Penny for your thoughts...

Recommended Posts

I've had this argument with a good friend of mine. He finds them distasteful and a total turn off. I however, am completely turned on by women with nice tattoos. It adds to the “bad girl fantasy” that I so love. Each to his own, although the difference between he and I is that I’m also quite attracted to women who don’t have tattoos.

That being said, from a business perspective, I would think that having them is more likely to limit your responses than not having them. (I still love them though!)

It's becoming difficult to find people (especially SP's) without any tattoos...so if you don't like them and don't have them, market that aspect!

I think you are right. With so many young women automatically getting them, it becomes commonplace in sps. However, an sp who may think beyond the basic services and want to become more of an escort/courtesan, large tattoos or even small inappropriately placed ones will not work in your favour.

In advertising pics, either way, it is a good idea to cover tats as they are identifiable if shown, just a bit of advice. And sps who have them should fully disclose that they have tattoos, because it is like many other things--Guys who care, will be upset if they are not mentioned, whereas guys who don't care won't mind.

I don't have any but my opinion is that a man who is interested in seeing a particular lady and can't really stand them would ask her if she has any but don't consider it information one needs to to include in an ad.

I don't fully agree. If a lady has pics in her adverting that don't show the fact that she has tats (not in picture, photoshopped out), then she should make a point of mentioning that she has them in her advertising.

However I believe this only applies to large-scale tats as many ladies will have the occasional small one and to me that isn't really an issue.

For myself I don't either completely like tats or completely dislike them - it all depends on how I find they look on the lady (which of course is completely subjective). I'm a little old fashioned and fall on the conservative end of the scale.

And that's exactly why I said 'my opinion is' I was not expecting everyone to agree with me. I still think listing characteristics like tattoos, piercings, etc would be a little too much.

I just got a tattoo finished.. :)

For those that have seen me, it's the right arm, with the bird and sword. :) Uber colorful and really sore...

But I still love them... I hate getting them, but the after effect is awesome :) I"m like a well done coloring book ;)

For me, I have no tattoos. Came close one night back in my drinking days when I was in the Army, got drunk, few buddies were going to get me tattooed up...they decided to spend their money on more booze instead

thank god.

Generally I'm a no tattoo guy, but that having been said, depends on the tattoo and depends on the lady

A few are OK, and I would never turn away a lady for that reason, but I really wonder why someone ... especially a beautiful woman with beautiful skin ... would ever want to do that over and over and over again.

I love unwrapping a gift and seeing a bonus that isn't expected... one of my favourite peeps in the world has a lower back tattoo that I discovered quite by accident. To see her you would say there is no way in HELL that this girl has a tat, all prim and proper is she... but sure enough, there it was.

I love the fact that tats let you express yourself.... whether you want to do that is entirely your business.

I have only one tattoo that I did'nt draw myself... For me, a tattoo means hours of research and refining and has a very special meaning for me... I have four of them, and they all have a very special meaning, and planing of getting more, but still working on it. Not within the next six months, but within a year, I hope! I also have to choose the right artist to do it... Somebody I have a very close relation with, so he's able to feel if wether or not this jewel will fit me, and be honest enough to give me advice on where and how it should be done... How many times did I see huge tattoo, misplaced, but awfully expensive? (Espescially in Montreal... Bad business!)

Also, there's a special ink, illegal here in Ontario, but legal in Montreal, that does'nt show in regular light but flashes under blacklight! Organic, made out of mushrooms... I want to get a fine tribal all over my body, and just wear it as a fine jewel when out in a night club, but not noticeable(?) in my everyday life... Still working on it!

For now, the one that really makes me proud is a very well designed tribal from hip to hip in lower back plunging right into... THE ASS CRACK! Nine months to draw, 5 hours of torture on the chair, 600 dollars and redone every two years... But I just love it!

Thanks to Brian - Planet Ink Extreme for being so patient and comprehensive when doing it!

Additional Comments:

This is exactly what I like to read! (I don't know if I'm the one, but it<s always a pleasure to read such comments!)

It's interesting that you bring that up, because I have noticed in the past year, more questions concerning whether I have them because you're right, there are some clients out there who say they don't like them.

I don't have any. I'm too chicken to do anything to my skin.

I do have an admiration for tastefully done ones - for example, Sara's back is pretty awesome, by the way. But I can understand different strokes for different folks, so I guess I would appeal those who don't care for them if it's that important to them.

I honestly don't see how having or not having tattoos should have an effect on whether you find someone attractive or not. I am a heavily tattooed woman, and I will admit to finding tattoos hot on others - however, I've been attracted to, and dated, many people without them, because I liked the person. And I've had many people tell me that they generally dont' find tattoos attractive - however they find ME attractive, because there is something about me they like, not just my skin.

I would seriously be disappointed if I found out someone came to see me just because of my tattoos. I can obviously understand them being a factor, but to me, they're not what stand out about myself. I love the way I look and would feel the same, with or without the ink.

I do think there is a stigma of sorts attached, and one I don't actually understand or know how to explain. But to anyone who says I've tarnished my skin, or anything of the like, I could just as easily pass judgement on your hairstyle, or choice of clothing - but why would I do that? To each his own, and I think it would be sad to miss out on spending time with a great person just because they put ink into their skin, or because they didn't.

Also, just to throw this out there, even WITH all of my tattoos, I have worked in fine dining establishments, been a bank manager, and worked for the government - and DAMN I looked fine in my business suit, with no visible tattoos at all. And the men who found me sexy then were never disappointed to peel that suit away and see the colourful images beneath it.

Just my two cents.

Forgot to mention, I like tats on a guy - I like that big bad biker look (as long as the guy himself is a pussycat). I think that's so hot!

It may seem so at first, but when they are extreme or alternative, a guy who is really really not looking for that at all is going to be pissed she does not mention the nipple and clit piercings along with the full body art tattoo (including face) lol. A detailed listing would not be expected, but if you have more than a couple of small discretely located tattoos, it needs to be mentioned.

Like anything else (including full disclosure of rates and services) it becomes part of what you mention in advertising, if it is not included in a pic.

I know of a couple of sps with a lot of ink who show them in the picture. If you don't show them (for discretion purposes, many sps edit them out as identifying them) then normally it is mentioned on your advertising. Otherwise you are not giving the client a choice, and as I mention those who hate them hate them passionately and like undisclosed rates or unavailable advertised services will not respond well.

I have a regular I see a few times a year who always has a new piece being worked on. Last time I checked, only his back and upper legs are untouched. Very much a pussycat, for a guy riding a bike and part of an Ozzy type heavy metal band.

I love body art! but when you are with a lady you are staring into eyes, touching and caressing her entire body the canvas of art is a plus, and I don't mind it at all.

Personally, I think whether a girl has tattoos, is sort of irrelevant, but if they are well done, and strategically placed, they can be a turn on. I think what really makes a woman attractive is not the amount of ink on her body, it's the personality of the person wearing the ink. Just an aside, there is one thing I do find personally unattractive, multiple facial piercings are not good in my opinion. (Of course this is my opinion) I don't mind one or maybe two piercings on her face, but I've seen girls with five or six, personally if I kiss a girl, I really don't want to taste her studs. I'm sorry if this offends some of the girls, but it's always been a pet peeve.

What do guys think of women (in general) that have lots of tattoo's?

I mean, maybe a few small ones, and maybe one or two large pieces...

I've asked guy friends and gotten some not so great answers, however for more than a few it was a huge turn -on............

Just wondering the general consensus on this.......

Luxie, I have a few tattoos myself and depending on the woman, I may find tattoos to be a turn-on (Bif Naked is soooo freakin' hot!!!) An attractive woman is an attractive woman though, and if she didn't have tattoos I wouldn't find her less attractive.

Lexy902 - You look pretty darned good as-is to me.

If you're seriously considering a tattoo though, I'd strongly recommend keeping one thing in mind - it is permanent. I know, we all know it, but I think sometimes we don't grasp the full meaning of it - permanent really does mean forever.

I'm perfectly happy with my tattoos - growing up in the North End of Hamiton, raised by a steelworker father (with tattoos), being a musician, playing in rock bands... tattoos were the norm for me.

I have to admit though, that I feel a little silly sometimes when someone asks me what the great-big-dragon wrapped around a sword on my shoulder means and the only true answer I can give is that it seemed pretty cool when I was 17.

If you're seriously considering a tattoo I'd recommend finding something that you're sure you're going to be happy with for the rest of your life, because once it's there it's there.

Oddly enough, when was 17, I was sure that dragon would be cool forever! LMAO
