Blitz01 500 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 I would recommend Eva Laperle, she is very beautiful and a pleasure to spend time with, she is also very warm and welcoming. The only issue is that she is not an HRM local and only visits a few times a year. You could contact her here on Lyla a find out when her next visit is. In my oppinion she is fantastic but Y M M V. The link below should bring you to her profile, if not she is in my friends list. I hope this was helpful. Cheers: Blitz :) https://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=83392

Are we back to the pre-civil rights days? That is extremely disrespectful.
Blitz01 500 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 I agree that snowboarder's use of the word coloured is a bit bold and off putting...but it might not be ment as disrespectful, I have several friend of to use the PC term African descent... However they dislike that term or other terms to discribe their ethnicity. They infact prefer the term coloured. It maybe that snowbounder has friends that prefer the same term. However yes it is a bold use of a term that can be misconstrued and should not be Used outside of a social group where you know it to be their preference. CristyCurves 169032 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 The OP may not have English as his first language, which may explain a lack of familiarity with the subtleties of certain words in certain contexts... Maybe, but how would that explain the title-"need help finding colour"? Something isn't right, someone of a different language wouldn't phrase it like that, not appropriate. Midnite-Energies 110563 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 Thee are many words in the English language that can be descriptive, complimentary and/or rude/negative depending on the intent with which they are used. I don't believe their was any ill will or disrespect meant by the OP. Everyone has a personal reaction to words based on their experiences and with political correctness insinuating itself into every fiber of society, tolerance is more of an issue than anything else. What one doesn't like, someone else doesn't mind. It is very difficult to find a word sometimes that doesn't offend someone. A defensive approach usually does more harm than good. A more supportive response may work better in not only this case, but in many cases.

Being supportive and tolerant is always best, but if I may quote you- you have said "that what some say can rub people the wrong way" and it was in those times that no support or tolerance was given nor suggested, nor was there any ill will intended. Yet here you want tolerance and support? In this day and age we are all aware of how to speak properly and respectfully towards difference and other races. "need help finding colour" I'm sorry, isn't respectful, nor should it be supported.
eggsandbacon 2182 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 Well as someone who is not white. I found this statement to be offensive, i do however believe everyone makes mistakes, instead of tearing this guy up and making him feel like shit about his post, just accept his apology and move on. End of story, and i hope people can refrain from commenting on this thread again and blowing it out of proportion, the last thing we need is a a thread about racism in 2015

Samurai 7678 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 WOW, just noticed after I posted to this thread that snowboarder31 got pummelled for using the word "coloured" Although his choice of words caught my attention, and although I may not have used it, I never got the feeling that it was meant maliciously. I have to agree with Midnight & cristycurves on this one. I think its important to give people the benefit of the doubt. If its really necessary then its probably better to inform someone than chastise them. Unless we're angry in our hearts and need to seize these times as opportunity to lash out I really don't see the point of assuming the worst in someone. Being supportive and tolerant is always best, but if I may quote you- you have said "that what some say can rub people the wrong way" and it was in those times that no support or tolerance was given nor suggested, nor was there any ill will intended. boomer01 5562 Report post Posted February 28, 2015 I find it quite amusing how a select few seem to think their opinion is the only right one. Yes he may have chosen his words poorly , he's apologized and enough is enough. Endless personal attacking is not productive nor should be tolerated . Touchy subject for me as I've been on that end of it myself and it sucks. One other thing...thank you Tracie for your support for this guy but to say that Christy was supportive is certainly not what I read. I've read all posts over and over and she's made it very clear that forgiveness is not warranted here.
