Downtown hotels that will accomodate?

Recommended Posts

I heard that if you live in the same city, some hotels won't allow you to stay the night. I don't believe this is true because you could easily be doing renovations on your house or could have many other reasons for why you cant be at home. Maybe you are letting a relative stay over or are not getting along with someone. I really want to just get a hotel for a day and see like 5 different SPs all who are ok with wearing adult diapers. But I want to know some hotels downtown that aren't overly pricey and will let me stay there even though I live in the city, without any questions or suspicion. Bigger the better, so they don't notice the SPs coming up to my room.

I was really surprised to hear of these types of policies from hotels and I'm sure they get many complaints and non-repeat business as a result. What happens if someone moves or when their wife kicks them out of the house? lol. Their loss I suppose. I heard from another SP that the Delta hotel on Queen St has enforced this policy.

A few other hotels would be the Crowne Plaza or the Marriott on Queen. They are both larger hotels and SP friendly with discreet entrances to go in and out of. The Crowne is the best for when having an SP come to your hotel. There are elevators on the floor below the front desk and the SP can go straight up to your room without any problems.

it is true. The Delta enforced this policy last summer and to my knowledge still does. You aren't allowed to stay there if you are from Ottawa or even Gatineau....no matter what your reason for staying at a hotel is.

I am not sure they are still enforcing those rules because I have stayed at the delta about 5 different occasions since January 2010, and it was all good...I even request an early check in 12:30 ish, and its always a go!!!

Next time, for convenience, I will be staying at the albert at bay, a ONE bedroom suite/apartment like room, is about 100 dollars ish.......and they are really big rooms!

BTW , my girlfriend works at the front desk of the DELTA, NO she has no idea what I do, and she has indicated to me that the staff is fully aware of who is a sp and who is not, in fact they discuss it amongst themselves, NOT COOL...but what can you do, I guess they pick up on a few things here and there when NON discreet sps stay there.....Apparently, one time an sp called down to the front desk, screaming that a maid interrupted her while she was with a client!!!!! She should NOT have used the term client ...but I could TOTALLY understand her frustration !!!!

I wonder how they know if the woman is an SP? Besides the obvious ( dressed inappropriately or acting indiscreetly about their job). I'm assuming once the guest is behind closed doors and keeps things on the down low then I don't think there is anything the hotel can do. My sister and a friend of mine both worked at the Westin hotel here in Ottawa over the years and they also mentioned about how they could spot escorts. They said it was mostly because of their attire and demeanor which as so obvious. Years ago I saw one being arrested in the Hartwells bar for soliciting an undercover police officer.

it's funny thing to hear that hotel can refuse someone who's living in the area ...

I know that the sheraton was even giving a discount to the people of Ontario/Quebec when they rent in their own "province". I don't know if they still offering that special but they were.

I would hope that the hotel is not only clean but also discreet. I've been to Les Suites and it was a very nice place. We were pretty loud because we had a hotel party going on and no one interupted us or said anything.

Just guessing, but maybe they had too many people using the rooms for private parties that went wenty awry. Not sure where it was, but I heard about a birthday party held by a local resident at a downtown hotel lthat went bad when someone showed up with a gun. I'm only guessing...

A friend of mine told me that if you're local and go to the seedier hotels like the Prestige or the Concorde, they assume you're there to "party".

I think you would be safe at any of the other ones suggested here like the Crowne Plaza.

Just a side note..I am adult diaper friendly.

I know the Marriott has no issues renting to in-towners, even if you are just a walk-in and haven't booked ahead of time. The even do day rooms, good from when you walk in until 5 pm. Very handy for same day as the usual check-out time makes it hard for "nooners" (Who would have thought the Mormons were so SP friendly?)

In fact you may get a top end room. Just yesterday I got the 25th floor facing Parliament Hill with a view of the river, the Gatineau's etc etc. I got to share it with two of my favourite ladies, which made me wish I had more than two eyeballs. I couldn't take in all the lovely sites at once. (humming Afternoon Delight to myself)

I went there so many times that they go to know me on a first name basis.lol. You wouldn't believe the excuses I came up with to explain why I was staying there all the time. Many other times I have had friends check-in for me too. At the end of the day I don't think they care as long as you're not causing any trouble towards the staff or hotel guests.

Thank you. I did not know this and it was one of my hotels of choice.

I am assuming from previous posts that The SOuthway is out?

Additional Comments:

I have had a wonderful time at the Westin. Again the elevators are on the second floor if you get there by 8pm, as the Rideau Center doors are locked.

And as Angela said:

OMFG the Southway Inn. LMAO!! I went there on a duo last year and had only visited that place twice before and heard rumors that they ripped out escort yellow page ads with a sticky inside saying they do not allow escorts in their hotel. Sure enough it was true. The hotel itself seems to cater to the bible thumping community as there were crucifixes above the door. What happened in there would send any bible thumper running for the hills.lol. 2 women and 1 guy was not a good idea in that place. We made a mess of the room by the time we finished. Surprisingly we were kind of loud ( major orgasms) but no one complained. My advice would be to stay away. It was a night to remember but I'm never going back there because I don't like the place nor am I fan of hotels that blantantly promote religion or rip out ads from the yellow pages.

Ditto here. The Southway has always been out for me. Close to my place, I know too many people who have worked for that family over the decades...and quit.

How about the Hilton at Lac Lemay and the Casino? Seems to me that it would be a good option.

Thats my favourite hotel in the Ott/Gat region... the most luxurious by far.

That is definately on my "go to" List as I hear its quite nice. I like high end hotels. And you have the benefit of the casino right there! Sounds like a "Staycation" to me!

Anyone know of any hotels or rental places that have private Hot Tub rooms in Ottawa? Or at least a large 2 person jacuzzi in them?

Thanks.

The suites at the Hilton have the biggest, nicest bathrooms and a big jacuzzi.

The Ramada across from the casino, all the rooms have a jacuzzi.

On the Ottawa Side, The Days Inns in Bells Corners and the Airport have Jacuzzi suites that have fairly large tubs. The Monterrey has Jacuzzi rooms, but the tubs are a bit smaller. The suites Hotel (can't remember the name) on the corner of Terry Fox by Scotiabank place has good sized jacuzzi suites as well.

I have heard the Chimo has them, although not advertised on their website. And they are also available at the Best Western Victoria Park Suites on Cooper and Gladstone.

Gee sounds like someone has been doing his research. LOL
