  1. Uh, Leolist is actively getting worse though, many clients and definitely all advertisers on LL can vouch for that. ๐Ÿ˜•
  2. I never have a problem with the "restrictions" question; but would like to mention though SP is different, myself and many others don't like being asked "what's on the menu?/what all services do you offer"... Being asked that implies there's a one-size-fits all menu; and while restrictions apply to everyone, there's some things that I might offer to one client but not another based on hygeine, ability to listen, feeling safe, chemistry etc. Some things can't be determined til actually meeting in person and especially dislike the alphabet soup approach ("hey u bbbjcims yes or no?") If someone would be put off by a SP not blindly saying yes to ppl without a second thought, that would honestly put me off that client -_- That said, I agree one should beware suspiciously low rates, and everything-under-the-sun inclusive rates lol.
  3. ...this thread is 12 years old ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…
  4. Just want to mention something FWIW, I'm face hidden in my ad below the nose- it's possible to verify and maintain privacy. Some won't even go above neck and if they have any identifying marks like tattoos/birthmarks they can blur those out. I very much agree providers shouldn't be required to be face out, and they should be able to conceal identifying marks but speaking as a provider I think it's kind of bollocks to use someone else pics. Even if it's representative of their body type, it's still deceiving people. Taking and editing photos can be DIY'd cheap and easily on cell phone with a $10 BT shutter and $5 cell phone tripod too so I don't feel the "pics are expensive" argument holds water. My 2c
  5. You do you, I'll do me. Cheers:) Edit: Swear I'm leaving it after this ๐Ÿ˜… but FWIW, posting about it *has* tuned some people onto their shit when they were previously unaware. Enough people? Not yet, but it's had some benefit. I'll reserve when I do, but it isn't entirely pointless to post publically about their BS. Anyhow, thanks for your perspective, my best to you.
  6. With due respect, a lot of us do not want to use leolist at all, because of these issues but the problem is they're the big fish. Can I ask why you're so defensive of them when you yourself see the issues? And it's not true that they can't respond to these issues, I've had ads Ive placed calling their shit out removed in a matter of ten minutes ๐Ÿ˜‚ it's not that they can't moderate, they don't want to because they know they're almost obligatory to use if an escort is low or midrange. Some of us don't have the clout for the luxury of being able to post exclusively on tryst or vip etc. Yes craigslist and BP had issues but THEY charged max of $5-10 an ad, not an entry point being $15 for an ad, going up to $20 or $25. And yeah inflation but even so, literally nobody looks past page one, people would for Backpage when I posted there. Edit: Oh! Here's some scumminess I didn't know about as a longtime user of Leolist, that explains a lot of the fake ads. This is according to a new to the biz SW I've spoken with on Twitter. I've had a verified LL account for 4 yrs, she only recently verified her acct. Apparently if you're registering on Leolist with a new acct, if you don't verify you get a free bump a day. FREE. If you verify you lose it. What does this mean? Scammers are using this bullshit to their advantage, they're getting away with all these ads because it's costing them nothing to do this, and Leolist has given them the incentive and opportunity with this policy to do this. It is bullshit and sorry I may be repetitive but I'm not going to shut up about it... *That said* I'll pick my battles and not chime in ~every~ time LL is mentioned...though I could ๐Ÿ˜‰
  7. As you're new to this (which is probably a good thing to mention to her when you contact), you could ask her preference? I don't think one is much better or worse than the other... $ has to be counted, so ~my~ slight preference to be handed directly. Some escorts prefer to receive donation in an envelope, and then for you to excuse yourself to washroom to wash hands so the donation can be counted without it being awkward. There may be a policy on her website...when in doubt, that's the way to go. There's not "one simple trick" to this, it's a process/doing your homework. Good signs are being verified on multiple sites, having rates that are not suspiciously low, if she screens (does not just meet anyone, or rush you to come see her), having reviews (Lyla is a good board ...other boards are worth checking out but take with a grain of salt. Some people abuse boards to "get back" at SP's if they have beef and such fraudulent reviews are left up), having active social media... Here is a reddit thread post that is more US focused but gives generally good info. This is largely avoidable by doing your homework in the ways described above. Not that it could *never* happen, in the way that anything is in theory possible, but if you research the provider properly and find a reliable, professional independent, then it's basically a non-zero chance of that happening. Word gets out quickly when providers do someone dirty like that, and independents put a lot of time and work into establishing their presence so they're quite unlikely to throw that away for one appt's donation right? You have to be more wary of that with ads that change name and # all the time, ads with low rates, providers who don't screen (if they're planning to rob you they won't care about screening), ads with stolen pics... If you are willing to do some research you can 100% avoid this. ๐Ÿ™‚ Edit: Greenteal's post is good too, also just saw today Tryst added a Client Guide.
  8. I know a handful of SW on social media and just a few in person, but they are saying they're fed up too and most are awaiting on account approval on Tryst. LL has gotten away being shite way too long. I have to spend $15-20 on a single ad, just one day, for any chance of it being seen for all the scams there are. A week of LL costs more than a month of the other sites, and most have free tiers too. It's nuts. People are getting more vocal about it, and by word of mouth, registering for more sites... so feels like it's beginning to shift. Here's hoping ๐Ÿคž
  9. They're everywhere, know I'm a broken record on this subject but Loserlist is trash. I've reported ads to them with the pics in the ad, and the source it was stolen from, and never hear a peep nor are the offending ads ever removed. They just flat out don't give a shit, pardon my french. And still raising prices.
  10. Hi to clarify I posted a DM I got telling me "calm down babe" it was just bizarre...the sender of the DM mistook me for the person who posted the thread and chose the name of it. I don't think they really understand how a message board works. I was just bothered being told to "calm down" over something I never said in the first place lol. But after consideration I removed the screenshot because though it was weird and inappropriate it was ultimately harmless.
  11. Some SPs will mention in their correspondence that a shower is available (most considerate clients if coming from a physically demanding/sweaty job will get out ahead of that and ask) and offer one with fresh towels and soap ready. There's many too who will just insist every client shower on arrival, regardless of what time they last showered, to circumvent that whole issue. It can be challenging to assert oneself sometimes, but that gets easier with practice. And some might choose to stop the session if it cannot be tuned out, and insist someone shower. Or may leave it for the appointment, but if the client reaches out to book again, say something then. It's an awkward conversation and one I personally have very rarely needed to have. Sometimes the client is genuinely unaware, like they may have a diminished sense of smell or similar, and they are then appreciative of the information. Things like age, race and build are perfectly reasonable to ask. It doesn't mean discrimination- if you host out of a private apartment or hotel, it's rare to happen but the wrong person could knock on your door when you're expecting someone. It's a way to make sure the right person is at your door. I agree with you that if they're not willing to share such basic information, something's fishy.
  12. Haha, I like the term para-sites, cuz that's definitely exactly what they're behaving like ๐Ÿ˜‚ They're more commonly known as "scraper" sites- they have bots that are able to comb ads for specific information (commonly phone #s), and they repost your ad as though you posted it there in the first place. My hunch is they do this to make it appear their website has many more users than it does, and then with that they sell advertising space. (To porn sites, AdultFriendFinder, etc) It's possible to request they be taken down- scraper sites are all shitty, but the slightly-less-shitty ones will have a Removal Request form and it's down in a day or two, or you can flag the ad itself. This may or may not be helpful, but one way I get around my Lฬถoฬถsฬถeฬถrฬถlฬถiฬถsฬถtฬถ Leolist ad being copied is Ieave the phone # section empty, and in my ad text I'll partially enter my ph# as words (ie 22six 2one0 etc...) and then it can't pick it up.
  13. I've been kind of curious actually... and don't mean this in a negative way (esp with the world having gone to hell in a hand basket lately ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ) just an observation - the Lyla Twitter acct seems to be dormant, starting back in March.... Does anyone know if it's just on pause temporarily etc?
  14. Pardon me if I'm misreading this it's been a long day and I'm tuckered out; if I am reading this correctly, your comment is saying you expect an escort to take time out of their day, to go meet you for a coffee for you to "verify" them...totally uncompensated?๐Ÿคจ
  15. Same here! I can't believe bumps on Leolist used to legit be 25c... If I had a time machine, there are some things I would do differently... But while I was back in the past I'd make sure to stock up on bumps too ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
  16. Welcome to Lyla โ˜บ๏ธ So on your profile to get your status changed from "General Member" to "Verified Independent", you have to email the mods- it was some time ago I got verified here so my recollection is a little foggy, but I think how I did was I emailed them the link to my Directory from my "work" email. And when they confirm it they will change it for you ๐Ÿ’•
  17. Escorts and providers are interchangeable terms unless you mean something that I'm not picking up on. (Providers covers FSBM and Dom/Fetish providers too I guess) When Backpage went under, Leolist was only 25c to post, and there was a free bump for each ad per day. Now obviously had to change, with increased traffic and that's fair of course! But before covid they were rapidly increasing their prices and adding all these little nickel and dime upgrades, to where the cost of a basic ad already matched what Backpage charged- but now if you didn't pay for the upgrades your ad got noticeably fewer clicks. They hit pause on *most* of the price increases during the worst part of the pandemic, but as soon as things opened back up last year they jacked them up again and completely abandoned any pretense of moderating ads based on their own rules, which is why in a addition to flood of stolen pics there's so many butthole/vagina/cumshot thumbnails too, real classy place ๐Ÿ˜’. They just really DGAF. The MINIMUM they could do, even if their prices stayed high, would be to require every poster to verify the way Tryst, Vipfavours and a few others do. It wouldn't completely eliminate scams but it would drastically cut down on them. (Seriously if you take the time to reverse image search the thumbnail of nearly any unverified ad, 9/10 times it will come back as stolen from Twitter, OF or porn) But they won't because while they're still the big fish, they still make bank and don't have to do more than the bare minimum work. ๐Ÿ˜ช
  18. So I noticed in their recent blog Leolist tried to make the narrative (paraphrasing) "we are only accepting Litecoin now because we believe it's a truly free currency blah blah"...I call BS on that! I suspect Visa and Mastercard revoked their right to process payments through them...why would they willingly limit their methods to take payments especially when they slapped on a ~$2 fee every time to add less than $75 in a sitting? It's an absolute money hungry cesspool, they don't care about their well-intentioned users because they know scam ads push our ads down the list further forcing us to keep paying and paying. Just yesterday they made a LTC conversion error in the users' favour (I was given about $30 credit for $12 spend) I thought "huh, maybe it works out sometimes"...today they tried to put my balance into the negative! I emailed them and they reversed that decision, but they still took the extra credit out of my account which is unfair when it's their mistake and they make money hand over fist regardless. Sorry for the longass rant, but I hope and think more people are seeing the light about what trash LL is now. I definitely let as many clients as I can know. There are alternatives, I just think more people need to be made aware of them. ๐Ÿค”
  19. Depends on the type of scam... If it's a bad provider booking someone for an hour then rushing them out the door in 15 min (or in that vein), then yes usually it's a case of: Delete Ad, Change Name+Number, Post Again Scam But honestly (and rather unfortunately), I can look at page 1 in my home city almost any time of day, and at least half the ads will be using demonstrably stolen pics. (From what I can tell it's similar in most cities) And those ads stay up because Leolist DGAF about that kind of scam, so long as they keep getting $ running the ads...
  20. Since the OG Backpage went down, over time sites have popped up with similar names, hoping to capitalize on name recognition. Just looking now there's bedpages (multiple of this name, with different domain endings), 2backpage, yesbackpage, backpageclassifieds etc... If you have the specific link it might be easier to say if legit or not? But in my personal experience in my area, Leolist is (undeservedly) #1, megapersonals and tryst coming in behind, and a few free sites to post on (but they tend to attract a sketchier crowd)...it's been a while, but last I checked no one really uses the Backpage clones, all the posts were generic scam ads with stolen pornstar pics.
  21. Hey, as a SP/advertiser on Leolist, just wanted to chime in with a possible reason ads might show up as "Deleted" (When you get the "Sorry, this ad is no longer active" message), if that's alright ๐Ÿ™‚ On the user interface, Leolist gives us the option to select "hide ad"- so the ad won't be deleted, but it will display the above message as though it were. Sometimes if I am making significant edits to an ad, I will do this til I'm able to finish them. More commonly, I have heard some providers will hide their ad when they are done working for the day; hiding the ad will stop, or at least slow down, the amount of calls and texts they get once they're done. Lastly sometimes it really is deleted- like if a provider is just passing through, they may delete the ad so that after they've left they won't keep getting texts and calls for booking in a location they're no longer in. Or may delete if they're taking some time off, and don't want their phone blowing up. Wanted to offer that insight/different perspective on it, to clarify that there are normal/unconcerning reasons ads may be "deleted" sometimes. Hope this helps ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. For dinner I ordered injera with a mix of 6 different vegetarian spreads, very tasty ๐Ÿ˜‹ (best I've had though admittedly I've only tried from 3 different restaurants). Had I known at the time about this thread, Idve snapped a pic ๐Ÿ˜… Next time ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. This is bittersweet, I'm sorry to see you go but so thankful for what you've done for this community, and excited for the adventures and opportunities that lie ahead of you. ๐Ÿ™‚Best of luck Lydia โค
