Dating a dancer

Recommended Posts

That's the very basic advice: just don't. If you think you want to rescue her or change her or what she does, you are in for a surprise. It's very likely that she enjoys what she is doing or feels that it is the best way to make a lot of money (for whatever reasons).

If you have a fragile ego and can't deal with the fact that her job is to turn on other men (and possibly women), you won't make it. Seriously. Give it up. If you are just in it for a thrill or being able to tell your pals about it, see my first point.

This is not to say that it is impossible. With all parties aware of the situation and willing to give it the best effort that they can, mixed with a healthy dose of trust ... it can work. Usually this is with someone else in the industry: dancer, dj, bouncer, etc.

This is often, but not always, the case.

I've occasionally wondered if this occurs because it's just so much easier for everyone involved in the sense that the friends/relatives of both parties are already aware that the individual in each case is "in the industry", at least to some extent.
