  1. Trying to plan ahead to include an Ottawa Redblacks CFL game that my daughter gave me as a gift certificate at Christmas. The CFL has not even released the 2016 schedule. Come on Man!
  2. Apparently I have just decided my future for the next month. I am gyprocking and seam filling overhead on the ceiling in a spare bedroom. As well I am opening plaster cracks in my living room and hallway to fix before a new refreshing coat of paint of an as yet undetermined color.
  3. Best wishes for a Happy Birthday Loneskater.
  4. I belated but sincere Happy Birthday Waterrat. Hope it was a great day.
  5. I have a few visiting here tonight so I'm doing last minute house cleaning things and getting beds ready. I am trying to work between the power outages that have been off and on now for a day and a half. As well I'm trying to pack myself up to get off early in the morning for a road trip to NB and then Ontario for almost two weeks. I also had my lane blown out for the first time this year. Seems like an early winter is in the works.
  6. Grey Cup Day in Canada - the tradition continues. East vs West and this year I am excited to see Ottawa's new team representing me. They are going to be in tough against Edmonton however I do like their defense, and Henry Burris and experience counts for a lot. Also, This IS the CFL. :) I hope that it is a great game.
  7. I have been accused of being willing to burn ANYTHING in my usually pretty humungous bonfires. We could get that painting and have a wonderful Lyla party culminating with Harper going down in flames - again. :)
  8. I could probably contribute to this thread daily for a while because I have been so very fortunate to have met some incredible people in my sojourn on this site, but today I shall put forward two Goddesses of the Day. In no particular order, allow me to put Meg O'Ryan's name forward again. It has been a while since I saw Meg but I recall it vividly. She is a wonderful person and I consider myself fortunate to have met her. Today I also would like to put the name of Midnight-Energies into the thread. Tracie has been a wonderful companion and she has returned more to me than I ever could to her. I hope that you both are well and perhaps one day we shall meet again. It would be my pleasure.
  9. Many of us donate to charity all year long whether it be through churches, the United Fund or many of the other commendable organizations that are out there. As we approach the Christmas season thoughts go to others very often and decisions and choices are made. It shouldn't be that its only in December that people contribute that little bit extra here and there but that in reality is very much the way of it. Therefore, if you give where should it be? For me my thinking has changed over the years. For a few years as a Christmas gift I gave goats to families in third world countries through the World Vision organization. Two years ago I decided that there are people in need in Canada so I moved much of my donation to local food banks. Last year I gave a donation to Power as a Christmas gift. This year I am undecided as yet. POWER or PIVOT are choices for their work with sex workers and their involvement in fighting our one year old legislation. I gave a small donation today to a local group that is sponsoring a Syrian refugee family. There are so many great places that require funding. Wherever I decide to make donations I will check beforehand to be assured that the funds are going to the place and purpose that I intend and not primarily to administrative fees. Whether it be because of Christmas, or for any other reason, I encourage everyone to support worthwhile groups that assist those of us who are less fortunate than we may be ourselves.
  10. Such an interesting read on this thread. For me it is women who have obviously just completed a workout with sweat just dripping and being totally confident, self-assured and self-confident about their appearance. If they then put on a baseball hat with a little ponytail sticking out the back they have got me.
  11. Air tickets to Ottawa and car rental to go on from there. Yay!
  12. I have really not been well the last while, actually one thing after another for a full year, but I am starting to feel like things may have turned the corner. Yay for that! I finally made decisions on my trip to Ontario and after getting a 60% off deal with Porter I have decided to fly. The flight and a car rental are still less than I could do it if I drove. As much as I love driving, this one will be by air.
  13. I remember meeting you at a couple of the socials, so best wishes your way for a Happy Birthday. MN2
  14. Go Ottawa! I am very excited about this. They have had a great year with some wonderful moments.
  15. Since I plan to be away pretty well from early to mid-December, I have a good start on getting my indoor Christmas decorations out and where they are supposed to be. I might be the Grinch of Hallowe'en, but not of Christmas. :)
  16. Wow I can't believe that I missed this thread. There are some really interesting stories here and for me the post by johnybird on page 1 was powerful and resonated so very much with me. He and I have some similarities and also significant differences. My wife and I had been together for 40 years and unlike his wife, her death came suddenly and totally unexpectedly. It was something that I had virtually never considered as a possibility because unlike me she was the poster girl for healthy living. It should not have happened that way and it was wrong. After five years I still do not understand the why of it. I found that I missed companionship and yes, the touch of a woman. Little did I know that the experience would evolve into ever so much more - very frequently there was I believe the reality of each of us caring about the other as people. Not always, but more often than not. After several years I left this site, what at that time was called Cerb, the main reason being confusion over what was real and what was not. Gotta say I was pretty confused. A year later I came back with perhaps more of a sense of reality of what this is. Right or wrong I have tried to be more distant and I don't like that part. I am pretty well resigned that I shall be alone 99% of the time and barring the miracle of happening upon a second true love that is what shall be. Most people don't have it the first time as I did for so long. For that I am grateful and for some of the women that I have met here I am equally grateful.
  17. Have a wonderful day on your birthday Sasha. MN2
  18. Have a wonderful birthday Ms. Shay. MN2
  19. Since my travel plans were delayed I am starting to put things away and get boxes out to start Christmas decorations inside. Kind of early but it will be nice to have done when I do get home again in December.

  22. I continue to nurse the back muscles but I did do a twenty minute drive without too much of a setback. That IS progress. While sitting up so straight, I am writing a new contribution to the Fat Bastards thread which has sort of disappeared for a while.
