  1. Sweet, good luck, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun!
  2. In terms of grades, I'm not exactly sure how classical studies work because I've never taken any courses in regards to it. With anthropology, a bulk of the percentage of the mark was based on assignments, projects, and presentations. As long as you apply yourself, it should be fairly simple to get in the 80%-85% range. It's very difficult though if you are trying to get in the 90%+ range, in my opinion though for a course like that, because the marking is a little subjective, and the prof can always find something that needed work on.
  3. I would pick anthropology. I took a few courses on it when I did my degree. It wasn't exactly related to my degree, but I'm really glad I took it because... In terms of most courses, which are pretty narrow in terms of specialization, anthropology is refreshlingly broad Learning about different cultures, social behaviours, and things such as partcipant observation are all very interesting. This will not only help your career, but it will help you in life to help you gain a wider perspective on the world. You will gain an awareness and understanding of ethnic differences, and in my opinion, that is very attractive for potential employers, and increase your qualifications for different fields of business It opens the door to numerous possible positions such as working for a research firm, government, social analyst, international agencies, and/or program officers. Whether it's corporate, non-profit, academic, or government, getting a minor in this will help you in all these streams. It has a lot more hands on learning, then classical studies. The data collecting methods are actually really fun, innovative, and interesting
  4. I'm totally the same. Starbucks is like liquid gold in my opinion. I think Timmy's is like puddle water, lol. This part might sound lame too, but something that just makes Starbucks awesome, is that the barista's know me pretty well, so every morning, they'll write a funny message on my latte or americano. It makes my day, haha. Yes, I know I'm a loser!
  5. I'm not 100%, but I'm about 92% sure, the Vineyards in the Byward Market has a cherry beer. I know they have a blueberry beer. They have like a million different beers from out of the province. They also have numerous different wines. Getting drunk is fun! I'll be off soon to do that, haha.
  6. I took a world religions course though a couple years ago in University, and found it to be so interesting learning about other religions. My favourite religions to learn about were ones that I knew very little about such as Hindu & Buddhism. It also was interesting to learn things about other religions that I thought I knew everything about, when in reality, I had the total different incorrect idea about, it helped educate me a lot. I am a Catholic, but I'm a firm believer that every religion is valid, whether you have 1 follower or 1 billion. They should all be treated equally and with the same respect. My only pet peeve about religion/politics is when people try to shove their own beliefs upon you. There are no right or wrong religions, there are just different ones in my opinion.
  7. I've never ate at the Manx, I will next time tho! I love the Manx, we go there for drinks a lot during the week. They have a lot of different beers there, my personal favourite is the apricot beer!
  8. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, I love that too! Hot Apple Cider with Caramel!!! There are so many different treats. I am like a kid in a candy store when I walk into there.
  9. Ahhhhh the pumpkin spiced latte. I love walking in the fall along the canal with a pumpkin spice latte. And during Christmas, the creme brulee latte makes my life.
  10. I had the Vanilla Creme Brulee earlier tonight at Juniper, it was soooooooooooooooo good.
  11. I love Starbucks. I get it everyday before work, and sometimes I'll get Starbucks for lunch if I don't have time to eat. My two favourite drinks from Starbucks are: - Tall Tzao Chai Latte with no foam & soy milk. - Venti Triple Expresso White Chocolate Mocha Cafe Americano And my favourite Starbucks story happened a couple months ago. My order came to $3.78 for my latte, so I gave her $4.03 (I hate pennies, and I had 3 cents, lol). so I could get a quarter back. She laughed and said to stop playing jokes, and gave me my $0.03 back. Long story, short, that Barista & I are good friends now. Starbucks is awesome. Who else loves Starbucks? Favourite drinks? Favourite stories?
  12. No. Would you ever broadcast your session with an SP/hobbyist on the chat room?
  13. No. Would you ever sing the national anthem at a Ottawa Senators game?
  14. No. I don't think I could last one day, lol. Would you ever go sky diving?
  15. Dear Future Children of the World, Don't try to be an adult when you turn thirteen or be like TV teens Don't try to dress like Chuck Bass & Blair Waldorf. Don't be a whore like the Situation, and don't drink as much as Snookie. You can worry about all that stupid stuff later on in life. Enjoy triple thick chocolate milkshakes, eating poutine with three different flavours, & hanging out with your friends. Guys go play some sports, or do whatever hobby you want to do. Just make sure it's what you want to do, don't do it just because your parents force you to do it. Have some fun. And don't be an ass, don't be a bully, they are not cool at all. Girls, do whatever makes you happy too. Be excited when you have your first kiss, just make sure those kisses don't end in "jobs", there'll be plenty of time for that in the future. Oh yah, while you are at it, go get a job. Labour laws are for 7 year olds, and getting a job will do you some good. I don't care if it's Mcdonalds, Tim Horton's, or being a landscaper. You should work when your young so you learn not to be a little selfish shit when you grow up. Read the newspaper/magazines/or anything on paper Don't let the whole "print journalism" is dying bullshit come true. If you keep staring at your computer, you probably will get wrinkles under your eyes. You can't always wear glasses inside buildings. Maybe on the Jersey Shore, but not in real life. You'll be called a d-bag if you wear sunglasses indoors, so read the newspaper. Educate yourself on current events. Go to the library. Get a library card. Shakespeare mind sound kind of dorky, but it's such actually pretty f*cked up interesting stuff. Romeo & Juliet, Othello, and Macbeth are all pretty rockin books. Don't let the internet take over your life Turn off your iphone, imac, twitter, facebook, ipad, or whatever internet device you have. Step out into the sweet ass sun. Your only excuse should be if zombies have taken over the world. Or even worse, the robots. DO NOT LET THE ROBOTS WIN!!! Don't use netflix or stream a movie, go to an actual theatre. Make-out in the theatre. Hold hands in public. Feel the rain on your skin, the sun on your face, or just enjoy the cool breeze of human interaction. Delicious things do not kill you Don't read up too much on WebMD. Because if you do, you'll find out pretty much everything can kill you or increase your chance of cancer. The sun kills you, cell phones kill you, chocolate kills you, mangos kill you, hell even LOL cats might kill you. Sure you shouldn't over indulge on everything, but please promise me you will still have fun. Life will always kill you, so you might as well have as much fun as you want. Say what you want, eat what you want, drink what you want. But for peats sake, guys & girls, make sure to wrap it up, use a condom. Watch MTV's teen mom, the first 5 seasons, that'll teach you to wrap it up. Fight, do something. Don't just sit around all day saying life sucks. Or just be mad because your iphone is only a 3G, when everybody else has an iphone 5g-triple-highspeed-radioactive-with an awesome-o-vision camera. Don't get pissed because you don't have the new nike shoes from footlocker or the pants from lululemon. Don't want too much more then you have, just be grateful. Be ambitious for things that don't have a $$$ value. Do things like vote. Know what is going on outside the area you live in, educate yourself on the current events in Afghanistan, Egypt, or other places of the word. Be mindful of others. Basically, just get off your ass, and do something. Love somebody Who gives a f*ck if the divorce rate right now is like 1000000000%? Who cares if the only people who fall in love in romance movies always seem to be Ryan Gosling & Julia Roberts. Love is something worth having. Do something risky to please your own heart's palpitations. It is totally normal to get stomach twisting butterflies when that girl/boy gives you a half ass grin. Act on it. Please don't make romance all about texting, sexting, and vampire tween movies. ******************************** Basically to all children of the future, just know that you are beautiful, you are smart. Have faith in others, have faith in yourself. Don't ever become too full of yourselves, because you can always learn from others, and learn from your own mistakes. I really hope in the future, we can live in a world where its ok for guys to be emotional, girls will be more happier with the way their bodies are, and gay/lesbian children can dream about a real wedding, not one in a courtroom. And that you cured diseases, made world peace. Hopefully our time right now won't be remembered as the "good ole days" because I know the future generation will make tomorrow a better place. Additional Comments: oh p.s. I do not have any children at all. I still think I'm a child myself, haha, with the way I act sometimes. It's just something that just kinda came to my head after seeing a few things this past week. I just kind of wish the best for our future generations, that is all. I don't even know what I'm saying now, sorry if this makes no sense, haha. It's too late, bed time for me!
  16. I like Carley Chase because.... She came up with an awesome thread game She's hotter then a flaming BBQ She's the trifecta (gorgeous, smart, and funny) Her posts are about quality not quantity Ravishing, young, and beautiful Full of energy Her name is alliteration (that is pretty f*cking cool!)
  17. Sad day for all as cancer steals another great one. RIP Jack Layton. Your country thanks you for your service and contribution.

  20. My friends and I used to go to Heart and Crown a lot, which is pretty good. But now we go to Patty Boland's a lot more. Both of those are in the market. They are pubs, but both have live music usually Thursday-Saturday, which is always fun for drunk dancing, haha. If you are looking for a bit more upscale type of place, I would suggest the Standard on Elgin. I wouldn't say it's an upscale bar, but the majority of the crowd dresses pretty well over there. It also usually has a DJ. If you are looking for a club, I rarely ever go to clubs anymore, but the one club we used to sometimes go to was Lobby on Rideau. It looks a little shady on the outside, but on the inside it's pretty nice. It's usually really packed, but that's like most clubs in Ottawa. Anyways, I hope you find a fun place to party!
  21. I just received the negative reputation point today. That's why I brought it up. But you are right, I apologize. It wasn't right.
  22. I didn't know giving your opinion got a negative reputation point, haha (post #18 ). The original poster just asked what pictures we preferred, so I answered. I guess we aren't allowed to give our opinions...
