Probably because here on Lyla you can read about the women on their profile pages, click links to their websites to learn more about them, read recommendations here, go to chat and converse with them.

 

BP has none of that so the BP searchers come to Lyla to beg, borrow and pray for any info on the BP women.

 

Seems much easier to stick with a provider here since a wealth of knowledge exists.

I find it incomprehensible. Also, not only are there these goofy requests, but even after they've been directed to the Cowboy's Diary, tineye, google image search results and had all the obvious questionable phrases pointed out the request for info continue to be posted....

BP is a mixed bag, and not really for those who don't want to gamble. I agree that in this era where the whole dynamics of the industry have changed, it's better to stick with ladies one knows are reputable. That's not to say that there aren't diamonds in the rough, but it is disappointing that more of them don't appear to be on sites such as this.

There's more than a few on BP that don't give or post their exact stats, including real photos.

 

Here on the other hand, if someone dares to post fake or stolen photos, they will get banned pretty quickly.

I have met lots of good providers on BP. There's plenty of good reasons why perfectly good providers choose to post their ads there. An obvious reason being they've never heard of Lyla. Before the laws changed, you used to see lots of providers who would advertise on both.

 

You definitely have to watch out for scams, but I've used BP many times and never been scammed. You just have to use your head most of the time.

Also, everyone seems to be assuming that there are loads of SPs on Lyla everywhere in the country. I'm guessing a lot of those who think that are from Ottawa. Not a slam against Ottawa, but recognition that there ARE lots of Lyla girls in Ottawa. Check out the Newfoundland listings... That whole idea of "land of plenty" goes right out the window. That's a reason why people turn to BP. And why they ask about them here. You work with what you have, and you try to do decent research. It's not always about finding the best deal. I completely agree that in certain areas, your options are limited so BP becomes necessary. There are good reputable women who don't use (or underuse) LYLA. I think another reason is the thrill of the hunt and looking for something new. The new girls always get a lot of attention. Well said. Many sps use both, or all and any advertising option. For us this is work, and we are going to try to keep busy, which means posting ads. We have more room to create a presence here, and the opportunity to post general comments, which is great. but depending on where you are, either it is busier, just as busy, or not even close to as busy as bp.

 

bp also gives the illusion of more choice, more quantity, more options. The reality is there aren't 'more' sps, there are just more ads by the same finite number of sps. There are career clickers, the guys who simply sit there, hit refresh, click on ad after ad after ad looking for the sp unicorn. after time, any sp who has more than one ad up in a day, will tell you they are getting calls from this same guy a couple times a day. never sees anyone, just calls all the ads, until he's calling the same people again and again.

 

Illusion of quantity, illusion of choice. And for some guys, they can't seem to just choose the one that is the best option when they find her, they still think there is someone better out there. i.e. sp unicorn.

Well not too many advocate of backpage as voice their opinions on this one. I feel like a lone-wolf right now :( As mention above, the thrill of the hunt is a reason for sure. The excitement of the unknown. Because there are several travelling super-hot pornstar style escorts. Lack of ebony selection in Ottawa is one I've heard a few time. Cheaper rates maybe. Higher chance of getting an incalls in a hotel. More discretion as you won't run into the escort you had sex with last night in the grocery store while you're with your wife and kids! There are more reasons I can't think of right now. Regardless, we all have reasons and our preferences, and that's the way it should be :) I can guarantee that the majority of us that discusses backpage escorts on this site are the ones that don't fall for scams ;)

It is likely that most turn to BP for it, atleast on the face of it, is a cheaper no fuss option. It is a different story that most BP options are fake and dangerous too .. or that is what I read from most of the posts here.

As someone new to the community, I don't think it's a matter of "why?" as it's a matter of knowing what actually exists out there as a reliable resource.

 

You could start looking via something you have some experience with: "I sold a couch on .... look at that "body rubs" tab over on the right - sounds interesting." From there, you're hit with a wall of dubious photos and messages that are more emoticons than words. Is it a scam? Is she real? Is a cop going to repel out of the ceiling after I say I like her boobies?

 

Maybe you find one that looks promising, so you start trying to find reviews, and next thing you know, you're a member on Lyla. You still have a thing for that first one (and I hope to meet her soon.) But wow - so many beautiful women in the city!

Most girls I know use both places, because the more visibility the better! There are lots of wonderful girls on backpage and here as well! Backpage does allow as many bumps per day as you can afford, but not having a character limit here means girls can be much more expressive!
