  1. God, I just reread my post, it's hilarious! Yes, I saw a dancer whose name is Wednesday. I saw her on Thursday night. I didn't see Seven six times. Who's on first?
  2. On the topic of tipping ladies with a particularly good stage, I absolutely tipped Wednesday at NuDen last week. Her acrobatics were incredible! I was completely amazed! If you get the chance to see her, I strongly recommend it. She was working on Thursday evening when I saw her.
  3. That's an odd development. After all of the discussion about how clubs ae losing business and closing, it's kind of funny to see yet something else that will lose them customers. I'm probably one of them. My first inclination is to treat it like a dancer who overcharges by a dance...pay it, and then not return. After all, there are lots of great clubs around. Personally, I can't see this going very far though. My betting is it dies out very quickly, or was just a freelancing attempt by a couple of the ladies. On the other hand, maybe I'll buy a bunch of peso notes worth about 25 cents, and start using them, lol. In the States, the culture to tip dancers with a dollar is totally different, in a completely different atmosphere. I enjoy it there, but it won't work here. TheDivaChannel917, very best of luck with your health issues, and if your time off in the fall is for a holiday, I hope you have a wonderful one!
  4. To take the "not giving flak" side, that's what I figured right from the start. I thought it was absolutely hilarious, and I still do! I'll have to find some way to express my appreciation to Jayda for the good joke...if only there was a way...
  5. She, my friend, has YOU wrapped right around her little pinky finger! And you're loving every minute of it!!
  6. Yes, I think that gets a 10 out of 10! I couldn't outdo it in my wildest dreams, although I may still try. Great review!
  7. I will admit that the first time I went to a club and a beautiful young lady asked if she could join me, I said sure. I didn't catch on until she asked me if I wanted to go for a dance (I was too shy at that stage). After learning that part of the ropes, I've tried not to waste their time (while wasting a lot of my own time delightfully!) To whoever that long ago dancer was, my apologies!
  8. And we have confirmation! I was looking up something else on Yelp, and came across this. "Coming from the US for a business trip in Ottawa. I have to say Barefax is the best strip club I've been to. All of my previous experience has been in the US. The girls are a lot more friendly, not pushy at all. They're more beautiful as well. The only place in the US that has equivalent quality of girls is Vegas. What's more, you're free to touch. Maybe the locals are used to it, but coming from outside, I definitely had an excellent experience. The price is normal, no cover (for hotel stayers) is a def plus." Congratulations, ladies, you're the best!! (But all of us locals already knew that)
  9. Thank you again for all the great posts, and if we don't hear from you for a while, best wishes for an outstanding summer. Looking forward to reconnecting in the fall!
  10. And once again, thank you H&K for this very interesting and fun discussion! I think we've all enjoyed seeing the different opinions.
  11. I second you completely on that. She's a lovely and delightful young lady, I happily take her for dances whenever I see her, which isn't that often. She seems to consistently be in on Saturday afternoons. Great recommendation, H&K!
  12. <rant> Sorry, this is over the line into "completely stupid" (not you, r__d, the situation). KiltBoy is one of the most thoughtful, sensitive people on this site, and I'm very grateful to him for his contributions. If I were gay I'd positively have a crush on him! I've chatted with him a number of times, and frankly the clubs in Ottawa need more people like him. Period! Yes, he did raise the issue of the cameras at Barbs, and I for one am very glad he did. A number of people, myself included, have chosen to not frequent that club due to our discomfort the fact of the video recording, and the uses that were being made of the recordings. Is it a "boycott"? That's in the terminology; if I frequent a restaurant because I like their pineapple and hot pepper pizza, is it a "boycott" if I quit going if they quit making the pizza? I liked Barbs, something happened, now I like it less. I hope club management soon decides to quit video recording in the CR, but that's not my decision. Of course KiltBoy designs and sells merchandise to dancers...it's on his Lyla signature, for God's sake! His activities were never disruptive, and as far as I can see the dancers were quite grateful to him for solving a problem. And I can guarantee that he made good use of the CR, which is to the benefit of the dancers, and the club. If someone wants to complain about KiltBoy, I'm an ardent supporter of free speech, and I support their right. But I don't respect their judgement, OR their motives, and I'm happy to say that I stand completely in KiltBoy's corner (just not too close to him...I don't want him getting the wrong idea.) </rant>
  13. I haven't travelled far and wide, but of the places I've been and checked out the clubs, I must admit, I always prefer the clubs in Ottawa! We are really lucky.
  14. Wish I could be there...I'll have to owe you a birthday beer. I'll watch for reports on CNN...should be legendary! Have a good one!
  15. I'm sure I've seen Katrina at night within the last couple of weeks.
  16. London AND Paris in one afternoon! Did you get your passport stamped?
  17. Our dear friend Megan (www.meganmack.ca) just posted in her blog a great article about how much Queen Street businesses are hurting from the construction. For those of you who don't follow her blog, the original article is at http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/egan-the-price-of-lrt-the-royal-mess-that-is-queen-street From here on, I'm going to make a point of eating at Dana's Indian Cuisine and Friend's Coffee Company as often as I can. If these guys can just get a little more help, they can probably survive till the construction's over, and then with the 150 celebrations they should be fine. We're part of the Queen Street community, let's pitch in and help!
  18. Yes, sorry, those of use who visit the CRs are already transmitted, saved, backed up, and repositoried on the InterWebs. I hope the owner knows how to create a secure password...
  19. How's the food at the fax? It looks like I may be looking for a new home away from home. Do you think I could get the Glue Pot to deliver?
  20. Next question: Does anybody know with certainty which clubs do or don't have cameras in the CR? For the ones that do, does anybody know of any policies about review and retention, other than "the owner can do whatever he wants, show it to his friends, publish it on PornTube, whatever?"
  21. I've posted a long rant to follow the conversation that Kilt Boy refers to. I buried this question in it, but I'd like to make it a little more visible. To the dancers at Barb's: Do you feel safer (regarding your physical safety when dancing in the CR with customers) with the video system that's in place right now? or would you feel just as safe if it was removed? Don't post answers here, for your privacy. Just contact your favourite customers, and they can anonymously post your opinions.
  22. Man! What a can of worms!! First of all, a huge THANK YOU to Kilt Boy for raising this issue. I'm sure you were somewhat troubled about whether to open this topic, but I'm very glad you did. There is a note about video surveillance at the club, I didn't realize it extended to the CR. On the one hand, the arguments for video surveillance are somewhat valid. But I'm afraid the "EWWWW" factor outweighs them. Fortunately, I don't have any "blackmailability" about any video of me, but it is my privacy, and from what has been said there's WAY too much looseness about how these videos are being played and reused. One interesting issue in the Cloud is that high tech companies are having various files subpoenaed for various reasons. These video files would almost certainly be subject to subpoena in any civil or criminal case. <JOKE>On the other hand, maybe I should hope it gets out. How cool are you among your friends if they find out there's "PORN VIDEO" of you out there? Can we claim residuals??</JOKE> On the issue of the safety of the dancers, which is the only issue I care about, i) there's almost always more than one back there, ii) the dj is usually in the booth, in clear earshot of a yell or scream, iii) even if i) and ii) don't apply, I think if a dancer yelled or screamed, someone would hear it in the club, and iv) any bad-minded customers know all of this. I've never asked, but dancers, do you feel that if the video was removed, you'd feel less safe? So, bottom line, absolutely not acceptable, I won't be going for any dances until it's removed. Which almost certainly means I won't be at the club, unfortunately. Unlike another poster, I really like all of the staff there, and I'm going to miss them!
  23. Regarding the "naked by third song" rule mentioned by MeganDancer, I think that's on stage, not in the back. Back there, I think you're on you're own. I'm not too worried about KiltBoy!
  24. As a customer, sometimes I'm not there for dances (the food is actually very good), sometimes I'm there with absolutely no idea who I want to see, and sometimes I'm there to see a particular dancer. I always try to not waste the dancers' time, so I tell them honestly if I'm there to see someone else, so they won't chat me up and can make some money somewhere else. If they want to get pissed at me, they can go ahead. It won't work, I'm not going to suddenly change my mind and decide to take them for dances BECAUSE THEY'RE MAD AT ME! I have too many angry women in my life as it is! You're absolutely right, Megan. I like the threesome idea, except my heart probably couldn't take it!!
  25. Aw...imagine, if you'd said NO it would have torn a hole in the fabric of the Universe. THAT would have been fun!
