'puter abuse

Had a momentary lapse of judgment. I seem to have a lot of them these days...

I was eating pizza for supper last night.

I was eating pizza while surfing.

I was eating pizza with one hand and mousing with the other.

As I was munch-munching away on my pizza, small bits of crust flew off yummy pizza and lodged under my keyboard keys.

Now, whenever I hit the [Ctrl] or [shift] keys, I'm reminded I shouldn't eat pizza while surfing.

I hear a distinct "Crunch" every time I hit those particular keys. I have to press harder so the keys engage.

I tried to blow out the crap, but the crunchy crap remains as an embarrassing artifact of my stupidity.

Stupid stupid stupid.

I don't feel nearly as bad as a former co-worker did when he spilt his coffee over his brand-new laptop. He literally saturated the thing & then had to go explain to the boss why he was an idiot. He was a new-hire too. I didn't really like the guy anyway, so I didn't feel too sorry for him.

 

Anyone have any inventive ways they screwed-up their device?

I had my cat run under my feet while I was carrying a drink and trip me into my desk where my laptop was sitting. My laptop died that day, my cat came close too LOL

As someone who almost always has a cup of coffee with me, or nearby, I've come close many times to destroying my computer. So far, though, the gods have spared me (or at least my keyboard)

I dropped my laptop the other day luckily nothing broke, not as lucky with I phones though have shattered 2 already, lesson learned, don't carry it while walking dogs especially without a case!

I have been lucky up until now, I have not had any mishaps with electronic devices.

 

Work provides me with a cell phone or BlackBerry and because I am low man on the totem pole it gets upgraded very rarely. So I have to admit that I have had a few "Mishaps" with cell phones in the past! I have "dropped" a few in buckets of water while answering the phone at work. The device was then replaced with an upgrade. I guess I was just lucky in my misfortune.;)

Have you ever done something dumb enough to have a person who is very competent at what they do (and who is also willing to help you for some strange reason) give you a very irritated look of resignation?

 

I got that look from my buddy who is great with computers a few years ago.

Well I've never broken my computer stupidly unless you count the viruses while searching for porn lol! Just kidding I'm fairly careful when it comes to my electronic with the exception of my cell phone I don't think I've ever kept a phone for more than 2years lets see I broken one flipping off a dock, found out they don't make good hockey pads lol forgot my phone in my pocket while playing hockey and fell on it. Another time again in my pocket got a smashed screen while using a jack hammer. This is a good one, there is no app to make them fly. Dropped one while in a swing stage several stories up.
