Looking for a cheap motel in Ottawa that charges by the hour or half day. Any advice? Thanks so much!

My two cents for what it's worth. I think any motel charging by the hour would be in a seedier area of town, and attract less savoury type of people. This could detract from getting clients.

You would be further ahead, IMHO, getting a reasonably priced motel or hotel. And it's likely hotels by the airport might have 1/2 day rates

Just a thought

HoJo's downtown used to offer a half day rate, ostensibly for busn meetings

Hey, Hun

Use hotwire.com. You can get rooms as low as $80 a night. They are much better than motels and you will get the choice to be in a good area. You will have the room for the whole day but I think that you getting a good deal anyway.

Cheap motels are just that, Cheap and will drive clients away avoid the Ottawa Inn on Montreal Rd or Value Inn on Ogilvy Belair Motel on Robertson, Richmond Plazza on Richmond road or worst of them all the flea bag motel attached to the Canada Cabaret, Sadde International Inn, LOL

Listen to Peachy's advice, Use hotwire or priceline or even expedia. I've had a huge suite with 2 bathrooms 2 bedrooms kitchen dinning room, huge living room and balcony at Albert at bay for 70 bucks a night, and even some great rooms at the Westin ( although not escort friendly from an access point) for a as low as 120

A cheap room will end up costing you more in the long run if clients choose not to visit you based on the location.

I bid for rooms using Priceline and have always had good value. I went to Toronto this week for the Jays home opener and stayed downtown for $75 a night. The only draw back, although you specify the area and quality you have to wait for the bid to clear before you know which hotel. I suppose you could wind up in an SP unfriendly location.

Actually, there are forums that can guide you and you can pretty much pinpoint the hotel that those bidding sites will send you to. I'm not sure if the forum rules would let me post links here, though.

Lots of wisdom here, I can see! I had posted the question for those occasions when a client himself wants to book a room for us for a short time, rather than me booking it for a longer period of time. I wasn't thinking to set myself up there, but for him to purchase it for just our use.

Thanks again! I appreciate all the advice!
