  1. Looking at a closet and thinking, "Hmmmm, will I EVER wear this again?" Deciding, "No." Repeat until closet audit is complete. Realizing that you have filled 12 garbage bags with clothes and shoes and other stuff that you need to donate... then also realizing that half of the stuff you just gave away, you only wore ONCE. Doing the mental financial calculations is absolutely frightening.
  2. The silent one has returned. Folks, let's make this simple. There is absolutely NO point in making a censored words list that is available to the general audience. Besides, if you use the "preview post" function, you will know what you can't say. (Thus the substitution of the words "business operator.") We are all adults. We all know what double entendre is about. Unfortunately, so does the powers that be. You don't discuss any SPECIFIC activity in regard to actions between a client and a business operator. A recommendation? "I had a lovely evening with Madame X. She looked fantastic and we enjoyed our time together immensely. I look forward to future meetings." Pretty frickin' simple. The general discussion area will be a minefield for the time being BUT it will get better. Again, avoid using specifics in regard to the business. There is all sorts of sexy talk that can be had - it's conducted on all sorts of venues, not just escort sites. PMs? Use your brains people. That is the kind of stuff that CAN BE subpoenaed for disclosure. Communication for the purposes of prostitution is what everyone needs to avoid. PMs are to arrange meetings. NO DISCUSSION OF ACTIVITY. Websites. Everyone is guilty of being lazy and asking questions that probably are answered on a business operator's site. Go to the site. READ THE FAQs. Don't ask questions that could get either or both of you in trouble. Text Messaging. See the rules for PMs. Same thing. Bottom line... if you don't like the rules, you don't have to stay. CERB is a community that has to operate above board. If you don't like the rules, pack your bags and find a site that suits your sense of danger. Now... back to being an enigma.....
  3. Got a nice little message from a friend I haven't spoken to for ages. Her message popped up just at the right time... it gave me a smile!
  4. Inducement or not, Genevieve does bring up an amazing point. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. I had a conversation with a provider just last weekend, and she claimed that she was sick and tired of the way that the current government was ruining her life. I asked her how she voted in the last federal election, knowing that she was of legal age at the time of the last ballot. She claimed that she did not vote, that she thought it was stupid. I retorted that if that was the case, she had absolutely NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. If you don't cast a ballot, you can't bitch about what we get as a government. You obviously don't care. If you did care, you would do your damndest to get a government that cares about your needs. It's 15 months until October 2015, BUT.... we have the power to begin the end of this government. Find a local politician representing your views. Support them. Canvas for them. Fund parties other than the CPC. Talk to friends and colleagues about the disgust you have for the current government. Bill C36 is just one of the countless ways that the current government has disregarded the opinions and desires of the Canadian public. Research their legacy. It's BAD. In Ottawa alone they are responsible for the loss of well over 20,000 well paid jobs. They wanted to abolish the senate but filled it with their corrupt friends. They turned the cyber bullying legislation into a way to spy on EVERY ONE OF US. Joy Smith wants you to have to contact the internet companies to opt into porn. That's evangelical censorship. I am sure that you could find countless other fuck ups by the current government... from fighter jets to foreign workers, senate scandals to supreme court stacking... this is just a BAD GOVERNMENT. Sign up and support the other parties now to end the tyranny!
  5. That's illegal hun... and would immediately disqualify the vote. It's a great idea... but... all cell phones, especially ones that are equipped with cameras (99.9% of current cell phones) must be turned off in the ballot area.
  6. True or not, it definitely is an interesting thought. I think Canadians would really like to know what (or whom) CPC MPs are spending their Ottawa expense money on.... they certainly were intrigued by senators Duffy, Wallin and Brazeau. I also think that should a list exist or not, the POSSIBILITY of the existence of a list of CPC MPs that have acted as "perverts" and "paid rapists" during their term or terms of office would certainly raise eyebrows. I think Canadians would LOVE to see this list (whether or not it exists...) The fact that a list MAY exist might just cause a few MPs to resign... or certainly NOT show up to vote on the third reading in the fall. It might also cause a few CPC senators to reconsider their positions (although I am really sad that the Stephen Harper appointed CPC senator and former employee of Bare Fax, Patrick Brazeau, will not be sitting in judgment of this bill.) Now I wonder if the LIST could exist.... hmmmmm.
  7. another prostitution bill? I haven't even paid off my last one....
  8. Here's the thing... NONE of us have the personal integrity that we think we have. We sympathize and empathize with so many damn things be it the end to poverty, racial equality, gender equality, world peace, mental illness or whatever... but each of us is sitting here on this board trying to figure out how to spend money on sex. That's NOT a bad thing. That $200 -$1500 or whatever you are spending could put clothes on someone's back. It could put groceries in someone's kitchen. It could go a long way into the treatment or cure for heart disease, cancer, HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, mental illness. It could fund legal battles for all sorts of social issues. But you are spending that money on your PENIS. Now your money will help someone pay rent or mortgage or child care expenses. It will put food on someone's table. It will help make someone else's life a lot easier. That's not a bad thing. That's a really good thing. But it's not altruism. It's not charitable. It's a pay for play. It's funding a small business. It's a mutually beneficial relationship. Now... tell me again about integrity. We have high ideals and beliefs about getting things right in the world and we go out and blow money on getting blown. It's not just politicians. It's not just the police or the church or public employees or anyone else you want to target as having no integrity. It's all of us. So when you point the finger of criticism at people remember there are 3 fingers on that same hand pointing right back at you (unless you are a contortionist and deliberately point your finger like some kind of circus freak.) Bottom line? We all compromise our personal integrity. We all compromise our ethical integrity. We may not even think of it... we may be so goal oriented that we are oblivious to the fact that we do and say things that are so contrary to what we believe. It's much harder to stand back and judge when you put things in perspective. Out of this context, think of it this way. When you walk to Tim Hortons on a break and the homeless guy asks for spare change does your personal integrity win or does your thirst for a coffee win?
  9. Sitting at my computer, a cool breeze blowing through the window and live music care of Lady Gaga blasting 4 blocks away.... downtown living has its perks!
  10. Sitting in my bedroom, playing on the computer and listening to Journey live... as clear as a bell.... playing live at Bluesfest!
  11. To the bolded part in RED... yup. Naomi Sayers will be speaking to the committee. She has intimate knowledge of the business and is as smart as a whip. I am not sure if any other people representing sex workers will be there BUT I am sure that Naomi will represent a lot of interests on both the worker and the client side.
  12. I learned once more that competitive kitten tossing has been left off the list of sports that will be featured at the 2016 Olympics. Whew. The Azerbaijani delegation was really hoping to medal in that, but I think it's not fair to the kittens.
  13. This is almost a really cool thing... but.... I live downtown. On nights in early July when you don't need the ac on, it's really cool to open up the balcony doors and let the breeze come in to naturally cool my place and watch a little tv .... BUT.... ... last night was the opening night of Bluesfest. I like Bluesfest. It was country rock night. Not my favourite genre of music, but ... okay. Soooo... my friend was over and we were finally getting her caught up on Game of Thrones.... and BOOOOOM. TWANG. Holy schmidt. The volume at Bluesfest combined with the atmospheric conditions were the ideal mix for sound carrying. I didn't have to pay to hear live music. It was in my living room. IT was loud.... and it made hearing the "Red Wedding" episode (season 3, episode 9... perhaps the most shocking of all episodes) really difficult. Sooo... up with the TV volume. Closed went the balcony door. On went the AC. I just hope that when the bands I wanna hear are on stage, I can take advantage of my balcony to hear some premium live music absolutely free....
  14. If you go about 15 to 20 years earlier, that can would have needed a can opener... and you always did the same thing... one big hole for drinking, another smaller one to let the air in....
  15. Interesting article in the Globe and Mail today about "MacKay being open to amendments" for C36 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/government-open-to-amendments-to-proposed-prostitution-law-peter-mackay/article19458774/ Best of all, our ally from Gatineau, Francoise Boivin, has publicly stated that she "wants to wait to hear from witnesses before recommending what specifically needs to be amended." I know we have an excellent spokesperson speaking on behalf of sex workers in Naomi Sayers and with the combination of Francoise and Naomi, there is still hope that positive changes can and will be made before this behemoth is unleashed.
  16. http://www.sfexaminer.com/sanfrancisco/sf-based-escort-website-myredbook-siezed-by-fbi/Content?oid=2830030 It seems many indie providers in the US will be scrambling - the FBI has seized MyRedbook.com and arrested the operators. The timing of the seizure seems too coincidental, especially with the provisions written into C36.... which begs the question: Were the two Departments of Justice in the US and in Canada in collusion regarding the framing of the current bill?
  17. I've followed Grace for a few years on Twitter.... she's a character. If you have ever wanted to know what a stream of consciousness sounds like, read Grace when she is on a roll. She has been in the biz in Oz for quite a while... and if you have Twitter, I strongly recommend following @GraceBellavue.
  18. Megan Walker is nothing but an obnoxious bully that can't let any rational debate occur. I listened to the segment in its entirety, and each and every time that Naomi attempted to speak, Megan was there with a louder, more aggressive voice in an attempt to drown out any possible argument to her anti-sex, anti-male manifesto. The irony is that Megan's brand of radical feminism now shares equal footing on the same ground with the ultra Christian element like Joy Smith... and neither of them is willing to hear any argument that will break their fragile grasp on reality.
