Private Striptease

Even a few of my clients have admitted to me that they have taken dancers they didn't particularly like to the CR because they felt sorry for them and felt bad saying no.

Sure glad I'm not one of those guys! :) That's happened to me dozens of times' date=' which doesn't say much for my ability to say "no". That "pathetic" ploy really does work.

I am a lot better now than when I was younger. If a dancer approached me with a smile and a good attitude, I usually went to the CR, even if I had my eye on someone else. This was a terrible situation as it often left me short for the dancer I really wanted.....Today, I usually politely admit up front that I am waiting for someone with the caveat that; "If it doesn't work out maybe later". The worst thing is to spend your hard earned cash and go home without having a good time.

I had the opportunity to have sex with a stripper. At first I didn't understand what she was talking about when she asked me if I did outside activities. I thought she was talking about camping, fishing or sports. Then she asked me if I have sex outside the club. I am not married and have no girlfriend so no I don't. Then like the stupid idiot that I am I finally clued in to what she was asking me. I was a little bit scared at first and completely caught off guard. At first I agreed. Then I thought about how I would be perceived by other strippers at the club then I thought about one person in particular. This person actually gave me her number and I did not want to betray her. I ended up turning down her offer. Because I was not able to check my feelings at the door I offended this girl and hurt her feelings which I did not wish to do at all. I am not handsome and get no action so if a woman offers me sex in a stripclub I have no business refusing. Besides if I was any kind of a real man I would have the guts and courage to hang out at a regular bar and pick up women. This girl was very affectionate towards me and seemed willing to be with me. I guess deep down I would rather have sex with the other stripper which is stupid and foolish of me. Obviously that is not going to happen so I need to grow up a little bit. I don't know why I was concerned about how others strippers would look at me. At first I thought going to a strip club would be easy you check your feelings at the door and it is all about tits and asses and cookies and money. I am not made out of stone I am made out of flesh and blood like every one else. I am no different then any other customer and do the same thing that they do which is oogle and grope women. Sure everything is pretend in there and they tease and hustle you a little bit but that is part of the business. I have not danced with many people but have being fortunate in the sense that I have danced with some very beautiful women and some really nice people. I guess when they are naked it is hard to resist. However you don't connect with everyone with some dancers there is a wall between you and them which is understandable after all intimacy is not really what stripping is all about and people must be self protective of their hearts. Plus nobody likes germs so I don't blame strippers if they do not wish to be kissed. If I want to see boobs I can go online or look in a magazine. I guess that really isn't what I'm looking for at the club. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the dances very much but I guess I enjoy the company and the human contact even more. And as far as money is concerned money talks just as loud outside of a stripclub as inside one. There are some women out there that are only interested in a guy for his money at least strippers are honest about it. They choose who they want to sit beside so I always take it as a complement when a stripper sits down beside me. However going to a stripclub does have consequences and is not as easy as one might think.

Believe it or not' date=' many erotic dancers are against escorting, massaging, etc. I think it's because the sex industry is stigmatized and they like to set themselves apart. That is why I think many erotic dancers are not interested in associating themselves with CERB. You can also get into trouble with a club if they find out you're doing escorting on the side and you could get fired. They believe you might solicit clients in the club and draw police attention.[/quote']

I always felt that the sex industry was too organized into castes. It is not uncommon to hear, "I'm just glad I'm not a ..., I have too much respect for myself."

Don't worry about clubs. They make money all right. Not only they charge poor dancers trying to make a living (and they charge cover after 6:00 pm) but mostly they make lots of money by selling booze 3-4 times the price they buy it.

Well of course we hate it. I hate paying rent' date=' paying taxes, etc. But that doesn't mean there is a viable alternative.

I've seen girls do that because they think it will make them money. Sometimes it works. I personally find it rather pathetic. Some guys do fall for it. They usually view themselves as being above the dancers (and women in general) and they feel good about "saving" the dancer.

It's extremely easy to sell one lapdance (the price of the housefee) in a 5-hour shift, but it is possible in theory to not sell one. In all the time I danced I never once saw a dancer work a whole shift without selling a dance. Ultimately stripping is a business, and self-employed people and businesses of all kinds fail. That's life.[/quote']

And /or charging clients for private rooms (Quebec side of course) for those who wish a more private session, and more comfortable. And safe. This also removes the dancer from the stage list for a while, if she's due to go. Yes, part of your money goes straight to the club but hey.... it's an alternative to renting an hotel room and getting into the legal ramification Megan referred to.

Dancing is greatly influenced on the laws of economics. Yes, it's not an easy job being independently employed in this sector of the economy. I've seen clubs with as many if not more dancers than clients. The market is a volatile one in that sense. Some manage their work well and are leading good lives, but there are some who are just coasting or using the job to party.

A strip club is a business and thus should be run like one. The profit margins are low and the expenses high. Be happy that they exist and enjoy them for what they are worth from a consumers perspective. Don't try and disect it just enjoy it ! :)

And In a way, dancers are sub-contractors... I find it extremely nice and helpful that some dancers i know well take the time to explain the business, it's internal politics, how it's managed, the internal troubles management is faced with in managing the club, etc... when i got to see them. Not as a way to complain, but as a way to educate. Not sure everybody appreciates the perspective.

As an independent contractor' date=' I run the show, and this is very important to me! Believe it or not, it's actually empowering to the dancers to pay a house fee and maintain their independent contractor status.[/quote']

I have never worked as a dancer :-D nor owned a strip club :-?.

But Megan, I think you are right.

I once had an experience of "taking a dancer out". I somehow managed the courage to ask her to coffee and she said yes. Furthermore, she brought along her friend! This was a long time ago, and we went out for coffee the next day (yes, literally). There was never a suggestion of anything "more". Of course my imagination was quite vivid! Mostly I learned a lot about dancer's lives and jobs, most of which others on this thread have already said. My impression has always been that dancing is a hard line of work. Some people are not cut out for it, but those who keep their cool can do quite well.
