    • Never! I'm that careful (and/or a hermit).

Never had. Don't get on Cerb at work. Most employers track websites you visit and its not worth the hassle.

Note:

Every Cerb post has a Panic Button at the lower right corner. Once configured clicking the panic button will jump you to another site. [1]

To configure:

User CP/Edit Options/Thread Display Options

[1] don't recall if its pre-configured to http://www.google.com

Nope but the thought of being "busted", in one form or another, is always on my mind. Being busted on cerb would probably be a life changing event for most of us; SPs included.

My brother walked in the room one time as I was scrolling through some posts and looked over my shoulder and said, "service provider, eh - is that what they call you girls now?" He chuckled because he's a project manager in IT and he says him and his colleagues are referred to as "service providers".

It might have been more embarassing if my profile and pic had been up on the screen. Now I keep that panic button close if I'm on and family members might be around.

They know what I do, but I never talk about what I do with them. That would be...well...creepy.

In my 15yrs of hobbying, I've developed a few safety protocols:

1. Use Mozilla Firefox as browser so browsing history isn't recorded.

2. Never leave laptop alone without closing all windows (emergency close is Alt-F4). I do this even when SO is out of the house (never can tell who will walk in and start messing with the laptop & I don't want to forget that I left an incriminating window open).

3. Never browse while SO is in the room.

This is not Firefox's default. Remember to set it in Preferences.

This should be standard operating procedure even at work. Corporate espionage is real!

And don't forget the setting to put Activate the Screen Saver after 'x' time, and select the option to require password to unlock.

And then, of course, keep your password yours!!!

lol, I forgot to minimize my cerb window once and my screen-saver came on....well a girlfriend who doesnt know what I do popped over for a surprise visit..i made some ice-tea and we chatted for a bit and then she asked if she could check her facebook.

...totally forgetting that underneath that screen-saver was my open cerb window...she quickly minimized it without saying anything and I was like "whewf!"

it was only later that she asked if I was looking at a porn site because she saw boobies on the banners

lol

The only time I came close to being discovered was when I was in the middle of typing a reply. I minimized the window and browzed the home page until the coast was clear. I always erase history and close Explorer before walking away from the laptop.

Just curious as to how you answered this one (he asks imagining it led to some jokes about porn, a wardrobe malfunction, and then some hot girl on girl action lol).8)

A co-worker caught me. Thankfully he is also a good friend. After explaining what CERB is all about, I believe, as a result, he is now a member too.

I haven't been caught otherwise.

Scott,

I get busted at least once a day by caregivers. The fact is, that I'm fairly open about my sexuality, and about the fact that I see Sps, and that I consider afew of them my friends. For that reason I don't really care who sees me on this site.
