Short term hotel room rentals?

Does anyone know of a decent hotel in the Ottawa south or west end that offers short term or 1/2 day room rental rates along with the possibiity of an earlier check in time, say from 11am on?

I think the Welcome Inn near St. Laurent has a day rate 9am-5pm for about $60 but you would need to call to confirm.

I can't find a link right now, but I vaguely recall a discussion on this sort of thing in the past where one or more of the ladies mentioned that quite a few hotels do "day rates", which maybe what you're looking for. I think these are used for quite a few mainstream purposes (business meetings, interviews, etc), but hotels don't tend to advertise them, so you'd have to call and ask if they exist and, if so, what they are. It may depend on how busy the hotel is on any particular day.

Have you thought of any hotels by the airport, they might offer a day rate, being used to travellers that might want a couple hours between flights

Give The Club Ottawa a try. They rent rooms out for an hour at $40 but I'm not sure if you have to be a member; if you do the membership is $50/yr. Unfortunately they're in the east end, not south or west.

I know the Holiday Inn by the airport does half days....just don't ask me why I know this. :-)

From my experience (professional not pleasure) most hotels near airports offer 1/2 days, you just need to call and ask. I use them to catch a few zzz between flights or just to find a quiet place to catch up on work or rest as opposed to the airport bar. May have a hard time finding one that will accept $$ however.

Actually most hotels, depending on overall vacancy rates/availability, offer day rates. I have used the Marriott on Kent for that, and I know the old Crowne Plaza/Delta offered them. No questions asked, they are quite happy to have them used.

Motel Casino on St. Joseph in Hull (close to Les Galeries de Hull) offers 1 hr for $30 but that's not really close to any clubs.
