  1. This may be a rather personal question for some but....

What is your preferred position when you go to bed - to sleep I mean?

Like, do you prefer one side of the bed over the other?

Do you sleep on your left/right side, tummy, back?

Are you an active sleeper (sleep walk, kick the sheets off, snore)?

Do you like lots of blankets or minimum?

Do you prefer a night light?

Glass of water by the bedside?

    Earplugs?

    Sleeping mask?

Jammies, underwear, socks, or dare I say it- au naturale?

    Door open or closed?

    Early riser or sleeper-inner?

Other curious habits you care to share?

  2. Ooohhh my.

Consent is a serious subject and must have a place somewhere between adults (and legally speaking - the state).

IMO - I think this article just went more than over the top. I'm struggling to find words to properly frame the article, but it seems to have confusing jumps from self image issues, pornification, sexualization, humiliation, male hatred, references to photographers.

Sure it would piss me off if someone published nude pics of me without my consent, but I wouldn't come close to the vitriol expressed in this article. I'm unsure of the conclusion. Flame me if you must.

    Thanks for sharing FA.

  3. Sorry to hear of your loss SG and thank you for sharing your story with us. Reaching that decision to put your friend to sleep is most difficult, but I believe it's a compassionate kindness. Not easy & I know you and your family are hurting.

My family went through a similar experience last year with our friend. The vet visited and helped us through the process.

I'm sure you have many fine memories. I hope they will help provide some comfort.

  4. When I'm bored completely beyond belief, I like to:

    1. Stand facing a wall - a few paces away

    2. Rest my head against the wall

    3. Let my arms dangle or maybe swing a little

    4. Moan out loud "I'm sooo bored!"

  5. If I decided to pay attention to my impulsive side and scare the absolute living CRAP out of myself, I would have to say a nice leisurely Wing Walk would top the list.

For some reason, for me, the scariest frigging things involve heights. Well, ok, heights and public speaking. Clowns too - but that was already covered in a different thread. Other than those 3 things, I'm just the bravest little slug!

How would you like to come with me on my wing stroll?....naked....and only if you're female....in red high heels or thigh-high leather boots. Ok, a push-up bra & g-string is also acceptable (just to keep warm). Leave the clown suit at home please.

    What's your extreme thrill?

  6. I had her # and saw her a few times after she left CMJ..

She told me that only the people who had her #, were supposed to have it? I guess she was not advertising...

She was great...and convenient, but the last time I texted she didn't answer...and I sort of moved on..I should try again...maybe she was just on holidays?

I think she just likes to move in and out of the biz when the mood or financial need strikes her. It may take awhile, but she'll pop up at some establishment. She definitely marched to the beat of her own drummer. I liked her cuz she had a challenging character. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for me - she was fun.

  7. The option to block just one person from a profile does not exist, the council has actually been discussing private profiles and are considering removing that feature all together as it seams to be being abused. The ladies use the profiles to help screen the guys (see what they have posted in the past) so when a guy blocks his profile it makes many of the ladies suspicious. When a lady blocks her profile it makes it hard for the guys to see as well (making this a frustrating on both sides). Not sure yet if the council will get rid of it all together but from the looks of it that may be the best choice.

In my line of business, there is an old saying:

"If it causes a problem - get rid of the problem".

    In other words, simplify things.

Options can be a nice thing, but they can't satisfy every condition. Sucks eh?

  8. What is your burner configuration on your grill?

If you can turn off one or 2 then you can do indirect cooking and get a decent result.

And I guess the other question is if you are looking for more authentic ribs like they would have at Ribfest or a more commercial version?

Baton Rouge btw are like an upscale McRib if comparing to something from a southern BBQ place.

Nothing wrong with them if you like the taste and texture but if you are looking for real BBQ then they don't really rank.

Apples and oranges kind of thing.

LOL - You hit the nail on the head: I'm a rank amateur, so I'm forced to use Baton Rouge as a baseline taste/texture level. I'm ashamed to fess up, but I wouldn't know an authentic BBQ rib taste if it slapped me upside between the ears. In answer to your question though, I wanna try different rib experiences.

Re my BBQ - I've got 3 burners. Two are located in the bottom, then I've got a strip burner at the back (which I rarely use). Also got a rotisserie feature. Can you do ribs rotisserie style?

  9. I have had much success with pork with one simple recipe:

oyster sauce, freshly grated garlic, freshly ground pepper,

marinated for a couple of hours in the fridge.

Sounds good - how do you cook 'em?

  10. I prefer to stare blankly into the on-coming lights of a slow motion train wreck (while standing squarely in the middle of the tracks). I don't consciously set myself up for stupid stuff - but "Life is what happens while your busy making other plans" (John Lennon).

Kind of a curious philosophy I know, but for me, the challenge is how to deal with a disastrous aftermath. People somehow find life between the moments of stepping from one landmine to another. Stress...of course. It's gonna happen - now why should I worry?

  11. I'm a carnivore. I like Ribs. Fall off the bone, sweet BBQ Pork ribs to be specific. Baton Rouge does 'em nice.

Last Summer, I decided to try to do BBQ Ribs. I found out after the fact that you should never boil ribs (if you're a novice). I ventured forward in ignorance and boiled 'em. Then I tried to BBQ them....what a mistake! Tough, no flavour. An unfortunate waste of ribs.

This year, I have a different plan. Unfortunately, I don't have a plan.

Here's what I've got to deal with:

Lots of raw White Eastern Cedar

    Natural Gas fired BBQ

    Pork Ribs

A disturbing willingness to make a marinade or BBQ sauce.

Can anyone propose any recipes or suggestions on how to do pork ribs using the above conditions?
