In this day and age there are thousands of names one can use in this business, why one would want to ride off the coat tails of another service provider is beyond me. We all work hard to make our selves unique and sometimes it is VERY frustrating when someone new decides to use "your" name and not make anything unique about it. Lets face it, when more than one lady has the exact same name with nothing to differentiate her from the others with the same name, men get confused, in fact we all get confused - example in Halifax there at one point was 3 Sierra's how as a potential client do you know you booked the right one, and as a companion how do I know I contacted the right lady for a reference (yes I have contacted the wrong one to be told, try this Sierra)

When I came back into the business I worked hard to create Emily, to make her unique and what she is today, so it keeps me separate from any other lady using the name - at times it has proven harder than it should be.

3 months into my great start in 2008 I guess a lady new to the business with an agency came in with the same name. Now another recently but independant I believe.

There is only ONE Samantha in Ottawa as far as I am concerned and you are it.

For the heck of it, I googled names that start with the letter a. Up pops todaysparent.com. WOW with a bit of reading, one could certainly find an original, meaningful name! Why not take 10 or 15 minutes of your time as a new MP/SP and find a name that will stand out for it's originality and not for it's connection to an existing persona? I would email the lady in question and say, hey look, I've been using this name for such and such amount of time, I clearly pre-date you, so pick another name. If she refused, so be it. I'm the better woman, I have the reputation that goes with the name--imitators will be found out quickly enough.
