  1. I was searching and found this amazing thread that just died after 5 pages.... ohhhh but there is so much more material!!!!!!!!!!! Braveheart - the first battle Stephen (the crazy Irish guy) to William Wallace: "God tells me he can get me out of this mess, but he's pretty sure you're fucked." Gladiator - the opening battle scene Maximus (Russell Crowe): "At my signal, unleash hell." Office Space: a classic exchange Samir: No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Na-ghee-na-na-jar. Nagheenanajar. Michael Bolton: Yeah, well, at least your name isn't Michael Bolton. Samir :You know, there's nothing wrong with that name. Michael Bolton: There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys. Samir: Hmm... well, why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael? Michael Bolton: No way! Why should I change? He's the one who sucks. and the last one for today... From Forgetting Sarah Marshall Brian: You don't need to put your P in a V right now. Peter Bretter: No, I need to B my L on someone's T's.
  2. Two of my faves!!the incomparable Mia Bella :smileysmontrefesse: and... Belle Bordeaux :smileysmontrefesse:
  3. Carrie ... I stopped doing drugs in the 80's... now I know why they prescribed them in the first place.... Additional Comments: Ohhh I found this quote from "Zack and Miri make a Porno"... it soooo fits this thread... Zack Brown: What's your name? Lester: Lester. Lester the Molester Cockenschtuff. Zack Brown: Wow. That's a great porn name. Lester: I get to pick a porn name? Then I want to be called Pete Jones.
  4. I have a couple of amazing Punjabi friends that laugh their asses off when driving through rural Quebec... we pass houses that boast "Pain Chaud"... and I thought it only to mean "hot bread"... but in Punjabi the sign means "sister fucker!!!!!!!!"
  5. That's a lot to work with but here goes.... The "repackaging" process in any industry is fraught with dangers... 25 years ago we lost Coke to New Coke which became Coke, and old Coke was dropped until people screamed and old Coke became Coke Classic... and now is Coke again. It was a marketing disaster that the company is still feeling. Sometimes circumstances necessitate change. You will still have your loyal clientele, regardless of whether you are Chrissy Green, Taylor Moon or Griselda Jigglybottom (although I do not recommend the latter.) You may lose some of the casuals but then again you may gain new ones. I think as long as you can justify the change, it really doesn't matter. On the flip side, many of the hobbyists have experienced hellish experiences as rookies with that other place (which shall remain nameless.) You never know if Melanie who became Amanda is now Rachel or Dawn. That is the risk... will people think you are hiding from a bad reputation? When you add the caveat "formerly" I think you are putting yourself in good stead... you are not afraid of the past, and are moving towards a bright future. Just my opinion...
  6. I grew up in southwestern Ontario... we had the Good Humor Man... As for the milk man and the bread man... Yup and yup!!!!! I think the last time the milk man came to the house was in the 70's... but if you look at all the houses that were built before 1970, pretty much every one had a milk box and a bread box near the entrance!!!!!
  7. Belle ... you have tweaked an amazing memory!!!!!!! Kids running like addle pated idiots hearing the bell of the Good Humor truck ... losing the ability to communicate in any discernible language, screaming at their moms for two things, money and the words "ice cream." Mind you, come to think of it... today, it's like running to the ATM... mentally screaming "money" and "boobies." Oh we never grow up. Lick and stick tattoos Black cat gum... like double bubble only licorice flavoured The original "6" The Farrah poster Major Matt Mason

It is a great pic... I need to find that laundromat!!!
  9. Jeebus Boner.... I never knew I had an identical twin.
  10. Get the fur-lined ones... they are a lot more fun!
  11. I really suggest that everyone gets to know the Charter of Rights... it is quite a valuable tool. for this questions specifically, the answer is in section 10: 10. Everyone has the right on arrest or detention a) to be informed promptly of the reasons therefor;b) to retain and instruct counsel without delay and to be informed of that right; andc) to have the validity of the detention determined by way of habeas corpus and to be released if the detention is not lawful. Not much wiggle room!!!
  12. woohoooo!!!!! You are welcome anytime hun!!!
  13. Geez Meg... we were talking about TV and you had to turn the whole thing back to sex... ummm... wait.... now that is a much better idea!!!! I guess for me the whole GFE is about the air of passion... reckless abandon. Ultimately it is different for everybody... for me, I like the slow build up, the increased heightening of the senses. Playful kisses... hands in the hair... a stroke on the cheek. GFE is seduction coupled with an emotional bond whether real or fantasized. after that... I would slap your bum gently and ask if you could bring me a sandwich... heheheheheh
  14. Well to be honest Cindy... I have an extra chair... you could have come out in your underwear with a drink and a cigar and joined me... that would have been better!!!!
  15. Drive Ins??? There are still a few.... but as has been so eloquently pointed out before, they are getting fewer and fewer. I take my kids for a couple of weeks to the family cottage on Lake Huron every summer and our Tuesday night treat is to drive to the Owen Sound Drive In - where for $10 a car you get to see two big release movies. The first time they went they were absolutely amazed ... "we can watch movies in the car in our jammies??" ohhh and there are always more things... Emergency!!! Johnny Gage and Roy DeSoto... The original cast of SNL Jukeboxes Eaton's Christmas catalogue When the Cookie Monster ate cookies with reckless abandon... Johnny Carson
  16. Ohhhh... don't get me wrong.... I do love the show. I have seasons one through six sitting on my DVD shelves. As a divorced guy there is so much to relate to on that show... whether sometimes you feel like Alan or Charlie.... sometimes even Herb. Ohhhh and here is one for the RHAG.... Candy... Charlie's former GF and Alan's former wife....
  17. Gotta say it... I have been comped and have paid forward as well. As has been said a few times earlier, it all depends on your relationship. The comps came from a regular who called up and then popped over... but she knew that we would settle up the next day over coffee or a snack. Same person was short for a bill and I anted up to help out... she came over a few days later and made good. Now I wouldn't do this with just anyone... I think it has to be one of those comfort zones where your gut reaction tells you it will be okay.
  18. One of the BEST articles on this comes from one of our own!!!! Read Erin's article in this thread... it is enlightening, witty and very well written! http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27670 Click the link in the first post!
  19. I loved both of those!!!! The Pop shoppe used to rent out abandoned gas stations with big service bays to store their pop!!!! And Hawaiian Punch??? It was either that or Koolaid or Freshie...does anybody remember Freshie??? Carrie... I think the town that I grew up in, in southwestern Ontario had one of the last authentic "old school" A&Ws. You drove up, read the menu, flashed your headlights (not your headlights Carrie, the car's!!!) and the waitress would rollerskate to your car and take the order. She would return on the skates with the order!!! That one closed in 83 or 84. What about those old mom and pop variety stores with the popsicle freezer and the popsicle splitter on the counter so you could share the other half with your friend??? Hostess potato chips in the big bag with two or three individual bags (variety pack) inside! Adam West as Batman *biff* *bam* *pow* The Night Stalker with Darren McGavin Carol Burnette tugging her ear as she finished her show... Queen Cheesy 80's horror movies (pretty much anything starring Bruce Campbell) Marcia Brady
  20. Okay... since we're traveling down that road... I get home from work, go immediately to the bedroom. I lose the pants. I lose the nice shirt. I lose the shoes and socks. I am now in my boxers and tshirt. This is how I live. Oh and since I am home, I have to pee. I sit down. Like a girl. Standing up and aiming takes effort and concentration. In fact, unless I am in a rush, regardless of whether I am home or not, I sit down. Like a girl. Oh and I nap. I am serious about naps. I forego meals for naps. Tonight, in my boxers and my tshirt, I went out on my balcony. I sat in my comfy chair, I had a corona in one hand and a Monte Cristo #5 in the other. I sat in the dark on my balcony, in my boxers smoking and drinking. Those, my friends, are guilty pleasures.
  21. We just had a lot more hair... than we do... now.One thing I don't miss is what was then known as Hockey hair, or by the Latin term "Mulletus Doofus" The 80's ... yeah I miss em. Great music... and I could fit into a pair of pants with a 31" waist and 34 leg...
  22. Meg... I was the master of the mixed tape. I didn't hurt that I worked in a record store when I was a kid and could get any single I wanted, but man oh man I made some creative masterpieces. The biggest talent was knowing exactly when to hit the pause button to start and end the recording.... As for the Pythons... BRILLIANT! more Britcoms I miss... Some Mothers do 'ave em (starring the Phantom's own Michael Crawford) On the Buses Man about the House (the original Three's company) Jeebus... I am retrograding here... soon I will comb up the sides of my hair, bring down the front and do a Flock of Seagulls look... with the complimentary rat tail in the back!!!
  23. ... and unless no one is there to give you the pirate look.... all that milk bag, milk carton, juice carton, cranked AC, duvet snuggling book reading is all perfectly acceptable!!!
