If you have a machine with Vista or Windows 7 the built in Windows Movie Maker is decent. It isn't as robust as some commercial software, but it's fairly straightforward and cheap :)

Given your route you could always hop off at Booth for Acqua. It's a bit more clearly marked :)

I would suggest a laser since you may pay a bit more up front, but it pays off in the long run. Did a quick check on staples and found a Brother HL2140 monochrome printer for $85. I had one of the previous generations of these when I did uni and the demo toner lasted me my 4 years (and 4500 pages). Best 120$ I ever spent.

They aren't a bad thing, but I personally wouldn't use one. If you're using it, depending where, a lap desk can work nicely. It's hard and lets the vents do their work. If you're going away for a bit keep it on a hard surface or turn it off. I would say that given how quickly they boot up from full shutdown or sleep, they should be off when not in use. If it's on 24/7, invest in a proper desktop where cooling isn't as much of an issue.

I'd suggest Barbs then. From my time there, the songs arent cut short and are of full lenght. I must admit the booths could be a bit nicer though :-o

For what you want I believe you're looking for a club called "Oasis" in St. Jerome. I hear "Le Libido" in Hawksbury (on the Quebec side) is also high milage.

If you happen to have someone with cable or a pvr a slingbox can be great. Let's you stream live TV to any computer or portable device. You can also let it control PVRs remotely. Great when out of town.
