He has to defend his fellow workers. One really good thing about CERB is the fact that we get to see a range of opinions here. I appreciate all the varying opinions... some I may not agree with but they do inform me. What is not so nice and seems to be happening more often, in my opinion, is people feeling that to effectively make their point they must discount or attack someone else. The fact that IL Re works in the industry should not be a surprise to anyone on CERB but so what if he is that does not mean his opinion is incorrect or of less value.... many of the people who work in this industry are also customers. I understand where he's coming from. He doesn't care where I'm coming from because I'm just a lowly customer. If these ladies were at a regular bar and I was looking for a girlfriend, they are fine. I'm no English major but I think most people reading your post would conclude that this wording could only have been seen as your being dismissive of his opinion and suggesting it carried little value simply because he works in the industry. Perhaps your point would have stood out better if you had simply started your post with the comment "As a customer....." then the focus would be on your opinion. The girls are making money or they would no longer work there. The FACT that 20 years ago clubs paid girls to work and now girls pay dj fee to work and that there are more girls than ever working tells me the girls are making money too. I'm sure the dancers on this board would tell you they are doing just fine. Fact...although I work in the sex trade, I have nothing to gain by defending clubs in any way. I'm simply giving my opinion as someone that loves going to the clubs and getting dances. Fact...no one is attacking you or your integrity, buddy, they are trying to get you to be less abrasive and insulting in the way you present yourself. You have in one thread insulted me personally and literally every sex worker here. You have also totally hijacked a thread to do nothing more than cause unnecessary conflict. If you can't see how you did that, you need to take a second look. Biggest fact...this thread is about whether or not a brothel could open at the fax...fact is, as many have stated, that it is not likely due to a multitude of reasons, not the least of which is city bylaws, etc. I'm hoping that the ridiculous attacks stop and we go back to the intent of this thread now. TheRiddlerMan 872 Report post Posted April 25, 2014 It would be incredibly stupid to go that route, especially for the Barefax which is already in the public eye due to the Brazeau affair. A "now they sell sex where a Senator worked" story would make a great lead for the Ottawa Sun. I don't know about you, but media attention isn't what I look for when I go to these places. I do think the clubs are turning a blind eye now to activities they would have clamped down on in the past. The smarter ones are probably waiting to see what happens with the new law being drawn up by the Conservatives. She was saying that a brothel addition wasn't needed because it already all happens at the clubs in the CR... About ten years ago, you had to be very connected with somebody to get a dancer's number. As for if it's happening right in the CR? We can't discuss that here. The concept is not too different than in the olden days when you used to have feature dancers go touring around clubs. They used to dance to promote their porn careers, or alternately they used to do porn to promote their dance touring careers. These people make their money selling booze. The bare bodies is what brings the boozers in, and keeps them there. The free lunch doesn't hurt. The idea they would open a brothel there is ridiculous. Back when this thread first appeared, the laws against sex work had just been struck down. A reporter of sorts went to the Fax and started asking girls what they about the decision, and how they would feel if the Fax either became a brothel, or opened a brothel upstairs. That's it!!
