Gatineau vs. Ottawa

Recommended Posts

I don't know about everyone else but I'm not a big fan of visiting an SP that is located in Hull/Gatineau. I'd rather go all the way to the East end of town rather than crossing the bridge. Personally, downtown Ottawa is great, discreet, Ottawa West - Kanata is awesome (for me anyways!) and I'll go East to Orleans if I have time to go there!

(And no, Gatineau - Hull is not part of downtown Ottawa!)

Just my 2 cents!

I tried to get a hotle in the downtown area, however they where all booked for the days I needed. I found the closes hotel that I could! It is a nice one!

I am not from the area and never have been there before. I did the best I could! Sorry if it cause inconvenience. I called the hotel and they told me it is waterfront property and 1/2km from downtown Ottawa!

Personally, I have been over the river a few times, and to be quite honest, it is quite easy to get around and visiting a SP in the Gatineau/Hull area for myself is not a concern.

I like the fact as well you can go to the local corner store and pick up a bottle of wine/champagne on your way for a visit. :)

There are some good Hotels especially by the Casino, and just across the bridge.

Carley I look forward to your visit, and I have no issues with the area selected by yourself.;-)

Hey Carley, I live in Gatineau, so I crossed the 'dreaded' bridges every day when I worked in Ottawa. Don't worry about being in Gatineau.

IMHO, it's all the same. And great pouint by PP - depanneur's are great! :-)

I've never had any sort of problem venturing across the bridge to Hull-Gatineau. Don't mind it at all especially when I want to spend time with the person on the other side of the bridge.

Right on!!

I used to go to SCs across the bridge hundreds of times over many years and had no problem at all except:

If you do this make sure you don't drink it while in your car :) or you will be fined for a very large sum (even with engine off and keys out) as inside your car is considered to be a public place across the bridge (since you can be seen by public) and drinking in public carries heavy fine.

the Ottawa people who are "scared" to cross the bridges are just as bad as the Quebecers who won't go to Ottawa. It is closed minded and silly. Most of Gatineau is minutes from the market...location, location. location!!!

Gatineau or Ottawa, what matters for me is the SP: her personality and her beauty. We are lucky here in the Ottawa region to have an easy access to two provinces with their differences., "depanneur" included.

Carley, Gatineau or Ottawa, you are welcome, and btw, you look super sexy.

I don't think anyone was offended. I can tell you I have had many fine encounters in the Hull-Gatineau area over the years. I used to visit Ottawa when I lived in the Maritimes and I spent many evenings in Hull with some lovely ladies. There are a number of nice CERB ladies in Gatineau including Cindy and Peachy.

The board here is for individuals to make their opinions, noted... as long as your comments are not of the negative nature. You have formed your opinion and I do not feel offended at all.

It is your decision, and I'm fine with that. Don't ever feel that you cannot express your personal opinion here.

Sitting in your vehicle having a drink, that is just wrong.

I would pick up the wine/champagne and bring it to the ladies room. 9/10 times I'm a morning man, so it is OJ and Champagne for a toast hello and saying good morning to a fine lady. :-D

I have found the majority of ladies do well on the Quebec side.. As well there is a market of hotties on that side of the river that Cerb rarely discusses..

Its a land of new opportunity gents!! LOL

I don't mind going over to Gatineau. For those of us in the west end, it is closer than Orleans.

Yes I realized that after I got a heavy $400+ ticket lol. Also, I meant it as a joke when I posted the story and a lesson learned!!!. I never said it is a right thing to do either. It happened 10 years ago. I had Just moved to Ottawa and being young and restless. It was NOT something that I used to do often either BUT:

It was a very hot July day and on my way to the SC I saw the corner store and decided to stop by and get a few boxes of chocolate for the regular ladies I used to see at the SC. Then I saw cold cans of beer in the window shelves and decided to get one. Then I drove to the SC. The SC was closed (it was about 4:45 pm and the SC used to open at 5:00 on Saturdays then. Parked outside and turn off the engine and took out the key. Decided to have a few sips of beer as I was very hot and thirsty. I had the very first sip that I noticed flashing lights behind me and later came the ticket and the explanation as why.

It was an exception rather than a rule and I paid the price for it. Have I known that it was illegal I would have never done that. I never break the law. That is why I am an outcall only guy, in spite of all the extra cost and loss (missing out on all those lovely incall only ladies).

Gatineau is great. I haven't been there since I stopped going to SCs, but it is a great place to visit. As someone said very correctly we are lucky to be living close to Quebec. It is a great province with great people.

The only diff between Ottawa and Gatineau is some guys bus to work downtown and like to see travelling ladies during the day and walk to the hotel.

For any visits by car though Gatineau is great.

This Ottawa/Gatineau discussion always makes me laugh. For me, it is all about the SP that I want to see. It really does not matter what location: Ottawa east, Ottawa west, Ottawa south, Hull, Gatineau, or Aylmer. I have traveled to all these locations to see the lovely ladies.

It also does not hurt that I live in Ontario and have a cottage on the Quebec side that I go to most weekends. ;) To me crossing the bridge is no big deal.

I agree with most, it's not a big deal to cross over to Gatineau side. It really depends on the SP you are going to visit. I find going to Gatineau easier for me than going to East Ottawa.

Like Franc, i don't get it Gatineau is just another part of the region we live in and it's more about the lady, her looks, her service and attitude that determine weather I will visit her. Frankly I'd be more weary of some Ottawa addresses like Carlington or Vanier than any concern over a quick trip to La Bell Provence, they call it that for good reason based on some of my cherished visits!

Depending on time of day, crossing any bridge may take some patience, largely due to traffic volume. Like anything else, one has to plan around that. Sure many players may have a narrow window of opportunity for a date so being stuck in traffic is not one's idea of a good time. But traffic (lately thanks to construction season) is everywhere, east, west, downtown...

Personally, I don't have a problem crossing the bridge in either direction. With the good weather lately, there are good sights  to experience to and from a date.

In the same train of thought ... I would like to have your opinion about something guys.

I was looking for an appartment in Ottawa or the surrounding area and I found a really nice condo very close to the "Mont Bleu" exit ... But as I got back on the highway, I saw a road sign wich stated that the road will be in construction for 51 weeks ...

Do you think it will be a bad idea to go rent this condo??

Because the condo is exactly what I'm looking for. Well, I have to admit that I'm scared to go on the Hull/Gatineau side because I heard a lot about this "fear" of crossing the bridge that some guys from Ontario have

The 51 week construction is for building a new bridge so the major issue is the traffic on Casino. The highway is one lane but just for under the bridge going to Ottawa. Traffic usually isn't too bad.

That is very heavily travelled road. I would more concerned about booking appointments during afternoon rush time when cross the bridges when traffic is congested.

Another thread I started awhile back has some more on this subject:
