Well if you like Butch Cassidy and The Sting, then you would love, if you have not already seen, Cool Hand Luke.

Paul Newman singing "Plastic Jesus"

Great cast of character actors and some dialogues that will live on.

Failure to Communicate

Right now I'm on a Kurosawa binge.

Hidden Fortress

Ran

Throne of Blood

Hidden Fortess is notable for being the inspiration for Star Wars, but I think the story is actually more of a parallel to the Empire Strikes back (After a defeat, a general, a princess and a couple of clowns have to sneak through enemy territory to find refuge with a close ally.)

Any old Adam Sandler movies. Sorry, Adam Sandler but your new movies suck.

Billy Aadison

Happy Gilmor

The wedding singer

Big daddy

I like the older action movies too. But there are too many to list.

I could never get into horror movies.

I've never really loved comedies (oddly enough, because I love humour!) I love a movie that will make me think, cry, and laugh because of its sincerity.

St. Trinian's (2007)

with Talulah Riley, Gemma Arterton, Lily Cole, Tamsin Edgerton, Antonia Bernath (Chloe, my fav :)), Lena Headey as a repressed school teacher (???)... (Chloe is the blonde spinner third from the right. A memorable line: She says, "Most of the girls hate Greek because it's really hard, but I LOVE it."....)

The films of John Ford -- in particular The Searchers (John Wayne) and The Grapes of Wrath (Henry Fonda). Kurosawa cited him as a major influence. As with many of the great classic directors, Ford started in silents and his respect for film as a visual medium was peerless.

I'm currently working at home and I have the TV on, watching the St. Valentines Day Massacure about the gang war between Al Capone and Bugs Moran. I wouldn't say its my favourite movie, but its interesting for a number of reasons. Bugs apparently invented the idea of drive by shooting.

Anyway, heres a laugh, some of the gangsters go into a brothel/speak easy/gambling joint and while one girl is openly flirting with the gangster, a woman tells them that it'll cost them "$2... [pause] "a piece". I found that really funny, though I know $2 was actually a lot of money back in the late 1920's.

Got to go now, the shootout from which the movie gets its title is about to start.

I'll never get tired of Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant, Raymond Massey, Peter Lorre & Priscilla Lane.
