I know that many of the gentlemen I see also see escorts, and that many are self-described "massage-only guys". I'm very curious, so here's a poll :) It is intended for massage hobbiests in Ottawa.

Good question, Megan. It will be very interesting to see the result. I answered that I preferred massage, but I'm not really sure why. I see both as a social positive, but think I prefer massage because it's lower risk and maybe there's less pressure to "perform".

So far I've only tried Massages.. maybe some day I'll move to escorts, but Massage is the way the go for now. So relaxing, sensual and exciting all at the same time... I've had amazing experiences, and with some many great ladies within Ottawa offering Massages, I don't see me stopping anytime soon...

There are in fact a fair number of ladies that will/can accomodate the best of both worlds. Generally speaking you will need to visit an indy MA, as being more private, they tend to have less volume and therefor more energy, attention to detail etc.

 

Not to say a "spa" isn't a good option, as CMJ has a lot of good ladies who can offer the best of both sides aswell (and likely others but I have not visited them)

 

As for the thread itself... I enjoy both. Sometimes I feel the need for some sexual excitement but really crave the relaxation of a massage and visit an MA.

I very much like the social aspect of massage. I understand it's not for everyone (I do get the occasional "Why are you talking to me? Just rub my dick" guy).

 

I like to be open and honest about what I'm good at and what I provide. I used to have on my website that I offered "Private lapdancing, erotic massage, and companionship."

 

Unfortunately many people interpreted companionship as full service, luckily BEFORE they booked with me but it still was frustrating. :(

Although not a Ottawa boy (actually smalltown Ontario boy) I'd thought I put in my two cents.

When I started this "hobby" (and I really don't like that term) I was looking for and only considered SP's But as my awareness grew of other facets of the industry, primarily through CERB, I wanted to try new things...specifically erotic massage. The opportunity came to try it sooner than later (and thank you Megan for travelling) and my view of escorts vs massage is that if I lived in a major city, it would likely be a 60/40 split between seeing SP/MA

And irrespective of whether I see a SP or a MA, for me, a large part of the encounter is the social side.

One more thing, I don't view this as a hierarchy of services, what a SP provides and what a MA provides are different services, but one isn't greater than the other

Well, I'm one of the "there is something missing in my marriage" guys. I'm currently a massage only guy, but the reason is that I initially started by seeing a couple of escorts and I was not satisfied with the experience, something was missing. I found that the escorts relied too heavily on the full service aspect. I found that massage providers worked much harder at creating an erotic experience. They were much better at using atmosphere, eyes, words, hands and other body parts to provide pleasure. They are better at stimulating both the mind and body and realize that men have more than one erogenous zone. Although now that I've found CERB I'm thinking more and more about trying escorts again...

Up until now I have visited with one MA several times and one SP a few times and like RG said, they are each for a different experience. I have no set schedule or plan I follow, I just take the opportunity when I can and what my budget will allow. Actually I'm kidding myself when I say budget. I won't indicate how many encounters I've had over the last two or three years since I started hobbying, but I will say that about 80% of them were with escorts, and the remaining 20% were with MA's. Of the escorts, it was very rare to find someone that you really clicked with, and there were only a couple who I really clicked with and whom I had an erotic encounter. I would say with the MA's, every encounter was very erotic and there was a closeness one normally doesn't receive. It usually helps when the mood is properly set right from the beginning with candles, wine, showering together. The only thing missing is an MA that loves to kiss; that would be the ultimate.

Hmmmm, although it wasn't in the choices to vote on - I am in the camp of those who love an erotic massage that "magically" (and surprisingly) turns into an SP experience.

I'm just starting to come out of my shell sexually as I'm still a very young man, and as such I have only done massage so far and enjoyed it very much. In my experiences some people do look at mp's differently than sp's. I always get a little mad when I here sayings like wham bam thank you mam refered to sp's. Both experiences are different but I think they are special in their own way. Having done both I find I connect with people on a deeper level as an sp. Maybe because I am alone with this person and that could be a completely different conversation. Do you find that you connect better with clients in a business setting or one on one and why?I find massaging CAN be harder than sping because there is a lot of intimate connections missing. sorry to go a little off topic but I do see people judging mp's against sp's and I ask myself why? Not only clients but the girls to. To me it is crazy because we should be working together. I think the "bad" experiences unfortunately taint those providers who actually "do" offer a quality service.

 

The wham-bam-thankyou-maam term is in reference to the bad ones - (obviously) - who promise you the world, deliver you the bare minimum, and simply want to rush it so they can go onto the next customer, etc.

 

There are enough "bad" ones out there, both SP and MP, who create a bad name for the "art of seduction and pleasure" that the good ones endeavor to uphold.

 

On the road to find an SP or MP who cares about the quality of their service, one will inevitably stumble upon some bad ones along the way.

It is only those bad ones who make clients increasingly cautious to invest in further experiences.

 

I am appreciative of this board offering the ability to recommend providers - as this word of mouth is of great assistance when making the decision of who we should see.

My preference is for massage providers 'tho there are lots of fabulous SPs to enjoy. The main reason for my preference is there seems to be more variety of experience with MPs. In Ottawa, at least from my experience, the range of different techniques, skills and atmosphere is greater with MPs to the point where I am oftern surprised. With SPs that I have experienced there is a sameness to the experience that sometimes seems routine.

 

Of course there can be bad and boring experiences with MPs as well, but for me that has been more rare than with SPs.
