Is there many members here that seek services in Hamilton?

Im not even sure how many providers are available any more

I, myself, am an independent massage provider; however, the industry is lacking people of interest (clientelle) for long time now

Yes the new legislation from a few years ago has certainly impacted peoples risk tolerance

But on the flip side; MANY people (potential clientelle) and ask/say too much on the phone hindering any potential service

I would hope providers are being extra careful on what they promise

No I agree I just think that a lot of individuals see their risk having increased due to the possibility of a criminal record for meeting a sex worker.  As a result some have left the industry as clients or have limited their booking to existing known ladies and are less likely to meet a new lady.

Guys don't need to ask pointed risky questions to find out what they need to know but I think in some ways the push to get guys to be careful has also resulted in scaring them away.

It's unfortunate that PM Trudeau has not legalized sex work and in doing so make it a much safer market place for everOne.

Lyla has suffered because it's a sex site that basicly does not allow members to actually talk about sex so it has watered down to AD's picture threads, joke threads etc. (Not looking down on those threads just saying that's what left.

I think some training is in order. 🏏 When answering inquiries make the distinction between being an escort 👄🍌🍆 and being a massage attendant 🤲☯️☮️. One simple thing to know/impart is that escort will charge more for their services while massage attendants will not charge as much (one reason being that the health risk is less). But people have to remember that each still has expenses as well as needing to make enough to cover bills/rent etc.

If they start asking for escort services acknowledge that. If they are looking for massage services acknowledge that too. Training involves teaching people the names for things so they can learn to make the distinction.

And remember: the law allows service providers to do their business. The law only is concerned about the buyers and that is only if they are looking to buy from girls/boys/etc who are being exploited .

No need to allow people to be so comfortable that locker room talk is welcome 🤐. Still need to use intelligent conversation to promote understanding. Discretion is useful and sensible but clarification can be a benefit. And it keeps you safe. 🙏

Very true, and as you said... very unfortunate. It will be interesting to see what the new year brings... After all, Trudeau’s Justice Minister did say she was going to take a hard look at C-36 in 2019 - hopefully something will come of that...

While I would like to think that was true I don't have much confidence that they will do anything especially heading into an election on Oct 19th.  The only real hope is that the liberals win and deal with it in their 1st year.

My understanding is that the plan was always to do this sort of thing in the middle of the term. Too soon and it looks like it was a huge priority and they'll get attacked for it; too late and you get the controversy dragging into the election campaign.

"Take a good hard look at" in this case probably means "forget about". Unfortunately.

At least there’s the London Ontario court challenge coming up in February.... If the court strikes down the third party advertising provision, perhaps it will create further impetus for change by way of additional challenges to the law.

I live in Burlington and must say Lyla does very little for me in this area.

That's to bad but I can just imagine how much good you do for Burlington.

I hope things are good in your part of the world.
