Remember when you started on cerb?

Recommended Posts

I sure wish I knew who it was, but when I started to work in Ottawa I didn't know about CERB and just used CL. Some fine gentleman emailed me and told me about cerb. I will be forever grateful! If you are reading this and you remember that it was you - please message me; I would love to express my appreciation!

It's been 5 1/2 years since I started on CERB. Seems like a lifetime ago!!! At that time there wasn't a whole lot going on here. There were not many members, no advertising...and we really didn't communicate much with each other. Most of the members that were regular contributors at that time are long since gone, as are most of the sp's I knew at that time. Things have changed a lot on CERB over the last 5 1/2 years I've been on, some for the good and some for the bad, but it certainly has been most interesting! :D

I remember I could actually read all the rules and understand them.

I had heard of this site a while back- years. Heard as in "hear say", all I really knew was that it was a review board and men would gather to review us and share experiences. That was all, it wasn't for me, I was a provider and not a client, it sounded a little impersonal to me.

It wasn't until a spa owner was showing me the site one day that I saw something different that I didn't think would fill a forum for reviews, threads on ideas and thoughts, games, information and jokes. Still, I set it aside on a bad note knowing I was browsing on a fake account.

Last year, I came to it one more time, for the jokes actually, at first. I saw in a forum something I wasn't expecting, woman. My eyes were fixated on thread after thread, this wasn't just any forum to discuss woman and prices, woman were involved in the discussion and sometimes leading them. I was in heaven (and still am). Everything I had thought the forum to be was indeed, wrong.

So yes, I remember when I joined Cerb, it was back when I assumed men dominated these boards and woman would have to create a fake account to take part and keep up on the latest. I'm not quite sure which century it was, but I'm glad I landed in this one.

I'm not yet 2 yrs old as an SP and I like to joke that I went to Ms Angela of Ottawa's Finishing School. Between her and CERB I feel comfortable here, safe and surrounded by like minded folks.

Like anywhere else, we argue, we laugh, we disagree and we are sad/happy when someone finds love. We are comfortable sharing personal goals, moments in our lives, sadness and achievements.

I have never been much in the way of a contributor to any forums I am on; preferring face to face conversation. Here I apparently have changed that. :)

I joined cerb after returning to Canada from Australia. I had been a strip club/massage parlour kind of guy till my last few months down under, when all that changed. I wanted to find a forum in Canada like the one I had been on in Australia, and joined a number of boards here. It was cerb that most appealed to me, because I found the tone on some of the other boards to be too negative, both toward the girls and toward reviewers. Like everyone else, I began very tentatively, trying to find some of the girls I had known before, but then finding my voice and my independence with the guidance of some of the more experienced members like PistolPete and Seymour.

Since then I've had a great time on here, and love writing recommendations on my more notable experiences. I like the social groups, and the picture threads, and I'm pleased that the Barb's thread I started is the most viewed thread on cerb.

I've also made lots of friends, male and female, and being chosen as Valued Member in 2010 was one of my treasured moments.

It's been a great journey since that very first thread I posted, "Looking for Daniela," in Nov. 2008. I never found her, but I found a lot of other things, and other people, and I'm grateful.

I'm new here, but I've been going to strip clubs with my friend Cato for a while. He's been showing me around, and I'm excited to start hobbying in a bigger way.

I've got good advice from cato and other people I've been meeting, and I like how this board works. People look out for each other, like finding fake pictures, and I like that. It makes hobbying a lot safer and better.

Of course when Cato started, the fake pictures were etchings.... heheheheheheh

It was Carrie Moon who told me about CERB. I didn't care for the other boards out there, so when I finally registered here to give it a try, I really liked the "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" policy.

I remember the first time I went into chat, Etasman was the first member to say hi and made me feel very welcome. He kept joking around calling Sprint Sheeba, Ms. Sheeba, and I thought for awhile Sheeba was a lady. I learned words like mullet, SP, hobbyiest. The past two and half years have just flown by.

Thanks for being here CERB.

I found CERB via Escorts Canada. I was advertising there and then began posting here a month or two later. A lot has changed in the past 3 years but I still enjoy coming to read and to post. I have joined other boards and have found most of them hostile and unpleasant places. Not at all conducive for talking and sharing about a subject and activity I enjoy very much.

I enjoy the interaction with gentlemen here very much, but what really makes it special is being with my peers. We are often so isolated and I value the SP friendly nature of this board so much.

About the only term I discovered when I came to this board (and used by other boards) is the term hobbiest, which I kinda cringe at when I read it.

It kinda, in my humble opinion, dehumanizes what is a very human and interpersonal experience. Hobbies are stamp collecting, coin collecting, etc etc etc, ...thank you Gabriella for pm'ing me with another word to use..."lifestyle"

But to echo what has been stated previously I find the underlying theme of "if you don't have anything nice to say...Please don't say anything" Not to mention that ladies and gentlemen here can participate equally sets this board above the rest. We are all here, opposite sides of the same coin, this isn't a case of us versus them

A Sunday afternoon rambling

I've been here for just over 2 yrs. I don't think alot has changed on CERB. It was the first site along with EC that I actually found when I began looking into this. And I am so glad I did. I have then found both agency and independent sites but as a 'community' keep coming back to CERB. It seems to fill a bigger need. A place to find and meet some amazing women as well as meet some like minded gents. I do remember a 'blip' of new ladies/members a few months back when another site disappeared. I must say I also noticed a change in tone at that time. However, as every community does - the bar stayed high and those who join either learn the 'culture' here or leave. And it is that culture that makes this place different. What is it? IMHO, it is a community of respect for all who are here and that puts the ladies in a valued position.

Annessa first showed me this site before I left for Tbay, I suppose almost 2-3 years ago. When I was up north and SPing, I was all by my lonesome and Cerb became my daily fix for people that understood the industry and lifestyle. (Also who put up with my online shenanigans... Hehe!)

I left Cerb during my quasi-retirement, it was in the wake of an injury but I couldn't stay away.

Hi my name is Sara and I'm addicted to Cerb. Lol!

I started here 5 years ago and on the other board 7 years ago. What I real remember was joining Lyla's list. It changed hobbying in a major way. It made encounters less "hit and miss" Thanks to Joyful Spirit who was Lyla. She changed everything in this city for the better. It was wonderful to no longer get ripped off by the fake ads in the SUN. Kudos to Lyla and those who have continued her good work.

tomorrow it will be 5 months since I joined ... as I remember mentioning in another thread, I'd been a voyeur of this and other websites for quite a while, but it wasn't until I jumped into the "lifestyle" on June 23 that I decided to join ... despite some bumps in the road ... and me taking 52 days off between my 99th and 100th posts ... I've found the site both useful and fun (well most of the time)

When I became a member of Cerb I recall being in a total state of confusion. "What am I doing?" I look back at that now and laugh at myself, because it was a great decision.

Initially I would have said that in the months that I have been a member that Cerb has not changed to any great degree. There were a couple of moments when tensions ran high over a few 'things', but cool heads prevailed and those 'things' were set aside. The positive attitudes that I discovered when I first joined are still there, every single day, and actually I find that Cerb is becoming even more an incredibly supportive community of people.

What I see already is that Cerb may have been 'created' to serve a singular purpose but the membership of Cerb have taken it over and evolved it into what it is today. That evolution continues on a daily basis. It is now whatever we choose to make it.

I see educational opportunities. I see things that make me smile and laugh every day. I see touching heartfelt posts and see people reaching out for support and having it given to them freely. I saw a 'movement' to help a young man have his dream of a hot air balloon ride realized. I see the Christmas organizers working to provide toys for children that otherwise may not have much under their tree.

I see beautiful women, but more than seeing them only as women, I see them as beautiful people. Pretty cool.

I spent the first few months hardly saying a word. I read and digested and learned. So now I do write and contribute. I know, I know. You don't need to tell me but sometimes it's sort of gushy.

What else has changed is me.

The stereotypes that I came with were blown out of the water. I have become to at least a degree (and perhaps to a great degree) far more open minded, far more tolerant of other points of view.

My confidence level has been buoyed. I still have to learn to laugh more, to take more chances, to stop apologizing so much, to stop worrying so much. Yup, SP's told me those things and they are right. I am working on it, I am. SP's do a lot more for us than what sometimes they get credit for.

I know that Cerb was not initially created for this purpose, but I have developed close and real friendships with some amazing people, both outside and within the bounds of Cerb.

So Cerb is changing but so am I and perhaps we all are, whether we recognize it or not. May it continue to be for the better.

Hi my name is Sara and I'm addicted to Cerb. Lol!

Lol. You and me both! I left the lifestyle for several months at the beginning of 2011 (had a gf). Leaving behind this lifestyle wasn't a problem......but leaving cerb? Uh uh...no way! I was still logging in at least once a week, as much as I tried not to lol. Wasn't checking out ads or anything but was still checking the general discussions area.....way too much interesting stuff being discussed here for me to stay away :p

I do remember when I started on with cerb, I belong to other boards as well. I find that each board has it's utility and I'm for anything that provides additonal tools for the toolbox.

Peace
