I think this is the most important point! Not all dancers are into ladies, so it can take some time to find a dancer that not only likes women (at least enough to give an enjoyable dance) but who you are also both into. A word of advice if you don't get approached by a dancer that catches your eye: ask the wait staff for a recommendation. Most will be able to recommend or call over a dancers that is comfortable with women and that you will, hopefully, hit it off with! Alternatively, a good warm up and way to get the attention of a dancer you both like is to have your wife go up on stage to tip her.

Well, most of the clubs post their hours of operation on their websites. As for posting the dancers' schedules, not all of the clubs make the dancers go on schedule in the first place. At the clubs that do schedule dancers, many dancers don't always show up when they're schedule, or simply pop in despite not being scheduled, so it's never truly finalized. If you find a dancer you like, your best bet is to just ask her when you're most likely to find her at the club, or ask for a mode of contact so she can keep you in the loop regarding her schedule.

There are 4 places you can get dances in the Den: the open CR on the first floor with large couches and mirrored walls/ceiling, the caged rooms along the wall by the CR on the first floor (one seater in each), the booths upstairs (one seater in each), and the closed room (behind a glass door, one couch) upstairs after the two booths. None of the areas are particularly private, but upstairs is certainly better than downstairs. I can't imagine most ladies would have a problem if you requested to go upstairs.

Stage tipping isn't done a heck of a lot in this city, so you certainly don't have to tip every dancer that goes up. I think a couple of $5 bills for the dancer(s) that really pique your interest will be just fine. I think a stage tip is the best way to get the attention of a dancer you want for private dances (your wife can ask the dancer to join you after her stage set when she goes up to tip), so you could totally just tip once or even not at all if you get attention from the dancers on the floor. I think at least once is good just for the experience though! As for dances, it's $20 for a regular lap dance (one customer, one dancer), but the price for a couple varies. Some dance will only charge $20, others the full $40 ($20 per person), and some go in the middle at $30. I'd say expect to pay $40, and then if you end up with a dancer who charges less, you've got extra to play with. Just make sure to ask the dancer before going in the back how much a couples dance is so there aren't any surprises.

Does she have curly hair and fair skin? If so, her name is Anadia and she puts on a pretty acrobatic stage show. I think she usually works nights, but I'm not sure which specific ones.

I find that the NuDen is the most female/couple friendly club in the city. It's not unusual to see female patrons there, especially on a Friday/Saturday night. They have a high stage with two tall poles, so you get some nice stage shows, and the champagne room is also quite pretty (purple lighting, lots of mirrors, comfy couches big enough for a couple + dancer) if you decide to go for dances. That's not to say that the other clubs aren't female/couple friendly or that you'd have a bad time, just that the Den is particularly nicely laid out for couples and you will not at all stand out there. Most of the other clubs just have champagne rooms built for individuals, with maybe one big couch that isn't located in a particularly private area. I also find the Den to be one of the classier clubs in Ottawa, and very safe/clean with good security. If you can find a female/couple friendly dancer, I think you and your wife will have a wonderful visit! As an aside, couples can sometimes get ignored in the club, so don't be shy about asking a waitress/bartender to send over a dancer that's into the ladies, or take matters into your own hands and tip a dancer that appeals to you when she's on stage and ask her to join you later. Actually, get your wife to tip a dancer on stage anyway, because that often ends up being a fun time! How it works is that your wife lays down on the stage with a tip and the dancer will sort of dance on her and give her some naughty attention. Nothing too naughty, but it should definitely get your wife going if going to the club is her idea!

Barb's has the lovely Sasha, and I believe Lexy can be found at the Barefax now. I'm not too sure on either of their schedules though!

Dances are $20 a song, and although the rules are officially the same regarding contact, you may find that the Quebec side is a bit more liberal. You also get an extra hour to play in Quebec, with the club closing at 3am instead of 2am as in Ontario. I don't believe there is much, if any, of a difference in the alcohol served, but maybe someone else will be better able to comment on that. Enjoy your visit!

I found the Den to be prone to long breaks when there weren't many customers in the club, or at least out on the floor. It's much appreciated from the dancer perspective as slow times usually mean less girls, so it's nice to not have to go up every hour or more when the club is mostly empty! Of course, it doesn't make the club look very inviting when someone walks in and there's no dancer on the stage, so I suppose you can never please everyone.

Unfortunately this is how a handful of dancers behave. I've seen dancers glare at "their" customers from the stage because they're sitting with another dancer -- or worse, going to the back for a dance. I've seen customers appear to be scared to even look at other dancers, lest "their" dancer notice. It boggles my mind why some dancers think it's appropriate to behave in such a territorial manner -- it's not like the dancers are only dancing for that customer and there is exclusivity -- but I think you see that more during quiet times in the club, when there isn't a heck of a lot going on. Instead of totally avoiding the club, try going when it's a bit busier a few times, even if the dancer in question happens to be there -- she'll be busy herself and hopefully get accustomed to you spending time with other girls. At the very least, just be upfront (though polite) next time she approaches that you're not interested. It seems like her wrath was directed at the other dancer rather than you, so as long as you're polite, you may be alright. Though I can certainly see how such an experience would leave a sour taste in your mouth! It's a shame that some dancers ruin the joy of strip clubbing (a variety of beautiful ladies all in one place!) for fear that they lose out on some money. Sharing is caring, and sometimes it leads to duos -- easily my second favourite part of the job. ;)

Barb's does a beef hip lunch buffet on Fridays and usually something almost but not quite as nice on Thursdays (plus a free pasta dinner buffet from 4:30-6ish). The rest of the week varies, always a meat (beef stir fry, roast chicken, pork, maybe a little pie, ribs sometimes, etc.) with rice or potatoes and some sort of hot vegetables, plus a veggie salad and a pasta/bean salad. It's a pretty decent variety of foods and similar to what the Fax offers. I find that calling just before the club officially opens is the best time to get a hold of someone -- that's when all the dancers are calling out if they can't make it for their shifts, so someone generally picks up.

I've never had a girl tell me to back off anyone, but I'm sure it does happen sometimes. During the day in particular, when you're often working with the same group of dancers and see the same faces come in every so often, I find it's more that the other dancers notice you coming in to see a specific girl, and so give you space while you wait for her.

Many dancers do this, at least with a handful of clients. Some prefer to keep all contact in the club, even if it may mean less repeat business. Others work so regularly that it doesn't seem necessary since they are there every x day at y time, no need to send a text.
