  1. Il Re I may be naive but I really believe in some (many IMO and from my experience) cases natural remedies are better than any medicine. In this particular case Jafo mentioned not being able to have any dental care now so I suggested oil pulling as an alternative however I think you saying that it will not work is as presumptuous as if I would assure him it would but as I said I have heard that it has worked for some and it will for sure improve his dental health.
  2. Sorry to kind of hijack the thread but Jafo, have you ever heard of/tried oil pulling? If not, you should really try it. Some people even say they stopped going to the dentist since doing it.
  3. I thought I was from the I eat to live team and perhaps I used to be but a few years ago I became a foodie so I guess I now live to eat. I try to plan my meals ahead and even think which dessert would go with that because yes, I have a sweet tooth and have dessert most nights. Food Network is my favorite channel so yes I totally live for the food, sadly living alone sometimes I feel lazy and don't cook as much as I would like but when I do I even get in a better mood :)
  4. I get what you mean Daniel. Is almost as bad as reading the same post twice in different threads, especially when is a negative one.
  5. Jafo don't feel bad and I am sure most here agree you don't have to apologize, you didn't know about the ridiculous rules to be able to donate blood and you also mentioned volunteering and organ donation. Besides, any post to encourage people to help others is a good post :)
  6. As Cleo pointed out we are not allowed to donate blood, not sure what the policies to donate organs are. Even for volunteering you have to go through paper work like police check that may not be ready on time. Is sad how they make helping others so difficult. I understand safety is important but a real criminal will find his way to do harm and not apply knowing he will get screened same as like it was mentioned already one can lie to donate blood.
  7. I may be out of topic and if I am my apologies to the OP but yesterday I was walking downtown in what was a very wet day with the snow and slushy streets and noticed a man sitting on the sidewalk outside a Starbucks at a very busy intersection and most people wouldn't even bother looking down to see this man who was evidently very cold. It got me thinking if those who expressed indignation toward all those who did not stop to help Meg would stop to try to help this man. I realize are 2 very different circumstances but both are related to what Meg made the topic of discussion: Humanity and compassion. I truly hope we start getting more awareness of these people (homeless) feeling the way Meg felt every day of their lives and stop ignoring them when we walk by them.
  8. Sadly you are kind of right Meg, something similar happened to me last week, there was even blood involved and nobody even asked me if I was ok :( However, this klutz has fallen on a different occasion where many were concerned and kept asking if I was OK or needed anything so I would say there's still people who care only not always around but I wouldn't say no one cares anymore we just weren't lucky enough to fall around caring people :)
  9. Very inspirational for a dessert fan like me :) Ok I'll get serious, the affirmation below is one that I remind myself and try to follow every day, is a blessing to have health, not only physical but also mental and emotional so we have to appreciate it and cherish it always always!
