  1. Autocorrect :) I disagree, here. Many poorly-written ads convey a very clear message to me, and that message is: "I don't give a shit." They might get a momentary curl of the lip, but that's about all. I should add: there's a big difference between the occasional typo, or someone who's working in their second or third language, and someone who just can't be bothered.
  2. Randy ------, lead singer of Lamb of God, was arrested in Prague this summer, in connection with the death of a fan last time the band played there. Lamb of God - Desolation Edit: Okay, that's --really-- odd. The guy's surname is B-l-y-t-h-e, and I have no clue why CERB converts that to dashes.
  3. Also... I've sometimes used CERB's notes page to store posts and PMs that are under construction/further consideration :)
  4. Which isn't, of course, the song the Eagles are best known for. But it does make me think of another place to stay... Elvis Presley - Heartbreak Hotel
  5. Great to hear! Why not add to her reco thread?
  6. By that logic, they'd already be offering FS to compete with the indy SPs and agencies :) I think the MPs and the indy MAs who stick to offering, er, "traditional" MA services will probably survive.
  7. And in one of life's entertaining little coincidences, iTunes - which I have on random play while I'm reading CERB - has just thrown some Bob Dylan at me. Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts http://vimeo.com/21588901
  8. To echo Whiteman, I am also concerned, I am not offended but surprised to read MP's and CERB members be able to post such graphic details, and this is not the first ad or recommendation I have read in a week. The last thing we want is LE radars homing in on the MP's providing such services. Discretion must be paramount and recommendations read only amoung members. Please don't call me a prude, just lookin out for everyone's interest. She's indy, and I think that makes a lot of difference. If the lady being discussed was working at a MP, then yes, I'd absolutely agree. But independent ladies are bound by no rules save the ones they choose to make themselves, and can do what the hell they like. Nobody bats an eyelid if BBBJ is mentioned while we're talking about someone who advertizes FS. The only reservation I'd have if this was a YMMV service that she didn't advertize to everyone, but it doesn't sound like that's the case here.
  9. It'd be real downer if you got cut while shaving, though...
  10. ...officially, this is "The Games of the XXX Olympiad". It strikes me that there are some notable omissions from the sports being contested... :)
  11. Thieves? Here's another one. Wolfmother - The Joker And The Thief
  12. Much good advice here. Of course, even when you've made it absolutely crystal clear in your ads and on your website that you don't do very short encounters, you'll doubtless still get requests for them... but you can probably do the same with those as you do with anyone else who fails the basic reading comprehension test :)
  13. I disagree here. I think the current government pays quite a lot of attention to public opinion... but that also involves not only looking at what people think, but how strongly they hold those opinions and whether doing something that people don't like is likely to cost them votes, or turn a stay-at-home slacker into a voter for the opposition. Another factor is how much of a fuss they think the opposition parties and advocacy groups are likely to kick up. I also think that the electoral impact of a prostitution debate would uniquely hard to gauge. I don't know what proportion of guys actually visit SPs, but I'd bet quite a bit that nobody else does either, as it's not the sort of thing that people are going to be honest about even when talking anonymously to a pollster. But it --is-- the kind of thing that people may vote on in the privacy of the polling booth, although those whose votes were swung by the issue would probably find some other public justification for their change of heart. Is the government prepared to gamble on a debate where the electoral impact is that hard to estimate? I have no idea, but Harper has never struck me as the gambling type. I don't think it'll be an issue, to be honest. If the SCC does rule in their favor, they'd still be subject to things like local zoning regulations and business licenses. I'm sure that if bawdy houses did become technically legal, many councils would immediately introduce licensing requirements for them, and then proceed to hand out a grand total of zero. In the meantime, most SPs would carry on as they do now and LE would continue to ignore the issue unless there were complaints that forced their hand. Of course they do. That's one of the joys (or curses) of the parliamentary system: a party with a decent majority can do what the hell it likes. But any party that comes to power will probably want to stay there, which tends to act as a strong moderating influence.
  14. I like RG because he was recently kind enough to let me "borrow" his wife for a bit. Thanks, RG!
  15. Well, not one of mine, fortunately, but since we have a thread on it... Back in my school days, I had a few friends who were medical students. One of them came back from the hospital one day and told us of a guy who had come in with... er... broken erectile tissue in his manhood. Apparently there's really only one way to do this, which is to be doing it up against a wall (or in a similarly precarious position) and to drop the lady mid-coitus. Ouch. Of course, that's not funny. The funny bit was the guy's excuse: if he was to be believed, he sustained the injury by falling off a ladder while painting the ceiling. Exactly why he had a hard-on while painting the ceiling in the nude was, alas, never explained....
