Cleo Catra 178382 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 I know there are threads on here about different types of guilty pleasures, but I can't recall there being one about films. So... what are those films that you just love to watch and watch again? Not necessarily your ATF films... but the ones you usually watch alone, cause you're kind of embarrassed that someone would know you like it? I was just browsing TMN OnDemand and found City of Angels. I tried to convince myself to watch something I know is better... but I kept coming back to it. So screw it, I'm watching it, and will sit here and happily cry my eyes out at the cheeseball ending. Other totally guilty pleasure films include: Clueless; Bring it On; Legally Blonde; Josie and the Pussycats; Drop Dead Gorgeous; Wild Things; and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie with Luke Perry... oh yes).

GH26 117 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Of enjoying Caddyshack, who doesn't? On the other end of the scale, The Deer Hunter,I first saw it in Bangkok when it came out in 1979.To walk out into the streets and go for a few drink's at The Mississippi Queen Bar, where some of it was shot was surreal.I will never forget that moment till the day I die.I still watch it to this day. Guest realnicehat Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Hmmm.............cheesy favourites. I'm a sucker for the Underworld as well as the Resident Evil movies. If they ever make an Alice meets Selene movie I will be in heaven. Apparently others want this too: After the Sunset is pretty weak but it has Salma Hayek in it plus Woody Harrelson. And of course, the cheesiest bestest guy movie ever.....ROADHOUSE! Any movie with the line "pain don't hurt" is a winner in my books. and the fight scenes for fun: OH! Days of Thunder! How could I forget Days of Thunder. And anything with Nicholas Cage but let's say Face Off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvb4E3oN4w0
Cleo Catra 178382 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 YAY Roadhouse! Terminator 2: Judgement Day is a guilty pleasure, AND one of my ATFs. John Connor was one of my first big celebrity crushes, and I even had all the T2 collector cards and the collector album to keep them in.
MightyPen 67414 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Oh yeah. Big Trouble in Little China. 1986. Did absolutely terribly when released (I was one of the very few, it seems, who saw it when it came out...). But it's got a cult following now. I can quote ridiculous amounts of it verbatim. And hey, it's got a pre-Sex and the City Kim Cattrall! Huh! YouTube summary sorta does movie justice: While kung fu warriors and otherworldly spirits battle over the fate of two women, Russell's swaggering idiot manages to knock himself out or underestimate the forces he's dealing with. Jack Burton, a tough-talking, wisecracking truck driver whose hum-drum life on the road takes a sudden supernatural tailspin when his best friend's fiancee is kidnapped. Speeding to the rescue, Jack finds himself deep beneath San Francisco's Chinatown, in a murky, creature-filled world ruled by Lo Pan, a 2000-year-old magician who mercilessly presides over an empire of spirits. Dodging demons and facing baffling terrors, Jack battles his way through Lo Pan's dark domain in a full-throttle, action-riddled ride to rescue the girl.

royalflush131313 3480 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 That's funny you mentioned Wild Things, Cleo. I was thinking about that movie as soon as I saw the title of the thread. That's probably my number 1 cheesy movie that I watch whenever it's on. 2 others I always watch are All the Right Moves and Youngblood.

Absolutely love Big Trouble in Little China as already listed. Rather than watching sci-fi over and over, it seems comedy does it for me. (...and porn lol ex: The Dinner Party) Great Thread Cleo! Nippongakki 3843 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Even though I have the DVD (which I never watch, go figure) I'll watch Overboard any time it's on TV! Terrible movie but it gets me every time! Maybe it's the young Goldie Hawn....or a dreamy young Kurt Russell!
Surf_Nazis_Must_Die 8958 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Hmm... As an unabashed aficionado of trashy cinema I don't have many films i'm embarrassed to admit having enjoyed. I suppose some of the more kid friendly fare I have enjoyed might get me some strange looks from friends For instance, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is always guaranteed to make me smile! Mister T 45020 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 I'm a bit of a B-movie, if not C-movie fan, so some of the movies i like to watch by myself are a little dated (hard to admit i like some of the following ;-) : Plan 9 from out of space Barbarella The revenge of She Blood from the mummy's tomb Rocky Horror Picture Show (aaaa seeing this in a theater on halloween) Airplane Top Secret! Big Trouble in Little China Bon Cop Bad Cop
Moviefan 1238 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 I have to admit that when the Twilight series started I publicly trashed the movies for the poor quality of acting the main characters exhibit. I have seen every movie in this series at least twice, and will most likely watch them again. Not sure what continues to draw me to watch them, but think it as a lot to do with the character of Alice, played by Ashley Green.

Usually after I've had a few glasses of wine and start thinking to myself, "Man, all this Orwellian shit IS coming true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
