I see a lot of mention of "...what the lady decides to charge". This is great for established SP's who have experience and know what they offer and what it is worth.....but not all SP's have that experience. I can tell you, in talking with quite a few SP's, I have mentioned their rates and how they don't seem to match up with the regular, expected rates (on average). For instance, one girl I talked with charges wayyyy too much for her hour - based on what she charges for her 1/2 hour. Regardless your end price, it's a know thing that you get a better deal the longer you book, right? When I mentioned this to her - she was VERY interested in hearing what I had to say. She asked, "Do you think that is why I never get 1 hour calls?". Some girls just don't know/have the experience yet. You would be surprised how many girls are working out there who really have no clue how to price. Not every girl starts escorting to build a business; some escort out of necessity, and, again, you would be surprised how many girls don't take the time to go through other SP's ads/research the business they are in. One girl told me she texted a large group of other SP's (under the guise of hiring them as a male) to get a feel on what the going rates are out there - at least she put some effort in - a lot don't - they kinda just wing it. I've told girls their prices are too high; and I've told girls their prices are too low. I try to give advice sometimes and amazingly enough, I have yet to have an SP "get mad at me" or tell me to mind my own business or politely say "Thank you - but I know what I'm doing". It seems any information you can provide them with is usually welcomed. Every girl I've mentioned rates to usually replies with the same thing......"THANK YOU!!!! I really had no clue". That is usually followed up with something like "I'm all alone in this - like, who do I ask???". If you think about it - there really isn't an "Escorting For Dummies" book or an "Escort Manual" that one can just pick up and go from there. You learn as you go. There are a lot of girls who have no idea what Lyla is. There are a lot of girls who don't even know who their competition is. There are a lot of girls who are just starting out and have to figure it out alone or they just don't have the time/desire to be the best escort they can be. It's not a surprise you will sometimes see wonky pricing....but if you sometimes go about it the right way and offer advice when it seems fit, it works out best for both parties in the end. :) :)

I had planned to make a reco thread for Emma on Sunday, but someone beat me to it. I will add that while she is a tad "shy" and may not be the initiator, that doesn't mean she isn't awesome. Oh yea.....if the SP prefers the hour session, it's a deal. Just the small jump in price is what is slightly off....if you are offering a 1/2 hour for $140 or less, then $200 makes sense; but if you are in the $160-180 for a 1/2 hour range, then the hour should be higher than $200. But, like you said, if enticing gents to go for the full hour, the lower pricing makes sense. :)

I believe she is just offering two ad styles (with different numbers) in hopes of hitting two different demographics. Some guys go for the glossy pics and some guys like the selfies - why not try and hit both groups? :)

From my experiences, here is what seems to be the price breakdown... - The "going rate" is around 120/half hour......200/full hour. - Some girls will offer shorter times.....usually around $100 for 20 mins or $60/80 for 10/15. Now, a lot of SP's frown upon offering these short times because the stigma of offering anything for $60 seems "gross". I do know these "$60 specials" are actually quite popular - but it is literally more work for the SP. My guess is there isn't much talking going on during these sessions, so there could be just as much sex taking place as would happen in a 30 min (or even an hour) session, but you are having wayyy more sex for the same money. There are also girls who offer 1/2 hour for $140 or $160, yet keep the hourly rate around $200. This makes less sense to me, as a client will be more likely to go for the hour session if it's only an additional $40-60. A lot of the girls from Quebec cost a tad more - usually $160-180 for 30 minutes and around $260-280 per hour....but these ladies usually offer a true GFE. The highest price I've seen per hour was Vandyl Vixen, but that included EVERYTHING (including video) except unprotected full sex....and I mean everything. There are some local girls who have rates in the high $200/$300 range - they offer a more complete GFE from what I hear. Mind you, there are a few girls who offer "full" GFE for the regular price (Kylie Jane, etc.). Beyond the base price, I see girls offering GFE for an additional cost and even PSE for a bit more - usually around $40-60 for GFE and another $40-60 for PSE. This is why some locals are in the high $200/300 range, they offer both GFE/PSE in their price. Some offer pics/video for an additional charge. I've seen pics offered for between $20-40 and vid for as low as $40 and as high as $200 (wayyyy too high, IMO). Now.....I have always thought a "sliding price scale" may work in escorting. In other words, the SP can have a sliding price scale, based on time...and visa versa. Basically, if a client asks about rates, the SP would simply ask how much they want to spend or how much time they want. I actually made up a chart for a friend a while back that used a mathematical formula to set the prices for basically ANY time between 15 minutes and up....and the prices are set based on the "...more time you want, the better the deal" theory. This way, if a client wanted say 24 minutes or 48 minutes, etc. - the SP would have an exact price for that amount of time; or, conversely, a client said they wanted to spend $180 or $205, the SP would have an exact amount of time you can get for that price. :) :) :)

If the girl can pull off the look, sometimes that "1" instead of a "2" as the first number works for them. There is definitely a market for "the younger girl".

That's thing - take notice of who uses the "new to town" or "new" headlines (when, in reality, they are neither) - most likely the same type who uses the misleading leaving announcements. These are more of the less professional/fly-by-night types. They are not really interested in building clientele (or even pleasing the ones they get) - they need calls.....NOW. They are not really looking a few months down the road. lol It's only a matter of time this type of SP's runs out of potential, dare I say, "victims", and tries a new tactic...or have to end up leaving town to try the "leaving soon" tactic elsewhere. Ironic, eh? :p

It's just what MelBun said.....it's a tactic. A poor marketing tactic, at least; but it works on some people. Most girls announce they are leaving, and actually are leaving. The more you get to know who is who and where they are from, you will be able to tell the real "leaving soon announcements" vs those that are just trying to drum up business (and in turn, lose it). Other times a girl may actually have planned to leave town on said day, but circumstances change and they end up leaving on another date - it happens too. :)

I've given/"lent" money to friends who are providers and have always gotten it back, but a relationship was established beforehand. I have also lent money to other providers and have been promised either cash back (ain't gonna happen) or some time, which never seems to pan out. If you're nervous and/or afraid of what the experience may entail, I'd book Addictive Barbie to start with.....very slim chance of having a bad experience with her. That will help get rid of the first-time jitters and give you more confidence to research/book in the future. Using the search function here is also a helpful tool in knowing the possible good or bad things. :) ...oh, and book an hour the first time. If you book for the 1/2, it will be over before you realize you didn't have sex yet and you may leave disappointed. Allow yourself time to settle down, ask a few questions and get comfortable, especially the first time.

Ya, here is how the ad set-up works as I know it...... "Top" is basically "Gallery", but without the pics. Unless you have a paid ad, it will not show up in either of these views. "Date" is where anyone at all can put up a free ad if they sign up to BP. This is the section where you will find wayyyyy more ads; but, here is the thing.....some of those ads are, well, pretty sketchy - let's put it this way....the "Date" section of BP makes the "Gallery" section of BP seem like Lyla. lol I won't go into what kind of ads are in the "Date" section, but there are some doozies. There are also "Sponsored Ads" - these are the ones you see on the side/bottom of the page - they are like $3.50 extra when you make an ad. My friend used to use this option all the time, but it seems kinda useless to me....but then again, if you pay for an ad and then it drops to page 2, the sponsored ad will still be on the bottom of page 1 in the "Sponsors" area. I don't think a lot of people view these ads....because they are "Sponsor Ads", I think a lot of people think they are "external"....like ads for girls in other towns or porn sites, etc. It's basically just the same girls you see above in the Gallery View I believe. I think Melanie wants to focus more on Lyla. The ads/announcements/girls who are members on Lyla are viewed as different/more trustworthy/established than the "BP Girls" and the people who use Lyla to find SP's may be a different breed than those who exclusively use BP. If she did want more info on posting on BP, it's pretty simple. - You sign up for an account (which I assume is already needed to post a free ad) - Go to your account and click "buy credits". - Use these credits to buy "Upgrades" - once you upgrade, the ad will show up in Top and Gallery (or Sponsored, if you wish). To post a paid ad is like $3 Canadian I think and another $3 Canadian each time you re-post. There is an option that BP will automatically bump your ad back to the top each day and an option to just keep automatically posting your ad every hour - you pre-pay a bunch of credits for these options. Now, here is the bad part. In the past, one could simply enter their credit card info to buy credits, but BP has removed that option because Visa/Mastercard did not want anything to do with it. The payment options now are either pre-paid Vanilla Visa Cards, Gift Cards, Money Orders or *shudder* Bitcoin. Bitcoin is horrible because most people have no clue how to even buy Bitcoin and the ads you see on BP for "Buy Backpage credits!!" are companies that will sell you Bitcoins at a HUGE markup. First time I bought Bitcoins for a friend, I signed up to what is supposedly the most trusted site to buy Bitcoins. I said I wanted to buy $40 Canadian (about $30 American). A large list shows up of sellers and their "rates" (which fluctuate all the time - it's like buying stocks - lol). Some dude in Vegas sells me $40 Canadian in Bitcoins via Paypal. It gets me something like 2.8 Bitcoins. On my Paypal, I am charged $30 American, plus some fee, but when I went to Backpage to "buy credits with Bitcoin", I ended up having 17 credits worth of Bitcoins because of the rate/exchange - I dunno - it just sucked. I basically lost 10-13 credits by using Bitcoin. Had I have straight up used a credit card, I would have ended up with closer to 30 credits for my $40. So, ya, somebody is making money on this whole Bitcoin thing, but the inexperienced end user seems to get shafted if they don't buy them at the right time or something. I have recently seen girls who have signed up to BP have the Credit Card option for buying credits show up, but I'm not sure why/how, as it was removed. I have access to a BP account that is older and still has the credit card option.....that account may be valuable down the road. lol

That glitch seems to happen a lot. I've searched names and saw numerous ads. Clicked on that ad and found the time the ad was posted - went back to the list and checked for ads around that time (in Gallery view) and the ads were not there.

She must have a very advanced call minder. lol (but really, I think she means if you try and low-ball her, she will remember that number, or even make a note and won't answer the next time you try contacting her). :)
