I too have found this to be a valuable thread. I would have nominated a few posts and especially Megan's but I don't yet have enough posts to do that! I appreciate the thoughtful discussion on the topic. It is too easy to blunder along without thinking things through. The simple use of a word like 'tips' without recognizing the context can lead you down a path of very flawed logic.

Hey Karine: you've received some good advice so far in this thread. It may also be worth your while to simply go through the yellow pages to find lawyers practicing in the area of the law you need advice in. It won't cost you anything to get a few preliminary questions answered that will help you make a decision.

I know now to always be prepared to opt for extras as I'm very capable of changing my mind!!

Being a bit of a newbie to this I don't know all the arrangements but one spa I visited had their MP only compensated through tips, according to the girl I saw. I was embarrassed that she had to explain this to me! I suppose having someone manage the bookings and provide the location has its benefits but basically I would prefer to visit independent MPs.
