I took today off to go to dinner and then to a sex-workers' pride event at a local club thrown by the group POWER that I'm a member of, the event was a huge success and we generated a lot of support, I was beaming with pride at the cheers generated by the hosts to the plight of realizing what it means to have safety and independance and honour brought to our proffession.....and that it should be deemed as such: a noble proffession. supporters were cheered on too....everyone was appreciated. However the night was not without its batch of naysayers and judgmental ignorants at the end of the evening....i actually lost some "friends" tonight (notice I use the term "friends" loosely) getting caught in debate as to what our world really was about and truly deserved. it leaves me a bit saddened...actually VERY heavy hearted.. but gives me hope in that this was a huge step for Ottawa. A difficult upwards battle is definitely in our future tho. I was basically outed to everyone that I happened to know outside of work tonight who happened to be there (perhaps the shirt that said "I LOVE my job" played a part in this, lol)...but I dont care anymore. This is my life, I've chosen it and those who dont care to see past their own stereotypes yet still attend a night like POWER threw tonight wishing to scoff and cast stones....well I wonder why they showed up in the first place. (??) I for one know a few blokes who showed up seeing if they could meet some "hookers" and "peelers" first hand and were surprised and turned off that there was a homosexual market in ottawa and were disgusted that "queers" were even mentioned tonight. One (no longer) "friend" came up to me at one point and asked me to point out all the "hot whores" that were present. I said (in less polite words) that I regreted ever handing him a flyer. Many people worked long and hard and planned this event thoroughly and delivered an amazing show...full of shout-outs and respectful cheers and amazing music and live performances. I personally would like to applaud POWER (prostitutes of Ottawa Gatineau, Work Educate Resist) for bringing the community together tonight. I for one am not going to let tonight's naysayers affect my pride for my work...if anything I feel sorry for some who judge before they even try to understand. I hope that everyone in support of tonight or in organization of tonight sees the contribution over the judgement and recognizes what a big step they have made for our industry in Ottawa. I for one (no matter what I may have lost tonight...that didn't matter in the first place now that I think of it) have gained more strength from coming to terms with who I am tonight.... ....and I have POWER to thank for it. all my love, xoxo Annessa

Personal hygiene for me is number one on my list and I usually go through a strict preparation schedule which usually starts days ahead of time. I take myself seriously and I treat my hobby like my business. I want to be at my best all the time. No exceptions. If I cant do it right , I don't do it at all. I usually start some of these a few days earlier and Ill explain why, 1) I take care of any excess body hair which includes shaving my balls, my butt hole, nose, ears and trimming underarms. I usually take care of this a day or two before my meeting. The reason is that If accidentally nicked my genitals, ill still have an opportunity to cancel my appointment. You don't want to be anywhere near your ladies genitals with an open wound even if its only a scratch. It just makes it safe for everyone and besides genital hair doesn't grow back in day. 2) I cut and trim my toenails and fingernails. I also make sure that I take care of this a day before again for safety reasons. You don't want to have any open finger wounds especially if you use digits. I always carry finger condoms for this purpose because I never know when I can injure myself on my way to a date. I go get a manicure and pedicure every few weeks to keep my digits and toes in pristine condition. I never want to have to worry that the lady will be choking on a hang nail if she happens to want to suck on my toes. 3) With an SO in my life, I take great precautions in what I wear on the day of my date. I prepare underwear and clothes a few days ahead of time and change completely before going to meet my lady. A few reasons for this: a) even though you may think SO s don't notice they know exactly what underwear and clothes you are wearing that day. They are most probably the ones doing your laundry b) if you meet your lady I can guarantee you that her scent or that you just had wild sex for 2 hours smell will linger on you and your SO will notice. My SO can smell another woman's scent on me as soon as I walk in the door. It took me a while to figure why she always came and kissed on the days I was bad while other days when nothing happened she couldn't care less. Never underestimate your SO s sense of smell and intuition. c) I carry the same soap that I use at home to make sure when I shower after my session I smell the same as when I left in the morning. d)don't forget to change back into the clothes you left home with. 4)I watch what I eat especially the night before. I make sure that I'm not eating anything with heavy scents, curry, greek food or onions and certainly not a bean burrito or anything beans. I think the reasons are pretty obvious. On the morning of my meeting I make sure to a eat a good breakfast which usually includes cerals and some fruit. I'm a avid coffee drinker but I abstain on the days of my meeting and substitute with Ginseng tea. I also hydrate myself lots of water. If my meeting is later in the evening I eat very light during the day but often. Salads, light soup never anything heavy. Trust me it hinders your performance if go out eat a big mac before a love making session. 5)This is a difficult one since I finding the time or privacy is difficult but an important step in my prep. Now that I'm clean on the outside, I clean my insides and that calls for an enema. It doesn't take long but for me its an as essential and important as washing my dick. I would happy to share information on how to this properly if anyone is interested. 6)Wash my dick, then wash it again. Oh did I mention washing my dick. I carry baby wipes with to make sure that after Ive washed my disk at least 3 times, that if I have to take a leak on my way to the meeting then I am able to wash again. I'm uncut, so for me its even more important to keep my dick clean. 7)I put on underarm deodorant which I carry with me all the time and I use very light deodorant spray for that clean smell. I never use any after shave or heavy perfumes. Some ladies are really allergic. 8) Shave my face as carefully and slowly as I can. Again safety here is required, I Dont want to be nicking my face and showing up with little blobs of Kleenex stuck on my chin. Here I use a face lotion to keep my face smooth. 9) Hand cream is something I always carry in my bag and I make sure that I use it right before I ring the doorbell. I happen to work in construction so rough hands are part of my life so I do everything to keep them supple. 10) The all time most important, I never brush my teeth or floss right before a date. I always carry mouthwash for right before and after my session. I love DATY and this is all about safety for me and the ladies. Not to mention that we all are connected by sharing the same ladies as well. I want all the cerb members to know that I care about my safety, the companions safety and ultimately your safety. TAIPEI (Reuters) - Taiwan began a process of legalizing prostitution Wednesday making the island the latest place in the world to decriminalize the world's oldest profession. In six months, authorities will stop punishing Taiwan sex workers after prostitutes successfully campaigned to be given the same protection as their clients, a government spokesman said. "Now the client gets off free, but the prostitute gets punished, and that's not fair," spokesman Su Jun-pin said. Taiwan's cabinet will issue regulations within six months, when new regulations take effect, covering locations in Taiwan approved for prostitution. "It's like fishing," Su said. "The activity may be legal, but in some places you can't do it." Taiwan outlawed prostitution 11 years ago, but older sections of the capital Taipei still teem with underground sex workers in bars and night clubs on the upper floors of high-rise buildings. The Collective of Sex Workers and Supporters, a Taipei-based advocacy group, estimates that 600,000 people are involved in sex-related jobs. "It's something the public has wanted for 12 years," said Collective CEO Chung Chun-tsu. "More and more people are agreeing with this consensus." Local religious groups, however, have opposed the move. Taiwan is the latest place to legalise prostitution. New Zealand allowed brothels to operate freely in 2003, when parliament narrowly voted to overturn 100-year-old sex laws. I have to agree with most of what has been said except when I am out and not available for work I still answer my phone most times as people like to hear a real person rather then voice mail and they usually accept the fact you are currently busy and most times call back when you can work. Otherwise they can keep calling every 10 minutes trying to get you or say you are hard to get a hold of. This way when I answer it gives them their first introduction to me and they almost always call back when I am available. Of course there are times when I don?t answer my phone too.

While yes it is all about first impressions, you have to appreciate the volume of calls these providers deal with, then factor in the trouble makers and tire kickers and time wasters and it would wear on your patience as well. Unlike a call centre rep who's job it is to answer calls and inquiries it's not like these providers are just sitting their waiting for calls, tmany are out and about living their lives, shopping, working out, studying, working elsewhere, taking care of their children, dropping them off at school etc, they are very busy. It's even more frustrating for those providers who go to the trouble of setting up detailed ads or websites only to have callers ask the very questions that are addressed on the website or ad. A good rule of thumb that I practice both personaly and professionaly, don't answer the phone if you are not prepared to give your full attention. If I am focused on a task or project at work I don't answer my phone until that issue has been resolved, if it's important they will leave a message or call back. If I'm home watching a favorite TV show or movie, or engaged in coversation with company, again I don't answer the call until I'm ready. The same rule could apply to providers if you are out busy and doing your thing and don't have time to give to the caller, let them leave a message and call them back when you are better prepaired to present yourself with your best foot forward!

So they won't get fooled again? Seriously though, who gives a shit...the press makes it sound like an Ebola outbreak and it's just the flu. People die from having any old flu all the time and this is no different. Well, this one made it's way around the world so I guess it is a bit different, hence the warnings....
