There are 67,104 thread on here, as of now, according to the statistics recorded on the home page. Maybe 10 of these deal with overseas adventures. I can't see this as a serious threat or a worrying trend, somehow.

I also can't see why the fact that this is a Canadian recommendation board means that it must absolutely be exclusively Canadian in content. Canadians, and other members from abroad of whom there are some on here, might be interested in experiences in foreign parts, and why not exchange these here? Even for those not travelling, it might be useful or interesting to have reliable information about foreign adventures, options, etc.

I think this place would be much diminished if we could only talk about things that happened in Canada.

I understand what the ladies are saying. And Berlin has a valid point about getting our recommendations from foreign boards. But I kinda think like this:

 

If I'm somewhere...say New York, and looking for a good restaurant...I would rather take the recommendation of a neighbor or friend than rely on some local tourist brochure to point me in the right direction. I trust my neighbor not to steer me wrong...the guy who wrote the brochure, I don't know from Adam.

 

Maybe a dedicated section for this kind of thing has merit. Not knowing the 'flavour' of the foreign board, hobbyists would have no way of knowing if the board is well moderated, nor would we have the ability to quickly distiguish if the reco is a shill or not. You weren't, though, introducing a topic of discussion of a foreign adventure. I think if you were, it would have been about the search for an escort in London, the process of that research, the laws and typical experiences one might expect in that country, and then the invitation for others to add their expertise or questions. This is clearly posted as a reco of a particular sp, as was the additional reco posted below it, and then both the additional recos with follow up appts.

 

I do not understand the confusion here. Most people agree it is a reco, and agree this is the General Discussion area, and that no one posts recos (or looks for them for that matter) in the General Discussion area. How valuable is this thread supposed to be for someone who might be interested in an adventure in London? Wouldn't it be more likely that person would look within the recommendation sections?

 

Based on the location of the thread, it may have a lot of views because people think it is a topic of discussion, perhaps a news story or documentary about an sp located in another country, and perhaps they want to know about escorting in England. Number of views isn't really the point.

As Cato has correctly pointed out, it could be of interest to other members of this board from a general interest standpoint, and there is no other portion of the public boards that is available for this sort of thing. I think it needs to be searchable to be valuable, and there aren't a lot of these threads as Cato pointed out. WIT pointed out that there once was a portion of the board for this sort of thing, and maybe the Mod will decide we dont want to set that up (maybe it is too much of a hassle), and thats fine I guess, but I suspect Cato and the other guys will just post those sort of recommendations somewhere else off cerb.

 

I guess can understand the concern about the location of the recommendation, but I dont think I'd ever live to see the day when the guys this forum are criticizing another member for posting an otherwise "legal" recommendation on cerb, or any other recommendation/review forum.
