The prostate is just in front of the rectum. A doctor can feel the walnut sized prostrate by inserting his finger in the patient's rectum. The urethra runs through the center of the prostate, from the bladder to the penis, letting urine flow out of the body.The prostrate also produces part of the ejaculate.
