I love gifts. Tools (yes tools), clothing, spa gift certificates, Jewlery, things I wouldn't buy for myself. I always include the receipt with the gift, so if they don't want it, they can always return it and get something they want. Most stores will give a non-price receipt if you ask. I love getting gift certificates to stores I love - that way I can hit the boxing day sales too. I'm a believer of asking what they want. This way, they can at least let you know. Anyone who gives grief over a gift is in my opinion not cool. I once got a hot wax machine that you put your hands into. The idea of putting my hands into hot wax - um, no. However, the giver was really proud she had found this for me, so even though the gift was not something I would use, her happiness was what made the gift something I appreciated.

Sometimes providers don't have daily access to the internet. Before I got internet, I would have to travel into town to post an email - so it would sometimes be days before I replied. However, I posted this on my ads so clients would know the easiest way to reach me was by phone and not by email if they wanted to see me right away. Even now, with internet I am not always online and when someone sends me an email saying "can I see you in 15 minutes", and I've been busy away from my computer, I might not get it till 2 hours later. My understanding is there is a difference between copying something - or using that copy without my permission to "post, forward etc." I wouldn't have a problem with someone copying my picture for their own personal enjoyment as I have already posted my picture online. However, if you copy my picture, and then use it to pretend it is your likeness, that is never cool. Or, if you take a picture of me without my permission and then post it somewhere. I'm sorry to hear that there are those using your pictures trying to pretend it is them. That is never ok and I truly wish there was more we could do the stop this. For both providers and hobbyists this needs to stop.

Loneskater, I agree with what you are saying. I think however, it is important to each donate to a charity you feel comfortable supporting. Instead of waiting for someone to say "hey, drop off your toys at xxx place", do it and donate where you live. This way, the children get their donations, and in the end, it has nothing to do with "where" it comes from.
