  1. He's probably talking about seeing MAs and escorts :) Honestly, it sounds like seeing an MA would be what you're looking for. More mileage than you get at a club (although there's still limits, and some variation), no irritating counting of songs and debating how many it was, and it works out cheaper (look at MA rates, and then work out what the equivalent length of time in CR would cost you at 3 minutes per song...)
  2. This is what happens when you back someone who's clearly an asshole because you think he's "tough" and "tells it like it is". In other news...
  3. Jody Wild often advertises as being available beyond midnight.
  4. There's actually an interesting legal fight brewing over this one. Warning: legal nerdery follows. On one side, you've got the usual lot of abolitionists and puritans who want anything to do with the sex industry shut down. On the other... Google, Facebook, Apple, Twitter, Microsoft, and most of the tech industry. The reason for this is the principle that under US Federal law, no website is held responsible for things other people post on it. This is set out in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, and it has become one of the cornerstones of the Internet as we know it. This law is the only reason sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc can continue to exist: without it, they'd be liable to be prosecuted by any state actor who didn't like something posted there, and sued by any private citizen with a similar objection. That would obviously destroy the viability of their businesses. And that same law protects Backpage: there is no requirement for them to police the ads that are posted there and ensure that the posters are who they say they are, or are of legal age, or anything else. I really hope they fight it; I suspect they'll win if they do. Unfortunately the AGs who are driving this have sufficient resources at their disposal to make someone's life a living hell even if they have no case at all, and there's a distinct possibility of a settlement just to make it all go away. Such is the power of coercion when wielded by the government... which is ironic, given what the case is claimed to be about.
  5. If you book an hour and pay for an hour, then you should get an hour. End of story. If you're late, it comes out of your time; if they're running late, it comes out of theirs, or they make it up to you some other way. I've had a similar experiences in the past at a spa, which I think was because the provider in question was booking clients back-to-back with no time in between to turn the room around, if her twitter feed was anything to go by, so that had to come out of cutting sessions short. I let the spa know and they said they'd have a word with her... but I have no idea whether anything changed as I never went back to that provider :) That's not the only time I've been out the door much faster than I should have been, and it's something I have pretty much no tolerance for. If I pay for an hour and you have me out the door in 45 minutes then good for you, you did well on that session... but I'll never see you again.
  6. Well, shit. I severely doubt that BP's CEO was personally involved an anything apart from running a site where escorts advertise. His great sin was to fail to kowtow to the powers that be when they came calling, unlike the folks running CL. This is really just judicial terrorism.
  7. Thanks for doing this. And you're dead right: knowing you're not alone can make all the difference. For those who are interested, here's a blogpost from another sufferer of depression on the same theme: https://popehat.com/2016/08/09/why-openness-about-mental-illness-is-worth-the-effort-and-discomfort/. Also has some links to other good stuff.

  9. It's a response to something objectively wrong. Fortunately, Regent put in the effort to do the hand-holding and explanation that I didn't have the energy for at the time, so now I don't have to :)
  10. You should really do a little more basic research.
  11. Are you looking for MAs or SPs? If you're looking for MAs, you should probably check out Brass Club. It sounds like you're downtown, in which case they'd probably be the most convenient option for you. You can book online at short notice. Yes, you have to join, but that's not a big deal. There's also Club Harmony, which seems pretty new and quite similar, and also downtown - although I have no personal experience there. If you have a car, then also check out CMJ, ALO, Vibe and Paradise/Angels (they all advertize here). Even if they ask you to book in advance, that can be as simple as calling to check availability a few minutes before you get there. If you're looking for escorts... well, that's a bit harder; I can only recommend looking at the independent ladies that are around. And as a general thing: why not get a burner cellphone? Then you can call people, which is much better for last-minute stuff as you get a definite yes/no very quickly, or you can just move on if you get no answer. I find that a lot better than not knowing how long to wait before you decide that an email or PM isn't going anywhere.
  12. In an ideal world, I don't think sex tourism would be any worse than any other tourism. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world. While I can be reasonably sure that the providers I see locally are doing what they want to do and haven't been coerced into it, it'd be far harder to be sure of that when you don't speak the language or know the local environment. I also fear that many people indulging in sex tourism (assuming by that you mean people who are traveling primarily for sex, rather than just having some while they're traveling for other reasons) are doing so in order to obtain things that they can't easily get at home because they're totally illegal (as opposed to slightly illegal).
  13. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I don't have a problem with some of what people are talking about here. There's value in learning that things you thought were innocuous cause offence to others. But like many good things, it becomes counter-productive when you take it too far. The plague of safe spaces and trigger warnings threatens to leave us with a generation who are unable to cope with the world. Letting people know that something is offensive to you does not, in any way, give you a right to meander through life without ever seeing or hearing anything that may hurt your feelings.
  14. Is it really that hard to create an email address specifically for this? And make sure you're not logged into FB, etc at the time? Yes, you have to log in to see most of the pics... but I can think of a couple of other spas that do the same. And the new ALO site is much better than the old one.
  15. Given that a lot of trafficking is for purposes other than sex work... no, they won't.
  16. If you've seen independent MAs, expect roughly the same. Door fees just explicitly break out the spa's share; expect to tip your MA too, and expect the door fee + tip to be about the same as when you pay all in one. Also, not all spas have separate door fees; it makes no difference to the total cost. I've never been anywhere without having a private room, and the better spas now have showers in the rooms so you never have to leave it at all.
  17. Reco for one of their MAs at https://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=240075 Never been there myself, though...
  18. If anyone hasn't already... read this thread. If you have, read it again.
  19. Indeed. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear... as our political overlords are always telling us whenever they want to intrude further into our lives. That works both ways :)
  20. I don't think there's an 'us vs them' culture in this country at this point... but take that with a huge grain of salt, given that it's coming from someone who isn't part of a visible minority and has almost no contact with the police himself. And if there is one, it doesn't seem to be as widespread and deeply ingrained as what we see south of the border. I think there's a greater willingness to hold cops to account where necessary here (compared to the US). I also think that there's less fear among cops here; much of what happens in the US seems to have its root in cops being forced to assume that the person they're interacting with is armed and wants them dead. Up here, people seem to be armed far less frequently, and so that fear is less prevalent and therefore less likely to poison everything. And on vest cameras - yes, I think they're a great idea. I won't go so far as to say the camera never lies... but it seems to lie a hell of a lot less than we humans. The only potential problems is if they 'malfunction' or footage from them is 'lost' when it's convenient for that to happen...
  21. Trump is, when you get down to it, a con-man. I don't think he's the fascist that many people make him out to be any more than he's the titan of business and champion of the downtrodden that he claims to be himself.
  22. The only real conclusion I can draw from this thread is that the OP and Donald Trump ought to be locked in a room together, permanently. They deserve each other.
  23. Rates are on their website, but only once you've logged in, which requires joining, I think. They're pretty much the same as other spas, though
  24. I look at TERB on occasion, as the reviews there are sometimes a useful addition to what we have here (or more often, what we don't have here). TERB also allows discussion of services, which is useful if you want something specific and hasn't been allowed here since the laws changed. But having said that, I've never felt that it was an environment I really wanted to get involved in.
  25. CMJ rates are similar to other spas, but you just pay in one go - there's no separate door fee and tip. Adele has a reco thread here.
