Just a few thoughts about shills. As we all know there are SP's, Agencies, hobbiests, and the curious on the board. I really appreciate the input from all sides and the context that it is from. Every body has a valid point and a different vantage point. What I do not like is when an agency or SP plants a Shill post. This says to me that the agency or SP has very low self esteem and assumes that their natural point of view has no value, so they pretend to be a hobbiest, like this gives them more credibility. Please if you are an SP or an agency and you are not sure what to write just sit on the side lines read the posts and get to understand the threads. It is better to lurk than to BS, you will eventually get the urge to chime in and add value. I guarantee that the SP's that are frequented the most are the ones that give there opinion and contribute to this board. I can also guarantee that the agency that gets the most business from this board is PK because although we may not agree with there position they at least tell us how it is from their prospective and that adds value.

 

Before you make a shill post, or post a fake pic (here or any wear), think about it, do you want to maximize your revenue potential from the board or just piss us off? Cause I can think of 7-8 ladies that I would rather give-spend my $1500 on this week than a shill poster, and I know I am not alone. I am as curious as the next guy to see new talent, but I also expect a certain level of professionalism, without that I can't trust you.

You may be right in the case of just one comment here and there or when the shill gets caught and MOD removes it because then the proof is gone from the records. Might be something for MOD to think of, we have a Bait and Switch section maybe we can get a Shill section???

 

But I think Dummpy is on to something. It is quite possible that these agencies stay quiet for a while and read the threads. I know personnally, once I find out about an agency posting shills or providing fake pics they are boycott for good in my book. As Dummpy said ther is too many nice SPs to spend my money on why would I bother with someone who can't be honest. I am sure there are more members on this Board who feel this way.

 

If we all come out and add our feeling to this thread maybe the message will not fall on deaf ears. Maybe they will understand they are running themselves out of business and will change their approach. After all if they have no clients, it won't take too long before the SPs will quit on them.

 

So Let's follow Dummpy's lead here and let these people know how you feel.

Trust is about the cost of transactions - if I trust you, all it takes is a handshake, if I do not and we need to do business then the same transaction needs lawyers and contracts - much more expensive for the same result. Just a thought.

Unfortunately this business attracts people who want to make money as fast as possible and at any opportunity and they often never consider tomorrow (it's all about today and never consider tomorrow). Most of these people have no formal business training or experience.

 

Unlike mainstream business where it costs thousands (sometimes hundreds of thousands and even millions) to fix a bad corporate image or try to start over... the escort agency business is completely different. It's easily exploited and with little or no consequence.

 

Some things to consider as to why this happens

 

- They easily just shut down the phone for the one agency, change names (It's not like they apply for a legit business license or anything) and away they go again. New cell phone number, new fake photos and new ads... and everyone gets conned again.

 

- only a SMALL portion of the internet users follow the discussion boards

 

- if the agency sends a bait and switch girl out the customer usually only sends the girl away 1 out of every 20 times or so. because of this bait and switch is very profitable - just not for return clients.

 

...and a big reason I think as to why it is happening more and more every day now is because of the internet. If a legit agency tries to do things right many of the guys online slam them every chance they get. Guys expect the agencies to control the ladies and enforce the ladies to perform flawlessly with every client. This is unreal but when a agency is dealing with multiple ladies all getting a few negative reviews a week it just slams the agency. A agency who posts real photos, legit info and deals with complaints should be praised but instead that is often not good enough as people demand much more (unrealistic demands and expect that the customer is always right should be the way things are done... we all know that is not realistic and those people should be grateful that the agency is posting real info and photos and running a good agency as opposed to taking the easy route and bait and switching.

 

Legit agencies with long term goals trying to build a good reputation have a uphill battle and that is mostly because of the forums these days. It may actually be easier and more profitable to just shut down the tarnished agency and open under a new name. The agencies can not please everyone and the ladies can not please everyone and often when the agency ladies do not perform well the finger points to the agency and the agency has to go on the defensive.

 

It's a catch 22 issue and the internet is so new still to this world that it is really changing the way things are done.

 

That is why a new approach was needed... and why I feel a recommendation board (with respected members) is so important in this day and age. Guy's will always post when they are not happy to warn everyone else but they will not go out of their way to post about a good visit unless they feel the lady deserves some recognition so when someone is worth taking time to recommend it adds so much more value to the post. That is my theory on this and why we run this board this way... we will see in another 10 years if I was right or wrong.... I have a feeling that most guys will get sick of sifting through 100's of negative posts to find a someone to visit with. Even the ladies who are highly recommended here could have an off day and get a negative review... could be some drunken client who she refused, someone with poor hygiene or someone who has anger issues... who knows... but when 10+ guys take the time to comment about how much they enjoy a lady it adds so much more value to her reputation.

 

I know many of you guys like the thrill of the hunt (finding the next best escort and being the first to tell everyone) and I see why you like CL for this and other places as when a girl just starts out she does not have money for the big advertising sites... but remember that when you TOFTT you will probably be bait and switched or scammed more often then not as all the bait and switch agencies will also be exploiting these sites. They will also be here and on other forums as new members on sites posting shill posts and fake photos.

I am still quite new to all this and I have found this thread very informative. I agree completely with what mod is saying, I work in technology and even thought the internet has been around for 14 years in its current incarnation the one thing that stands out is that many many people, legit or otherwise consider this the environment to make a quick buck. Lets face if for a relatively small amount of money you can make yourself look like a full corporation and be completely anonymous.

 

For many this is an invitation to cheat and rip people off, be it in this industry or any other. This board from my experience so far provides an invaluable resource to both hobbiest and SP's. It provides a safe environment where we can let each other know what is going on.

 

As far as what has been happening with the bait and switch and shills when identified I feel it is very appropriate to let members know. From the hobbiest's side we know not to use them as dummpy said there are plenty of legitimate and beautiful ladies around. For SP's thinking of working with an agency it helps them avoid what could be a very unpleasant situation.

 

Again well said to all, maybe we should have a section to cover all of these types of situations, shills, bait and switch etc...

Shill posts are not that hard to spot.... when we do catch them with the SAME IP ad the agency I will bad the agency, close the thread and leave a comment about this... would that be good?

I think that would do well mod and your point is well taken. I have based my decisions on first getting to know the long time users here and the SP's and like you said these are the ones to pay attention to. There are certainly good indicators as to when a post could be a shill or not and with the added effort on your part to identify and remove these posts should help a lot.

MOD...I think your idea is great, when I first started I was lurking and reading more of the long time posters.If a first time poster creates a review, 98 percent of the time I did not see this woman.If a long time poster had saw the same lady and agreed with review, I would see her as well. The long list of woman that are reviewed quite well here, I tend to stay with them. Everyone is going to have their own opinion on a lady, and everyone is hopefully going to make their own sound judgement on who to see and not see.

If I am right about the agency you are referring to, then I was lucky to TOFTT and get a great girl from that agency. It was Christina recommended by myself and a second reviewer who also had excellent time with her. I stopped calling that agency once fake pictures were posted by that agency (discovered by CK).

That is a good way to tell the fakes especially if you want to discover new tallent. Unfrotunately, most of those that use CL are not members here, can't read your advice and keep those Bait and Switch agency running.

I noticed that as well, different pics, swamped names and phone numbers alternate between 819 and 613 exchange on a almost daily basis. Its actually funny at what efforts they go to to pull the bait and switch. I suspect they have very few repeat clients.

I came into this a little over a year ago. I admit I started out on CL in Van, but not until I had done a little research.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why anyone would post anything other than their own pics? I mean, what are you supposed to say or do when the gentleman shows up? It is an absolute mystery to me why any man would stay after having this happen to him. I have read how this happens all of the time. I know of one gentleman who showed up and admitted to having two others as a backup, had I not been who I posted. It seems that this would be the smart thing to do.

If you are in the mood, and ready to go, why not have a backup plan? I'd hate to send anyone off with wood...that is why I am who I am. I've even offered to wear exactly what I wear in my photos, to prove myself.

It is completely unbelievable to me, to say the least.

Good luck on your adventures, and maybe have a backup plan in place, if at all possible.
