please turn off your phone

I am a new hobbyist with only 3 experiences under my belt. One was amazing...best bbbjcim of my life! One was very mechanical and robotic. The last one started uneasy...I called up, on time, and she asked for 5 minutes to pretty up. She called 10 minutes later to say she was ready. I got to her door and waited 3 minutes while she finished her phone call. I was annoyed but, when she opened the door and i saw her, I didn't care anymore. WOW!!! But, that is where it ended. Her phone rang no less than 6 times while I was there and, with 20 minutes left in our appt, she was checking her voicemails.

Please ladies, turn them off or on vibrate. Needless to say, I never fully got into it. I accepted a cbj, got dressed and left. I wanted more but, I can't perform when I know my partner is not really there. Lesson learned and $ wasted.

I totally agree and I sympathize with you on the treatment you received from the last SP. It is completely unacceptable to be making/receiving calls or checking voicemails while a customer is still there during the session. Even if the phone is on vibrate or silence mode, it still bugs me when a SP glances at her phone from time to time.

I always leave my phone in another room and lower the volume so it can't be heard.

Any lady who answers her phone while is session is not being very professional.

With so many new ladies getting into the business (it seems every day here in Ottawa), it's not surprising this (amongst other things) is becoming a commonplace complaint from guys.

How would they like it if their dentist decided to talk and text while giving them a root canal.

Sorry that you had this experience. Maybe in future you make it a condition of the date. At many meetings and events today generally the host will ask the attendees to make sure that their phones are turned down so as they don't interrupt.

Maybe we need to make it a habit that we ask at the start of an encounter that the phone be turned off, unless we know the provider and her habits.

I have to agree 100%....BIG turn off. When ever that has happened to me , I never go back. If the phone has to be on to recieve messages, leave it in another room & make sure the sound is off. The last girl I saw had double booked & the phone kept ringing...the client was waiting outside the door. She had the nerve to ask me to if I was going to take much longer. She's lucky I'm one of the nice guys...I gave up & politely left. No fuss, just left.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, a ladies phone should never be on during appts. Stick to reputable providers here on cerb with an established presence and lots of good reviews, us professional ladies know how to conduct ourselves in a way that is pleasurable and respectful to our clients:)

Sorry to all the clients that still have to deal with this nonsense, turning your phone off is pretty basic, "escorting 101". These "providers" that still operate like this give the rest of us who try our best a bad name, and for that I am truly sorry.

My phone has satellite radio on it. Every time the phone rang it annoyed me because to even hear it ring is a big no no to me. So long story short the radio on my phone didn't last long. My phone gets turned off and to me it is much better that way. I couldn't imagine talking on the phone or texting.

@LuxeMulvari...I am taking your advice from now on. I just got back from an appt with another SP and it happened again. This time, still within the time, she answers the phone and asks the next client to come up in 3 minutes as her previous client (me), is just leaving. I was still naked and was just flushing the hat. Not even time for me to clean up. The worst part now is realizing she doesn't clean up between clients...and to think I put my face down there... :-(

Good Day everyone,

Well on the flipside, No disrespect Gentleman, But I have had appointments that YOUR phne is going off constently! Now I do understand if you own your own business or your in a position that your phone needs to be on. With that said...Its hard for use ladys to fuly enjoy your company when your mind is elsewhere also.

Please, at the very least...turn it down so we can enjoy each others company to the fullest!

xoxo

I had an experience like this once. It was my worst experience with an SP. That SP didn't last long in the business, I wonder if she left because she didn't get any repeat customers.

You are absolutely right! It works both ways.

Poor you, why did you deserve this?

And... no clean up in between? Yike!

I agree - going with reputable cerb members is the way to enjoy this hobby. Good luck!

Well to paraphrase Emily, I can assure you, when I am seeing a lady the last thing on my mind is the phone...my focus and attention is on the lady I am meeting and who has agreed to spend her time with me. So my phone is off

I keep a personal cell and a work BB and both are put on silent. Today's lady at least put hers on vibrate but she was finding it amusing that it was about to fall on the floor from vibrating so much and she had the nerve to ask me to push it further onto the nightstand to prevent it...she was definitely an ego booster. Lol

Wowsers what a bummer. I like to focus on getting down. My phone is left in another room on silent. It's basic etiquette!!!

You are comparing apples and oranges Shelly - as only 1 person is paying for the other persons time in this Business (yes, Business). Hobbying is not a 2-way street. If it were, it would just be called 'Dating'.

While also courteous for the Client to leave their phone off, the SP has already been paid for their time - of which the SP gets their money for their time regardless of the # of phone calls the guy may receive.

But when a SP takes time away from a client (whether with their phone or otherwise), it is only 1 person who loses out - the client. So the 2 scenarios are very different: apples vs. oranges.

No guy I've ever met will pay a SP to watch them play with their phone for an hour - but I am sure there are ladies whom would be just as happy to charge a guy for an hour, and have them play with their phone the whole time. While the lady may not have gotten any 'playtime', in the end, they were paid for their same time and companionship anyways, right?

Ultimately, whether client or provider, we can then choose whether we see that person again if one doesn't like the other. Like most any business, once two (or more) 'professional business partners' work well together - everyone profits!

The real issue here is, as part of this 'business' - is to do your best to minimize the amount of money you will loss to the bounty of un-professional people/scammers whom plague this un-regulated industry. That is to say, there is no BHB (Better Hobby Bureau).

The best of luck and success with all your endeavours!

BCB: while I take your point about apples and oranges I'm also sure that there are clients (i.e. not gentlemen!) out there, you know, the kind who feel their phone(call) is so very important, who would think that every call they answered was like punching the button on the chess clock or stop-time in soccer!

I think it is simple common sense and courtesy on all sides to leave the beast on silent and put it away!

.... another solution could be that clients and providers make a pact to simply answer the other's phone should it ring! We could probably figure out simple courtesy then!!

OH MY GOD that's a hilarious image. Thanks. I swear I've just written a whole little one-act play in my head, with a client and an SP each stopping and starting the session timer beside the bed for increasingly ridiculous reasons.

VERONIQUE GASPS and suddenly lifts herself up and slaps the timer button in a panic, stopping the clock

VERONIQUE: Oh my god! I promised my neighbour I'd take her ratatouille out at 6:30. Just be a minute!

MICHAEL flops back on bed, fumes briefly; then shrugs and starts checking his e-mail.

..... (later)

MICHAEL suddenly CRIES OUT and flails his arms; VERONIQUE pulls back, startled and wide-eyed

VERONIQUE: *What!?*

MICHAEL: (slapping the timer to stop the clock) OMIGOD It's the season finale of Great Provincial Parks tonight and I forgot to set the PVR! (fumbles with phone to remotely reprogram his PVR)

On one hand BCB, you are correct, it is apples and oranges. But here's another (and I've seen it) Customer (client) going through the check out at a grocery store. The check out girl is being held up from doing her job while the all mighty phone call is taking place. It doesn't just happen in the SP/Client relationship, it happens all over the place. And in my opinion, disregarding a live person in front of you for a faceless one over a cell phone is rude...you can always take the call later

Oh, and one more thing, when a client takes a call during an encounter, I can see how it can spoil the mood, the rhythm and flow of the encounter.

That said, how many bad reviews have been written blaming the SP when it may very well have been all the interruptions by the client because of a cell phone. Phonus interuptis can spoil the mood you know.

I lied, one more thing. Seeing ladies is about an intimate interpersonal escape. That escape is somewhat gone if the phone is on...so once the lady arrives, it's turned off

And a thought. Everyone is wired to their phones nowadays. From teenagers on up. But I don't recall big long line-ups at payphones when I was growing up. Why this need to be that wired in 24/7 365 days a year

Sorry that you had this bad experience, not once, but twice, @curiousm7.

It is bad enough to have an SP's phone ringing at any time, let alone multiple times during a date, at whatever volume. If she then figures that it is more important for her to take the call than be in the moment with her current (or rather, by now probably former) admirer/client, that is the height of rudeness and unprofessional behaviour. Having the next client on the phone and practically at the door waiting to get in!... well, I'm speechless now!

I do hope that this is indeed a very rare situation amongst the ladies of this board, and those that have maybe not thought about this, do so now.

As well, I hope your new strategy leads to much more enjoyable encounters in the future, curiousm7! :)

Let's be real here. Sure it's "rude" for a client to keep his phone on. I'd say it's a little bit stupid because they'd be the cause of a not so good experience.

But it's a whole different ball game if an sp does it. At that point it's no longer about etiquette...it's just throwing 2 or 3 brown bills away involuntarily.

That is essentially what BCB said and it's true, people get confused sometimes and don't realize that what's happening here is business, it is of a very intimate nature and so it requires a great amount of respect on both parties but in the end an encounter is a Business Transaction. We are customers who pay for the SP's time.
