Bear in mind that unless you're very wealthy, you're not going to keep your favorite provider in business single-handed; and if she leaves the business because it's not worthwhile any more, you lose too - in fact, you lose more than the rest of us. The best thing you can do for someone who you'd like to carry on seeing is to do what you can to ensure she builds a successful business... and yes, this will involve seeing other clients. Recommendations are a good way to make this happen. The idea that writing a reco might backfire because your ATF will be unavailable is probably not actually something you need to worry about. There are some who, even if they have had public reco's in the past, no longer want that so any passing of info needs to be in private to keep with their wishes.
