Strange Request

Recommended Posts

There is ad where she wants you to send her a pic of yourself. Is that normal procedure? Is it for her safety that she asks for this? Any advice would be appreciated.

I can see some ladies that may want a pic of a gentleman, for safety reasons.

After all, you get to see what we look like in our profiles and websites, having a peek at a potential new gentleman might just be fun!

But seriously, before I was introduced to cerb/lyla, I used to ask gentlemen for a pic, and never had a problem getting one. this way I knew exactly who was coming to my place, or who I was to meet in a public place.

Descriptions can be way off, a pic is much better.

I guess it's just choice

I will echo RHR's remarks and add every woman you contact will have different booking protocols and safety requirements, it's up to you to decide what you are comfortable with.

We all just want to feel secure with whom we are meeting, client and business person.

In my experience the request of a picture from the client is not generally what happens. In the 20+ years I have been in the hobby I have only shared a picture with a lady twice before meeting. In the first case it was part of the ladies verification protocol in situations where the client could not provide a reference from another lady. In that circumstance I really did not have a problem with sharing the picture on the day of the meeting and to be fair the lady had also share a few selfies with me. It must have been ok as I still see that wonderful lady.

In the second case I had been chatting with a lady in another city that I wanted to see and there was some time between when we made the booking and when we would both be in the same city. In one of our conversations the lady asked what I looked like (i had seen lots of pictures of her) so I offered to send her a picture.

So while I think clients sending a picture is the exception as opposed to the norm there certainly can be nothing wrong with it if both parties are comfortable with it.

Of course with the new legal framework we are all operating under some clients might be less comfortable with sending a picture.

Just my Opinion.

If you are asking is this a common thing, the answer would be no. It is not unusual for a newbie escort to ask for this, because she may be coming at if from a dating/hookup experience, and think it is a perfectly reasonable request in a commercial setting. it would not be, and as mentioned, you should take care that you are not sending personal info to a scammer/blackmailer/non escort.

Legit escorts have a body of evidence to show they are legit. if you don't get a legit vibe off an ad that is making this pic request, then do not send it.

I've never had to provide a face picture. I've gone through verification/screening including reference, but never asked for a photo

(they'd need a wide angle lens for me LOL)

I'm actually surprised this is requested by some ladies. A lot of guys are reluctant enough to provide screening information, a photo I could see a guy cringe and just not book a date

But if requested and you really want to see her, check the lady, her recommendations, Cowboy's Diary etc

If a lady off BP, especially someone new, just move on to the next lady

A rambling

Yeah Porto: what RG says. Especially since there are so many reputable ladies here on cerb/lyla who would not require a pic and to whom you should have no reservation sending one to.

Generally agree with what you have said RG but I think it's important to note that lots of very reputable ladies also use BP especially when touring as in some place outside The major cities there is limited CERB / LYLA members so ads on here are of limited usage. The bottom line is do some research it is often not very hard to identify the reputable ladies.

True but this is in answer to the OP's enquiry which is in the Ottawa Discussion forum. So I assume he is in Ottawa, and not outside of a major city. And Lyla has a bit of a presence in Ottawa, OK a big presence.

Point taken RG I certainly don't follow the Ottawa BP so I don't know if it is also used by Reputable ladies....but I would be surprised if it is not... my point was simply do your research.

I personally feel that asking for a picture doesn't necessarily have to be for security purposes, but it may be used as a way to ensure that the SPs won't have someone they know in their personal life knocking on their front door.

A lot of SPs have a day job, therefore know a lot of people, people that most of the time fall within the demographics that visit SPs the most (Average middle aged man).

The beauty of this industry is that every lady has the right to choose her screening process and if a photo is one her requirements, I do not see anything wrong with that. However, the same goes for potential customers, before seeing a lady you should do a screening process as well by using forums like LYLA.

And at the end of the day, if you are not comfortable doing something, DON'T do it! Stay safe!

I know this is a little of the topic. I had a Lady when I was in chat ask me to show her you know what on camera. I told her I don't think that would be a good idea to show everyone in chat my Johnson. I thought I had her handle searched her couldn't find her ??? Her cam was on but no video ?? Has this happened to anyone else ??? I was told I should inform the mod but I can't recall her name ??

Sorry if I'm off track .... Let me know if this has happened to you or what should I do...

I was too , surprised... That's why I didn't and never would, I thought it weird. I didn't do it.. I was just wondering if it happened to anyone else out there.. Don't get the wrong impression ...

I am very surprised a lady would ask to see that body part...it is also the biggest turn-off when I get pic like that as first contact, I won't even bother replying...

I do not need a pic to screen and never asked for one.

I find it is not being careful from the gentleman to send face pic sometime from your work (!) email to a lady you do not know...

A guy once sent me on our second email exchange a photo of his adopted daughter (!),I get it you're proud,I do not want to see that photo...

Guys be careful!!!

This happened to me as well. I made a mental note, which promptly disappeared through the sieve I call my brain. If it happens again, I will make sure I actually make note of the particulars.

As for the thread, no, I will NEVER send a pic of myself to a SP as part of her screening process.

But if a guy were the type to do something "unsafe" you think he would send his real picture? A photo wouldn't make me feel any safer unless it was someone I had seen in the past who was reminding me of who is is. I would think twice before sending...

There are lots of other verification options that are way more acceptable to most guys so I kinda think sending pictures is the exception not the rule.

My concern it was supposed to be a Lady asking me to show my self on camera to her. My personal belongings.. I found that odd/ I got the name did a search nothing about that person..." Lady" ..

Good point, they may be coming from dating site experience, and migrating into paid dates, and they think everything works exactly the same way as before.
