I need some help what do you do when someone starts stalking you and sending you threatening emails. They are posting negative things about me and ruining my client base. I am a private person and have a career outside of escorting and I do not want worlds to collide. How do I handle this. Ignoring isn't working , I don't reply to any of his emails or demands.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, sorry you're having to go through such a stressful and unfair situation.

My advice is to go to the police. I know you mentioned you are a private person, but it likely is your best bet for any resolution, and I don't think doing so should compromise your career outside of escorting.

I don't think stalking in this situation would be any less likely to deserve and get police attention than any other. Any decent police force should see it the same way, I'd hope!

Best of luck!

I had this happen and ended up having to change all my details... I lost a lot of clients and all my reviews. It sucked but honestly, it got him away from me and that's what mattered.

I agree though, if it is serious and threatening go to the police. They will help you take care of it and fortunately it should stay pretty quiet.

Best of luck!

Sorry you have to deal with this.

Call the cops. What we do is technically not illegal - even with the new laws. However what this asshat is doing is illegal. I recommend looking for a sex crimes officer who is the sex worker liaison and working with them to get this prick to back off.

As for the things he's saying online: can't do much but anyone with a brain knows a lot of the guys on certain boards live to write hateful things, so don't let it get to you. Just put a friendly post up that he has been harassing you and the police are involved so his posts should be discredited and membership revoked.

Not to be a hardassed bitch or anything, but guys only get away with shit because we let them. A lot of ladies are too afraid to call the cops or have the police involved in any way. By taking action against this guy, you are sending a message to everyone. A message that more of us need to send, and more of them need to receive.

Sorry to hear this is happening to you. I had the same thing happen in the fall this person just wouldn't stop and is still around sending me hate mail every time I post an ad. Comments on every single thread about me and is a member of this board. Try to ignore it hopefully the person will eventually move on.

Personally from experiences I don't find police helpful at all.

Plain and simple, call the cops. This is a crime.

As for this, not a hell of a lot you can do. You could go down the long road of defamation but chances are it'll be futile.

I'm not sure what type of threats you're talking about, but if he's threatening physical harm well of course that's a crime. If he's threatening to "out" you unless you do whatever for him, then that's extortion plain and simple, and a crime as well. If he's just threatening to "out" you and asking for nothing, well, I'm not sure what that is...harassment maybe?

To one Lady from another,

I have been flagging these posts for you as much as I can. I am so sorry this is happening to you. I have a few of mine as well. We are both in same city and if you ever need to chat, give me a call, txt what ever.

Yes call the cops, we have many internet laws in place for this type of stuff. And as Emily stated, your not breaking the law technically.

if these posts are going up on ad sites, like cl or bp, you need to contact support and report it to them directly thru their abuse @ or support @ flagging is pointless, it has limited results. You need to use the appropriate report abuse forms and make your case, even if a flagged ad gets pulled, you need the actual account holder blocked

It has to be dealt with and these sites, even if it doesn't seem like it, will support you. they have firm rules about defamation comments, harassment, and also copyright infringement if the person is also posting copies of your ad or pics.

You can successfully get them blocked from using the site the way they are currently using it. If they are an sp relying on the site for their own advertising, it may result in them not being able to use the site again. that's their karma

In the case of any of the things listed above, you can't ignore this. ignoring tells them that they are getting away with it, it will not stop them. that is why good/great moderation on review sites is crucial, when a site has no mods like cerb mod, defamation is allowed, encouraged, and there is no recourse for the victim. most sites tho have at least minimal knowledge of cyber laws and don't put their sites at risk of lawsuits, or LE scrutiny.

but first you need to report it, and support your report with evidence. countering posts with your own comments on the issue is also vitally important, exactly the same way you did her today you have to do on any site where you see this happening to you.

people are being arrested and charged all the time for online extortion, harassment, bullying and defamation. but the first step is that the victim reported them. LE can't stop this until you start that.
