How do I attach a photo in a thread

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to insert a photo with .jpeg extension in a thread.

I know how to do a link to a URL, but how do you insert a pic?

I must be "missing" something...Duh!

Me and computers do not go well together, I can chat, email and watch porn... What else should I know? :P

I don't think that you can upload pictures directly from your computer into a post. I think the pictures must be hosted on a website somewhere else, like Flickr or Photobucket, etc. The photo is really located on that other site, and a link to it in your Cerb post displays it here.

(Photos in your Cerb albums are different, they can be uploaded directly from your computer.)

I think I've got my story straight, but I stand to be corrected.

You mean like this....

I find that when I use Internet Explorer over Firefox, I able to simply right click on a photo, then paste into the thread.

Enjoy the sunset....

You can only link to pictures that can be access from the Internet.

You can do this in various ways, posting it in your album or Flickr or Picasa or some other online image repository.

In short you did it the correct way.

However general members only have 25 slots for pictures in their album. Verified SP have 100 slots. Doing it the way you did you are using up one of your slots. There are also file and image size limit for pictures in the album.

Prerequisite. The image/photo must be accessible from the Internet. You can either post the image into your album, to Flickr or Picasa or it was found on the Internet.

1. Copy the URL to the picture.

2. In the Thread or PM editor click the Insert Image icon. This is the 5th icon from the right just above the text area.

3. Paste the URL into the dialog box

4. Click OK.

So what if the pic is in my computer?? I can't post it? :? I use picnik, if I upload it there and then copy/paste here , would that work??

AFAIK picnik only allows you to edit the picture. You still need to upload it to a Web accessible location.

If your website is available that would be one Web accessible location. The other is to use Picasa or Flickr or Facebook or Twitter etc
