In Thunder Bay, the SP's here have their work name, and if someone else tries to use that name, they'll usually get a call saying that name is already in use. (unless its travelling girls) How does it work in other cities? is it the same thing? Or do girls add on to the name they want? or does it matter? just curious.

I've never had an issue, and lord knows there are allot of Emily's out there. The thing with the name is, even if there are 20 others out there with the same name you have to make it your own.

I can't see how anyone has the time to call other people and tell them to change there name. The name itself does not make the gentlemen book, its the experience and qualities of the woman behind the name that does.

I would say, when choosing a name, do a bit of research to find out if there are other SPs in your area with the same name. If the name is already taken, and you are unaware of it and find out later, you should really change it.

It's professional courtesy. Think of it this way. Would you want another girl using your name if someone did it to you. The problem with taking another girl's name is clients may confuse you which isn't cool. Also, if she has a bad rep, it may cost you. If she's got a jail house mentality, she may come after you.

There are literally thousands of girls names out there. Not need to use the same name, especially in a smaller city like yours.

Just my two cents.

BTW, I have seen many Asian MP ads advertising Angelas - I don't think in that case, clients could be confused. If anyone challenges me, I can say I've used this name since 1997.

That's one of the reasons I picked a last name as well.

Sara McQuestion or SaraMQ

If there were a lot of Saras, it would be easy to find me.

I used to go by Erin, but felt that it wasn't unique enough, nor did it represent my personality.

So I changed it. There are many Erin's but there is only one Berlin!

I agree Sara, a second or last name helps a lot in big markets (like Montreal) or if the escort does a lot of inter-city touring.

In small markets, it is only polite to avoid previously taken names or to avoid easily confused names.

I am in Ottawa, use the name Vanessa, and I really wish I would have picked a less common name because there are like a gazillion Vanessa's....a name change may be coming soon ;)

I would never think of calling out any other Vanessa sp's who came out after me, that's a touch too aggressive I think...

What I do think would be irratating tho is if someone by chance choose the same name as you AND happend to look like you and be shaped like you......but eventually I am certain the gents would figure out who's who

I think a phone call is deserved if someone new was using a copied name maliciously...

Like slightly changing it so that clients may find her, the new one,

instead of the one that has already earned notoriety.

Then at that time, yes it deserves a phone call or something...

I don't know, I'd be really mad or flattered, but then angry.

I earned my rep, so should she.

It shows a lack of creativity as well, or a tad bit of stalker-syndrome...

If someone came out as Farrah McQuestion or FMQ, I'd totally call her and have words.

*(Or fly over there and show her who has the real superpowers... Hehehe!)

yeah, thunderbay is small, which is why i mentioned the phone call thing, i havent heard anyone be aggressive about saying the name is taken, like here, theres usually only 5-10 ads in the newspaper tops, so, theres really alot of choice with names, and i notice that the gentlemen here will look for their preferred SP's name, because phone numbers arent always easy to remember. so, does it get confusing when you have like 10 vanessa, or emilys or whatnot? this question is for the guys too!

Ok yes, that would deserve a phone call or email...I go by first name only, and it is such a common one...but yes for sure, those with a first and last..that would be flat out copying..it's easy enough to overlook a single name, especially if it's a common one..but when it's that close, your right, a call would be in order...

I started out using Evans as a last name. Some clients prefer certain ethnicities, so this was one way to get that across, in addition to distinguishing between me and other Samanthas.

I wish I had taken the time to research a bit before choosing my escort name.

I chose Jade because my "real" name starts with a J and because my eyes are green. It soon became apparent tho that many associate the name Jade with Asian ladies.

I added the MILF, for obvious reasons, but still quite often put "Irish" in my title just to make it clear that I am Caucasian.

However, 2.5 yrs into my career, it would be difficult to just "change" names. I would think that would be construed as trying to be deceptive or pass yourself as someone new on the scene (like the agencies that constantly change names & "ownership")

I can't speak for the ladies here but when a guy joins a site such as CERB, the internet tells you that the name is not available! At least you get a nice gentil call!

Well having worked for an agency in Tb I can say that they will call you if they think you stole their name!! Also a big problem in Tb is agancys will change your name to suit their wants. Seen this first hand, which is terrible for the gentleman as it is miss leading and generally bad for the bus.

Indys their will also chime in if they feel threatened in any ,and these generally are not friendly phone calls!!

Just my two cents from first hand knoledge, hope things have changed.
