I don't get the hockey playoff thing... what could be better than watching the game with a sexy lady and using the intermissions wisely lol

 

Just my opinion

 

 

You would think but we're in Canada. For some, hockey is like a religion. lol. They tend to call us after the game is over.

A new challenge will be an adjustment period after C-36 is proclaimed. I think more than a few players will sit on the sidelines to see how the dust settles what the "changed world" will look like.

 

No matter what some one says about it being business as usual with minor adjustments in my opinion it really won't be. New advertising rules and revised websites alone will make things much different. As well as confusion about what is and isn't ok content-wise and which contact and interactions work best and are legal.

 

Could take awhile to establish a rhythm.

No matter the laws, economy, etc, there will always be gentlemen looking for companions, especially someone new. Yes things have changed, the key is to change with them. Follow the rules/laws, advertise well/often, present yourself in your most comfortable style, by that I mean find "you" know what type of clientele you'd like and market to them, in your own special way and as the law permits. Don't follow others styles, being true to yourself is always best.

When business is good put away a nest egg, as this business is as up and down as a rollercoaster. Last but not least, enjoy those you meet, most of us are intuitive and can tell when we are wanted/liked, return clients are what keeps us going and imho, they are better than any reco's. I wouldn't say that. Just be aware of the laws, what you can and cannot advertise and so on

If now wasn't the best time to get started, as an example, no ladies at all would ever have started in the United States and there being a escort has been for the most part illegal.

Yet do a Google search and you can find escorts in the United States

The Government likes to strike fear in those in this lifestyle...me, what I do to calm my fears is see a beautiful honest trustworthy lady just for time and companionship only ;-) My fears get calmed pretty fast, although my heart is pounding a lot harder but for other reasons that have nothing to do with fear :-)

Given the diversity in price, there will be something there for everyone along that price line.....Example , I happen to like broccoli and I buy it often , but when the price of broccoli goes over 3 dollars I start looking for a substitute vegetable..I dont negotiate with the providers of broccoli , I just switch to another veggie that I enjoy..no matter how much I might enjoy broccoli , the line has to be drawn at some point...

 

And if the supplier of broccoli isnt selling enough of their product , then they can if they wish lower their price...The market will control both the seller as well as the buyer. And given the tremendous choice out there from the suppliers point of view there seems to be an adequate supply of services out there in the market...

 

So there is absolutely no need to negotiate...having said that, I do often ask for a price consideration especially if it is extended hours or an over nite. In my case I have had a number of SP who have been kind enough to offer a discount especially after we have met once or twice...as its a win win situation and that win win becomes brand loyalty...maybe even brand preference or insistence...when the chemistry is right...

I don't think things are fundamentally any worse than before the laws changed, as so much depends on the attitudes of local LE and what they choose to go after (or not, as is more often the case).

 

The only exception to this is that the new laws make it much easier for LE to set up stings to entrap clients, and so any newcomer will have to deal with more inherent caution from potential clients than may have been the case a few months ago. But there are ways around that (e.g. having an established person to vouch for you) and once you have a few recommendations then it'll probably cease to be an issue.

 

Also, I've heard from some ladies that a remarkable number of people, both clients and providers, are ignorant of the old laws, the new laws, and the fact that the law changed. That's hearsay, but it may well be true...

I want to add to this discussion. That at times I have had to get a bit more creative n my service. Try to think of a new angle, what can I do to increase my marketability? A new album? New direction of advertising? More investments in my advertising and finding more advertising venues? How can I as a business women add more versatility to my business?

When I become stagnate, I look inward rather than outward for answers.

Slowness on this end too, too frustrating right now!

 

I just basically stopped caring. Que sera, sera. When you focus on what you don`t have and the present conditions, you will get more of what you don`t want. Don`t try and fight and control your present conditions. It won`t work.

 

Yes, this is easier said than done and I`ve had my fair share of shitty days being negative but if you trust enough to give up the control and have faith that you will get your appointments, you will. When I stopped focusing on wanting the phone to ring more and went off and took my mind off of it, is when you will get what you want.

 

Don`t expect how you will make money or where it will be coming from or from whoever, just know that you will. I study the law of attraction in depth every single day and it`s amazing what transpires daily when you have faith and a positive attitude. It takes practice to give up control to the universe but it works all the time.

 

The biggest key to receive more financial abundance is being grateful for what you already have. The universe will surprise you in a good way. I have a ritual of manifesting good clients that I practice every morning for a half hour. It also helps with attracting good clients instead of time wasters. Negativity equals time wasters.

 

If you think you can`t, you won`t. The vibe you put out is the vibe you will attract back. This also applies when you are worried about money. You are the creator of your own reality. This I have definitely learned.

 

My life has been blessed in many ways as a result in the last year and not specifically on a financial level but what I have learned has helped my business as well. For everything I have, I am grateful.

I don't think there will EVER be to much ladies. As said before, different times, different needs...

 

Also, I THINK, being available more often creates a certain mood where clients don't have the EXCLUSIVITY. (I'm giving up my secrets here...) We are a TREAT, and the treat guys want the most are the less available, but yet, the most trusted ladies.

 

I couldn't live of this buisness like before, not even interested, but from time to time, I become available for those who really appreciate being with an escort, being with ME. Those who, sometimes, anticipate our meeting... For years.

 

But you are well trusted Nicolette, and as I saw, a gem. I'm sure you will find a solution to stand out... You worth it...

Been tuff here to but I am not available anywhere near what I was so makes it hard sometimes with gents who only want to book last minute. It is even harder right now trying to move ,I find this industry has changed so much since I first signed in here,too many clicks,not enough recos and so on. Ah well cest la vie Warm wishes to all the ladies trying to keep this place alive and playful.

Hehe. Thanks I wrote that almost a year ago. I dont worry about clients. A,lot has changed since. I've stopped wondering or looking at the business and how it has changed anymore. I just do my own thing and focus on myself.

Here's an interesting correlation to my view any way. I know a few professional musicians who are struggling to find paying gigs that allow them to not need a day or straight gig as well, the boomers drove the bar scene in the 80's into the 90's when all clubs and bars had live music virtually 6 nights a week and for some that was enough dough to do it full time. Drinking and driving laws (hard to argue) and demographics have seen the live music scene drop to maybe 3 nights a week and as well an owner can offer up free mike nights where amateurs can use the stage to live out their dreams and the owner pays them nothing. They found the crowd size on a M-T-W and even Thurs weren't impacted by this and now the pro musicians struggle to find even weekend paying gigs.

 

To me the correlation is this.. in our market BP ads are abundant in fact over abundant with part timers with burner cell phones who book a room for a day or two and scoop some dough and then disappear with little or no interest in cultivating an actual business or following. As well as the boomers move through and move on their replacements seem some what satisfied with this type of situation.

 

Just like the live music business, things have changed.

I've learned so much with scheduling clients and talking to them. Then you get some not-so-nice guys wanting to book, I do very little screening, my screening is very simple. Now, I get a lot of guys who are rude, when I mean rude, it's name calling and this and that. I can get 10 new text messages from a recent ad I've posted and maybe 2-3 are very nice, the rest are unable to pay or pass the very simple screening. I think if I didn't care about my own well-being and allowed a demanding-rude-hat in my home, I would receive that type of behavior. The business for me is very busy, busy with the demanding-rude-hats and not enough of the kind-respectable gentleman.

 

Not to say I have days where a client is booked, usually those days I am not working. I get messages on days where I am not working but they've seen my ad, and a lot do contact me when I have prior estrangements with my life, some are down in the dumpster that they are unable to see me, others, simply are apologetic and move forward.

 

Shit happens to everyone, things come up last minute, an emergency occurs and no one is able to see someone when they once were planning to see someone. I've had emergencies come up, for instance my dog got sick and I rushed him to the hospital, I was gone for 10 hours and came back to 15 messages and some odd missed calls because I posted ads. Things happen. We can't control most of these things.

 

If no one books I am either enjoying that time with my dog, cleaning, or doing other things.

I think there is a correlation, but some clients are still looking for quality. As for myself, I am a French blue eyed redhead, wich is very rare, and I have my regulars on every trip. I don't really get to meet new people, so I'm not in the same market.

 

But I also think that we all have our little twist, and without recos, well, there is no way we can stand out.

 

As for BP, there's very few guarantees that you'll find that diamond in the rough. It is up to the gents to get here, on Lyla, to make sure the lady is reliable and LEAVE RECOS so the others can consult them and make the right choices.

 

We have been telling our clients this since forever! Please, leave recos! Otherwise, well, chances of BS and ''fly by'' are sky rocketing.

 

I think clients just can't pay anymore. Yes, economy gets us all...

 

And as for the correlation you're making, I don't think Bell Centre is going to held back a paycheck. It all depends how we get represented...

I certainly can't speak about most markets in Canada but what I have noticed in the last few years in St. John's is a dramatic increase in the number of visiting ladies... we always seemed to have a small regular group of very reputable ladies who would tour here and most still do and I think they generally do ok here but in my opinion there seems to be a lot more BP ads for visiting ladies with no website or presence on boards like this who appear and generally advertise for significantly lower rates than most of the well known ladies. In my experience this lower rate is not really a lower rate as the reality is that the service level is dramatically lower and everything is an extra charge once you are in the room. More recently I have seen lots of BP ads offering special rates of $80 or $100 and while I certainly love to save some money I don't see this as a good thing as it dramatically impacts the business of the extremely reputable ladies especially the wonderful local ladies here who are LYLA members.

 

Now don't get me wrong I appreciate and respect the right of each and every lady to set her own rates so I am not saying there is something wrong with all these "new" people in the market just emphasizing that it is having an impact and making things slow for some wonderful ladies who live or visit here.

 

I would also bet that some of the ladies who have worked in St. John's for many years would tell me that they have seen this before and that it is cylindrical business with lots of its ups and downs and no doubt they are right... but if you rely on the revenue and it's down I am pretty sure it still is difficult especially if moving on to a better market for a while is not an option.

I'm curious as to how much of an impact C-36 has had on the industry in general...

 

I went into the sex trade after the C-36 so my experience/opinion will be different than others. I don't know what it was like before because I never experienced that. However, to think about it I don't enjoy listing what I do and don't do during an encounter. I don't list do's and don'ts in ads either. Those things aren't my style. I know that it was okay to mention that before the bill.

 

I've found more respect is happening. I used to be explicit with clients over text and emails, but it didn't do anything. I started to say, "I don't discuss that over email/text/PM please call to discuss." the turn out, very positive. If they want to hear how explicit I am in text form, anything could happen. I found that when I am straight with those who contact me, they usually respond with, "you are very honest, I like honesty that is sexy," so on so fourth. I don't accept clients who want that type of interaction before we met it's not necessary or effective.

 

I sit back relaxed and calm when responding. Yes, some men out there are extremely rude and therefore I explain to them clearly in a stern voice I don't accept that, some hangup, are apologetic, or continue to be rude.

 

Bill C-36 doesn't mean a lot to me other than there is more risks but I don't allow myself in those situations. If a ass-hat really wants to be abusive, they better think twice because I could care a less what the police think, he will be charged and the laws won't stop me. Why should I allow someone who thinks they have the "power" because they are buying a service, thinking they could just get away with it? I don't accept such clients and I screen without them knowing, very simple. 1 text message to me can determine that. It's all about how you communicate.

 

Yes. Bill C-36 needs to change but it isn't changing how I run my business at all. They need to put in place better screening (a lot don't know how to screen) a lot of educational classes for us (doesn't hurt to learn about how to protect ourselves even if we know that) to make it easier for us to reach out where the stigma is less and more accepting, and many other things.

 

You determine who you bring in. I choose who I want. I enjoy what I do and a law (a pathetic one and is very contradicting) isn't going to put any strain on that. I also don't care what others think of me either, that doesn't bother me.
