    I mainly stick to seeing the Asian providers, and have never had a problem being muscled out as you say.     I can relate to the general frustration being shared here, but I want to add a bit of a different perspective—respectfully. Over time, I’ve largely stepped back from reaching out to service providers altogether. Not out of bitterness, but more out of recognizing that things in the industry have shifted quite a bit from what they used to be. What used to feel more natural, engaging, and mutually enjoyable now often feels… transactional at best, and disconnected at worst. To be fair, I don’t think this is entirely on providers. The landscape has changed—expectations, volume, safety concerns, burnout, and frankly the overall tone of the industry all seem different than years ago. What we may be interpreting as lack of interest could just as easily be fatigue or self-preservation on the other side. Personally, I’ve chosen to limit interactions to rare occasions, usually only when I’m traveling and reconnecting with individuals I’ve met over the years and built some level of familiarity with. That seems to be the only context where the experience still feels genuine. At a certain point, you have to step back and ask whether continuing to push for something that no longer exists in the same way makes sense. It may simply be that the writing is on the wall and the dynamic has fundamentally changed. Not saying anyone is right or wrong here—just that expectations and reality may no longer be aligned like they once were.
