  1. Thank you everyone, especially Ms. Doll, I appreciate the kind words.
  2. That I know of almost all of the agencies will and with notice most independents will as well. You will want to check the 'rates' pages if you go with an agency as most will have an additional travel charge, as an example at Garden of Eden it is an additional $20 http://www.gardenofedenescorts.com/www/terms and of course you might want to be respectful of the time you are looking for a date, many ladies will not travel to Vaughan during rush hour as it can add an additional hour or more to their commute if they have to travel from the city or accross it. Your best bet is to simply find the lady (or ladies) that you are interested in meeting and contact them about a date, most can accomodate your request and if they are not willing/able to I am sure they can recommend someone in the industry that is comparable and reputable that may be able to assist you. Enjoy your stay!
  3. (posting on Cerb that is) It was in a question thread - Do SP's go Gaga over Clients? My post... I don't even remember making that post it was so long ago but the sentiment still rings true.
  4. I am going to disagree a bit with the guys, not that you are doing something wrong necessarily but if you don't see a decent conversion rate with clients and are spending a significant amount of time responding to inquiries without some sort of compensation for that time (which should be in your fee structure) then you may need to reevaluate your marketing to see if you are reaching your target audience. I've never looked at your business plan so please don't think this is a specific critique this is just some general observations about the industry, it's up to you to figure out what applies and what doesn't. Often I find that some ladies believe casting a very wide net is a good thing, they try to appeal to as broad an audience as possible in hopes that they will reach as many potential clients as possible, this can actually work against you. If I use myself as an example (I always do - just trying not to single anyone out) if I were to advertise on some websites, leave out my 2hr min. and my rates then I would find that I would have a significant number of inquiries however many, many clients would not be interested in the longer engagement and I would spend a lot of time responding to those clients and not be able to focus my time on the ones that are interested in the types of dates I offer. This would be poor time management and I am going to end up with less bookings than I would with a targeted marketing plan; my frustration with having to respond to so many inquires may begin to show in my responses, my time is divided thus I may not be able to include certain services (ie. concierge services, referrals, etc.) or I may simply not be able to respond to conversational emails which help establish an ongoing relationship. Another common issue is as you work in the industry you sometimes develop a bit of a niche, you establish yourself and without noticing it you may specialize in one type of date or another and subtly begin to dissuade potential clients that do not fit your date preferences. For myself this was a slow process but it became evident to me when I read a post on another review site criticizing me for declining a date that the potential client felt was a fair request. It was not until that time that I realized my responses to inquiries had changed over the months/years and I had developed my own interests and preferences and I needed to adjust my marketing to reflect that. In any regular job/career an annual review would provide the feedback you would need to see this sort of change but in this line of work it's often difficult to find objective outside feedback however it is important in order to effectively manage not only your time but your marketing. There are a lot of different areas that you might want to look at the above is just two examples, basically it all comes down to stepping back and taking a look at your marketing, the time you spend on an inquiry, the number of people that contact you that are in your target audience and your conversion rates. Evaluate it, ask for an outside opinion if needed and make a few key changes, if you don't see any improvement then ask for some help and go through the process again. I don't know if the above will be of any help but it never hurts to stop and take a look at your process every now and then, we all have areas we can improve on and sometimes just writing them out, looking at the actual numbers and getting feedback can change our perspective in areas where we least expect it. Good luck!
  5. I'm not saying it's not an honest mistake I'm just saying that when you keep an old number take a moment to see if the lady is still advertising before calling. It takes a minute and it might save you a little embarrassment and the person that you are calling a lot of discomfort, especially as the number can be recycled to anyone. As I mentioned even checking the number there are no guarantees because some ad sites are not legit and won't take a ladies advertisements down but a number of ladies that leave the industry will put that on their profiles, webites, etc. so that if you do take the time to look them up you can see they are not active and you know not to contact them. :)
  6. Always check the number before contacting the person in question and even then from my perspective I think it's best to be nondescript in an opening inquiry when done by phone/text. There are a number of websites that copy my information and ad so when I do decide to leave the industry some ads will be active even when I'm not simply because I didn't post them and I won't know where they are in order to deactivate them. Now I don't provide a phone number on my website but those I've seen already have it and if for some reason someone were to call my number I would appreciate if they were to simply call and say "Hi is this Kyra?" that way the person who gets my number can say "No sorry you have the wrong number." I doubt there are a lot of people out there that want to get the numerous random photos of penises, tales of extreme fetishes or 4am drunken texts looking for a quickie that seem to accompany a number of escorts numbers. Something to think about... http://www.thestar.com/business/article/1111869--roseman-bell-assigns-escort-service-number-to-young-girl
  7. I'm proud to be one of the odd beans out. ;) I think a lot of people feel a disconnect with the world around them and that's not necessarily a bad thing, that's what makes you question the status quo, that's what inspires change and that's what keeps us moving. If you didn't feel a certain disconnect, if you always felt like everything was going great then you'd never want to question why things were done a certain way, why the law was the way it was or why the government was making the choices it was. Our laws would stay the way they are, our policies would be the same and everyone would be in agreement and that is never a good thing. Our best decisions come from debate, when we disagree we discuss, we go back and forth with different viewpoints and we challenge each other to defend them and hopefully (though not often enough) we make the best decision from all of that debate. So if you don't feel like you are connected to the world around you then voice your opinion, tell people why and chances are there are others around that feel the same way and want to affect change as well and that is how it happens. It doesn't matter if it's small or large, that disconnect is important and that in itself is a community.
  8. Q: How many vegans does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Two, one to change it and one to check for animal ingredients.

  11. What a great post, as an English as a first language speaker I definitely have an advantage. I wouldn't even get past the first two lines if you did a similar poem in French *sigh* as languages are not my strong suit. Still I loved reading it thanks for sharing!
  12. What type of dishes are you looking for? Are you hosting a cocktail party, sit down meal, tapas style, family dining, etc. Is it vegetarian or vegan and are there other dietary restrictions you need to be mindful of (do you have any guests that are gluten, lactose, soy, nut, etc. sensitive/intolerent/allergic?) One of my favorite go to places when I need a recipe is Vegan Dad, I've never really had a bad choice from there. Not all of the recipes are for beginners so if you aren't used to working with tempeh or are like me and afraid of the pressure cooker then you will need to search a bit through the recipes but in general it's a great reference site. http://vegandad.blogspot.com/ I'd be happy to provide specific recipes and links but I'd probably need you to narrow it down a little first as vegetarian can be just about anything you want and making it flow with the rest of the meal will go a long way to making your guests feel comfortable instead of making them feel singled out for their food or lifestyle choices.

  14. In Winnipeg or FedEx? ;) Kylie travels by request and I may be biased but I don't think I'm the only one on here that thinks she's hot. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/album.php?albumid=3558 http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/album.php?albumid=3558&pictureid=22141
  15. If you don't already have them something like pet steps might be a good option, as a dog (or any of us) get older mobility becomes an issue and where they may have enjoyed lying in the center of your bed each night legs straight out and making you sleep around them it might become difficult to get up to the bed with older joints. As much as a good nights sleep is nice for you when your friend does leave you the memories of that older dog climbing up the steps, stretching out in the middle of the bed and pushing you out will keep you warm at night. I'm not a fan of introducing a new animal to an older companion, sometimes the stress of introductions can be difficult for older animals and the change in their living arrangements can make them uncomfortable. Also a lot of older dogs simply don't get along well with other older dogs and introducing a younger animal... well when I'm retired I don't want to have to worry about a toddler running around poking at me all the time, that's just not how I want to spend my golden years.
  16. This doesn't really qualify as kick ass but it certainly makes me smile each time I hear it (and I already own a comb)... and here's a couple more for you that are a little more in line with the thread theme...
  17. Bob. Oh and Doug has a pretty nice one too. Now my apologies to both Bob and Doug for naming them as most people know I actually prefer small to medium over big but still they do have the nicest packages I've seen. I think for Christmas I'm going to get them a beer... in a tree!
  18. I'm not a baker but my friend made these sometime ago and they were fantastic so I bookmarked the recipe in hopes someone would one day take pity on my horrible baking skills and bake them for me again. 1 cup softened virgin coconut oil 1 cup pumpkin puree 1 1/2 cups coconut sugar, maple sugar, or brown sugar 1/4 cup ground flax seeds 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 3 cups oat flour 1 cup rolled oats 3/4 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 teaspoon sea salt 3 to 4 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg In a large bowl beat together, using an electric mixer, the coconut oil, pumpkin, sugar, flax seeds, and vanilla extract. Add the remaining ingredients and beat together again. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. While your oven is preheating let your cookie dough rest on the counter for 20 minutes. The oat flour will absorb some of the liquid during this time which helps the cookies hold their shape. Drop by the spoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until slightly golden around the edges. Remove cookies and place them onto a wire rack to cool. http://www.nourishingmeals.com/2009/10/gluten-free-vegan-pumpkin-oatmeal.html
  19. I hate when I read this and want to smack myself for forgetting such great shows like Californication & Game of Thrones (just started watching it a couple months ago). I'm waiting until the cold winter months to start Blue Bloods, I'll find a few days of winter storms to hide indoors and marathon it - hopefully it's good or it'll make it all the more miserable. ;)
