type of personal service. (Contractors, web designers, etc... not just escorts but it does seam to happen a lot more with contractors and escorts).

It happens. You did well with the communication. Perhaps she was not for you anyway. Better you find out with a no show, then an uninspired date. There are plenty of other very good and very professional cerbites here. If you are not too discouraged, try again. Take a look at the reccomendations here by city and I am sure you will find someone else.

I hate hearing stories like that so I feel for you but did fine.

I agree with Mod and the guys, something may have happened...just do not get yourself all wrapped up in the idea that you were "neglected" or "discarded" or whatever....to the best people things happen that they do not expect to!

All the best

Everybody is being politically correct in saying "it happens" or "something must have happened" and they are right it does and it could have but that does not excuse the SP for not calling to cancel.

I would contact the SP and politely ask for an explanation and let her know how disappointed that you never had the opportunity to make alternate arrangements. Then take the money that you saved and treat yourself to an extended appointment or an extra appointment on your next trip.

What ever you do...don't publicly diss the SP or evenly discreetly diss her. It will hurt your reputation. Who knows, if the SP in question is appreciative of your politeness, she may enjoy the opportunity to make it up too you. Almost like makeup sex.

You didn't go wrong anywhere. This in an unfortunate part of the hobby that occurs from time to time as I have experienced this myself. Sometimes you will get and explanation and sometimes you won't. Don't take it personally and move on. Remember the encounter isn't guaranteed until you are together behind closed doors.

Yup this has happened to me 4 or 5 times and it's always annoying, The part that always kills me is that they don't call or even send a polite "sorry something happened" note.

The first time it happened I was absolutely furious. Emailed the lady 3 or 4 times to ask her what happened? was she OK? was it my location? I am still waiting for a response a year and a half later.

I don't try them again if I don't even get the courtesy of a note of apology or clarification...move on...there are a lot of fish in the sea.

They are in business and if they are too unprofessional to conduct business properly they won't be around long....in fact I notice that not a single one of them is anymore...one of them was very active on this board and complained bitterly when she retired that no one was coming to see her....gee I wonder why?

My conclusion now for each one of them is that I picked the wrong person. They were rude and unprofessional which probably would have equated to a bad session. So I'm glad I saved my money.

To be fair, the SPs experience a high no show rate too so it happens on both sides of the fence....which does not excuse it...it's just the way it is.:?

Yes it happens, but she could have taken 30 seconds and called him or sent him a text or something.

I agree, especially since they were planning this encounter for three weeks. It`s just bad manners to ignore someone. even if you`re sick you can still text a polite excuse and offer to reschedule the appointment.

You did everything by the book...the only thing I may have done different is to come on cerb and if there are no reco's on my chosen lady, I would have checked with the Winnipeg guys on cerb to see if they have had any experiences with the lady in question....she may have had unexpected trouble, but she owes you a courtesy call for sure. Good luck hobbying in the future....the good experiences far outweigh the bad.

In my experiance many time detailed plans made too far in advance often do not go exactly the way planned! I dont know why this is but I have better luck with shorter time frames 2 weeks or less. Even my plans change occasionally if made that far in advance! I understand that you wanted to see this special lady above all others and this was the time that you had so you wanted to "nail it down" ... I have been there too :)

I have found that A little reaserch in to the agency's of the city I am visiting is a good backup ...rather than getting "rained out" and you cant really have 2 Indie's on the string ;) On 2nd thought that could be a plan :) that way if they both show it could be an awsome duo ...

Etur34 - based on your side of the story it appears you followed your end of the process. Unfortunately this disappointment is part of the game. A quality person, if they cannot alert you in a timely fashion that they are going to be late, cancel etc will follow up after the fact to explain, apologize, offer to reschedule etc. It is just good public relations. If you can be prepared to be disappointed sometimes, then you've learnt a valuable lesson. If you must, have alternative plans. I will never say 'backup plan' because no lady wants to be second best.

Happy travels.

If I no show a business meeting, I better have a real emergency. I would expect the same in this business. But the game is simple too, any SP that deals with their business that way would eventually lose out in the end. It IS a two way street, both parties should expect to be treated with respect.

To answer a few of the replies.

I did not have a back up plan, the appointment was for 10:30 PM to late for back up.

I did contact the sp, she said because I did not call at the agreed upon time to leave a message, she assumed the appointment was cancelled (mailbox was full), and made another appointment. I did read up on this sp and all info was good. In the future, I think I will try and call a week in advance to confirm the appointment, just so I can talk to them on the phone.

Question, does making the appointment 3 weeks in advance make sp's nervous that it will not happen, not sure?

thank you for all of your responses, they will be useful in the future as well

Question, does making the appointment 3 weeks in advance scare sp's, not sure?

Not when you or the lady are traveling. I'm pretty certain I've made one or two appointments that were a couple of months out. However I'm also a chronic email confirm-er typically a day or the night before.

My backup plan has always been stay in, imho the whole concept of second in line is distasteful to me.

You did nothing wrong. My first encounter with an SP didn't turn out well either. She asked me to call her from a particular destination and she would then tell me where I needed to go. I arrived a bit early and when the time came to call her I got her voice mail and left a message. A few minutes later my phone rang and she asked me if we could reschedule. Sure no problem. Our second attempted meeting was almost as bad. At least she called me ahead of time to cancel. Third time is the charm right. Well in this case it was. We finally managed to meet and I had an amazing time.

Hopefully if you still want to see her you will hook up and have an awesome time.
